    I have a GHAD-68, and there are a lot of things to like about it. Including Gaahleri customer service, very responsive. But, unlike any of my other airbrushes, I have major tip dry issues with the Gaahleri. I use Mission Models and AK Gen3 acrylics. Nothing I try seems to help. The Gaahleri's really atomize the paint, and for me somehow this leads to big tip dry problems. Thanks for the videos on both the Swallowtails, really well done and helpful.

      Thank you for sharing this. I can see where dry tip could happen with some acrylics. I had someone local to me have the same issue with some vallejo. I would like to know if you do find a workaround for this!!!
      Thankfully, i have not experienced it with my lacquers.

    dose two airbrush look beautiful i wish I could buy one of dose two in the future and they come with 3 diferente needles nice

      Essentially, they are the same airbrush. With a different color handle. But they are nice.

  • @TriLaserArt

    The only issue I had with mine was there wasn't a very good seal at the cap. The O-ring in my opinion should be a bit bigger. Had a lot of bubble back in the cup no matter what size needle and nozzle combination I used. Fixed it by adding some bees wax to the threads. Aside from that I really like the brush.

    The only real issue ive had with mine is the screw that hilds the trigger on slowly unscrews itself from pulling the trigger over time. After blowing about 5-7 colors over a kit ill have to tighten it back up or the trigger will fall off while im rinsing it out at the sink

    • @animousworks
      @animousworks  8 месяцев назад +1

      A little locktite might fix that. Just a dab on the part where the bolt screws in should be enough.

    Instead of worrying about how cool the color was next time maybe do a performance review of this brush. The colors and engraving do matter when you’re painting…

    • @animousworks

      Thank you for your comment!
      This was more of an overview since it's essentially the same airbrush as the Studio G Swallowtail with a different color handle. When spraying, it was as smooth as the Studio G ones.
      Thank you for your feedback. ❤

      Once I am done with my current build, i will be tearing down and doing an overall review of all the gaahleri products to include these 2 airbrushes. I used everything in their lineup except the 98d. That might be the video you are looking for.

    On my channel I broke down the studio G brush as I thought this is a Grex TG brush * for most of the parts Handel and nozzle. I have a full break down on my channel. So I purchased the G and Rex

    I think its funny how it's essentially the same airbrush but this one worked out of box without issues.
    I am also glad that you didn't do a long review but just the overall unboxing for it.
    Is this one still available for sale?

    First of all thanks for the review. So in your opinion, both are the same thing basically. Only notable difference its the color of the handle? Do you have any idea if you can buy the Barbatos' fan cap and holder for the Studio G model?

    • @animousworks
      @animousworks  8 месяцев назад +1

      Essentially its the same airbrush. The only thing that changes is the handle.
      And yes, you can buy the fan cap and the stand separately!!!!

    Are the trigger functions similar to the GHAD 68? Where the two sensation feel on trigger for air and paint noticeable?

    • @barbatosrex9473
      @barbatosrex9473 8 месяцев назад +2

      Yes it is. Very easy to feel when the paint will dispense

    • @mastervadgers3881
      @mastervadgers3881 8 месяцев назад +1

      @barbatosrex9473 my Studio G version I could barely tell any difference and shoot out paint instead of just air 😭

    • @animousworks
      @animousworks  8 месяцев назад

      Yes. You can clearly feel the difference. You should be able to lightly press the trigger and hit a wall.

    • @daveburch947
      @daveburch947 8 месяцев назад +1

      The triggers are completely different. The swallowtail has a firmer trigger with very little bevel. The 68d has a much softer trigger that is smoother. The 68d has a much more pronounced bevel allowing it to be more comfortable overall.

      Reach out to the Gaahleri team, did you order it in a bundle or just by itself?
      I know that they had delays with the fan cap and stand, so orders were starting to ship out nlt the 12th.

    I have this airbrush, and while I dont have grit or roughness issues with the trigger, it is quite floppy, and nothing I do to tighten the trigger screw makes any difference. Has amyone else noticed this?

    • @animousworks
      @animousworks  8 месяцев назад

      I believe others also experienced it with their studio G one. Have you tried reaching out to gaahleri regarding the matter?

    • @michaelmays1915
      @michaelmays1915 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@animousworks Thanks for the reply. I haven't yet - it doesn't appear to affect the airbrush's operation, it just feels sloppy. My GHAD-68 trigger is much more secure. It looks like the housing that holds the trigger hinge is shorter than the space between the "arms" of the trigger, so the trigger flops side to side even when it's tightened in.
      I'll contact Gaahleri and see what they say, but it seems like this is a design thing rather than a defect. Thanks for your input.

      @animousworks  8 месяцев назад

      @@michaelmays1915 i am very sure that someone else i knew had that same thing on theirs. Try contacting them to see.

      @@michaelmays1915 If I may, with the caveat that I have no experience with this tool (but close to ordering one), but lots of general experience mod'ing tools for my own custom use. Perhaps you could remove the trigger axle/pivot and find an off-the-shelf tiny pair of nylon or brass washers to slip into the gap on either side of the trigger tabs, between those and the pivot block, taking up the gap, but not making it too tight. Look for these tiny washers in places that supply watch/clock making parts, mini/micro RC cars or helicopters/drones, model trains, electronics repair parts, etc.
      Or, if you have the skill and tools, you could DIY some from shim stock. Or in a pinch, making them from pop can, if the thickness is suitable.
      Hope this works.
      Did you contact the company and get a response?
      If any of this help, please post here as it could be useful to other users. 🙂👍
      Thanks and good luck!
