    The siciliano movement is some of the best band music I've ever heard

      Playing first horn on Siciliano was so terrifying because of the fact that it’s just first and third horn at the beginning and D is a lot harder to start cleanly than Bb 😂

    I could listen to Siciliano over and over again without getting sick of it. We're playing this in band class right now, and every time I hear this part it lifts my mood completely. It's so lovely.

    we played this my freshman year. I'm graduating this year, going back and listening to music I've played... it's soooo sad. Enjoy it while you can because it speeds by really fast!!

      I’m graduating a week and a day from now. Last day is this Thursday and this is my senior song (our band director let’s us all choose a song to read with the class from the past four years). Idek if you’re still active on this account 7 years ago wow but yeah

    I loved these songs so much because they were instrumentally even. As a euphonium, I didn't usually see much melody, but this piece really delivered for the low brass.

      I don't think I ever appreciated my high school symphonic band conductor enough for picking pieces such as this which feature euphonium, I was really spoiled and had no clue until I became an adult.

    Played percussion senior year, had the solo at 5:42, everyone would cheer me after that part every time during practice, bunch of weirdos, good times good times :'(

    Played 1st horn for this my senior year. Was cut short by the pandemic, but I’m glad that this was the last piece I ever played. I miss band so much

    I just came across this piece in a tiktok of all things, I'd totally forgotten I'd played it but recognized it instantly! The rondo section was so much fun for the alto saxes

    Loved this when we played it in high school. More than 40 years later, I still hum it, especially the beautifully lyrical Siciliano.

    We played this my 7th grade year and I’m just amazed how far I’ve come listening to my old saxophone solo on this was amazing

    My high school wind ensemble played this my junior year. Siciliano was by far my favorite movement. (Also, go 1st trombones!)

    I have a long relationship with this piece.. Last year, in middle school, we sight-read it and everyone loved it for weeks, then it came up again and I got to play a different part in Orange County's (nope, Florida) All-County band, and now I get to practice another part for my school's spring concert coming up soon. Really, I love it.

    This is the exact same recording I have (it is distinguished by the cough at 3:43), but the CD info says it was a recording of BYU's wind ensemble.

    Played principal trumpet on this for the first time summer of 9th grade at the University of Pacific Summer Camp, Tim Smith directing. I have since taught it to my students 4 times of the course of my career. Best Band Piece ever!

    This song brings back so many memories... Sophomore year in the Utah State Honor Band. This and Resting in the Peace of His Hands were my two favorite pieces. I'll never forget those days.

    this is by far the hardest song I've ever had to play. especially because the harp part is sooo darn hard to play on the marimba.

      I find that vibraphone with medium-soft mallets fits better for replacement of the harp.

    The semiquavers on alto sax A to G# just before the presto almost killed my fingers at Rondo. I knew we should've just stuck with Siciliano, it was good.

    Everyone is saying siciliano but tbh I like it when my band plays rondo, in the state of texas we have a reputation for being aggressive with our sound so rondo fits us better, only really the first chairs have a decent melodic sound, but we’re getting there
