Yes! Also, the main theme of this piece is a quote from a Tchaikovsky string quartet (not sure which one), and if I'm not mistaken, you can hear the 'swordfighting' from Romeo and Juliet in the percussion at 8:26 onwards. Pretty sure there are even more references I haven't found yet.
