The dust shroud is only $30 and hooks right up to a shop vac. Definitely worth it.
Love the homemade dust collection, this is exactly what I’ll do
Well done. Great video work.
nice homemade dust shroud it worked really !
super good job!
I love the ingenuity
how is the floor holding out ? why did you opt to use mortar filler rather than epoxy or polyurethane base floor crack filler ?
Dude, love the improvisation...BUT definitely would have sprung for a larger grinder with a real dust shroud...😷🤣
Very helpful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Glad you think so!
The crocs help. speed holes for faster progress
Always good to spray water on unfinished drywall😊
Is it fine to use stucco for the cracks?
I purchased hydraulic cement to fill those little cracks. What are your thoughts on that?
I accidentally used red devil rd3000 concrete filler, do you think the epoxy will stick to it?
Man great video, have you ever heard of Dustless Technologies? They make the best dust collection system (Shrouds and vacuums) at a reasonable price. The time you save on clean up after the fact will be worth what you think you will save by not having it.
I have not heard of them, I will check them out thanks!
You did a nice job. Brother, you could pick up a dust shroud for $40.00 then buy a couple bags for your shop vac...no dust..if money was an issue...you definitely could have used water, then just vacuumed it up..easy peasy. By the way 4" angle grinder with a shroud and proper diamonds is a great investment...
Oh yeah you learn as you go for sure. I definitely would have done stuff differently, but that is part of the process. I thought about the water but i was worried that the slurry would make things difficult in another way.
Ignorant newbie here, but what kind of handheld sander/grinder is that? I know you put the link to the diamond blade, but what is the actual tool? Thanks! Awesome video. No one else is showing it done this way.
It is just your standard 4 inch angle grinder. If you need a link to the one im using let me know!
Like the fact that you use home stuff and system D.
Thats what DIY is all about!
Can this be done during the winter months? Thanks
Sure can
Check the temperature range on your paint/epoxy before applying
Did you use clear and shining paint after you painted?
I did not. However I do have some nice White LED lights in the garage
The drywalls wet 😮
How much for the crocs?
A dust shield from harbor freight is 30 bucks
80$ for us canadians
Proper protective equipment like crocs
And jeans in case you get attacked by a roque angle saw
yesssss
Good god. This is the definition of wasting money and time in an effort to DIY for cheap. Whatever coating you put on that concrete won’t last more then a year. Concrete prep is one of those things you need to do the right way, even if it costs a bit more if you want it to last. Or even look good when you’re all done.
What else would you have done besides etching?
Etching does not work. The floor MUST be ground down or it just will not last.
You missed the part where he ground the floor by hand 😂😂
Wetting the concrete floor you're gringing with an electric grinder is a sure fire recipe to die! DON'T DO THAT!
Pressure washer would of taken care of that whole floor. Bye bye dust, dirt, debris and paint
Knee pads you need Knee pads my knees hurt just watching you.
That is a small garage ,
