One thing IPS reviews need is some indication of how "IPS Glow" presents on each screen. The lower contrast doesn't bother me, but "IPS Glow" does. I am using an old NEC Pro IPS screen, with only 800:1 contrast, but a special layer to eliminate "IPS Glow". It's fantastic. I have used other IPS panels and the glow can be really bad. With so many IPS type panel makers today, we really need to see which ones have good/bad glow.

I just bought one after reading a few reviews including this excellent one. My old monitor was a BenQ TN panel 60Hz rated at 2msec. Wow, what a difference with the EX2510! I was a bit concerned about the IPS panel been slower and generating more "ghosting" but I was so wrong! And the colors are amazing. So much better than the TN panel which look flat when compared side by side. At 60Hz, the IPS panel with overdrive is doing a bit better than the TN panel (less blurry). Then you activate G-Sync. And this is like puting the accelerator. In any game where your GPU can crank up 80 fps or more, you will see an improvement in the image quality; less blurry and much more reactive compared to 60Hz. Even in the desktop at 144Hz, it is better than 60Hz. Everything is less blurry when scrolling. I will take fps over resolution any time. Thx to you guys at Hardware Unboxed! Your reviews are always a lot of fun to watch.

@@bleekwater6176 any monitor with freesync can be used as “gsync compatible”; u just need to force it in the nvidia gsync settings. It will say that it’s not been CERTIFIED as gsync compatible, but all that means is it wasn’t up to nvidias super high standards when it comes to VRR. You can still force it to use the Freesync built into the monitor, and it’ll work fine.
This monitor even has freesync premium, which is a bit better than normal freesync, so it’s gonna look pretty damn smooth when gaming, as long as u activate the feature in nvidia settings.

Just got this monitor last Saturday. I was specifically looking for a 24.5" IPS monitor. It's my first experience with an IPS panel, coming from TN panels and I am liking the experience. The lesser contrast to me has not yes been too apparent, although I do game in lower light conditions. IPS Glow I have noticed, on my unit it is somewhat noticeable in the lower left corner when viewing it off angle (due to having dual monitors). Not a deal breaker for me.

Coming from a 1200p 60hz photo editing monitor (has 3 OD modes lol), for gaming the EX2510 was like glass and zero ghosting, i didn't even notice any input lag, it took me a few mins to get used to the extra fluidity and i had to adjust my gameplay accordingly (bf4, warzone, quake champions, cs), some people will def like the black level adjustments under FPS mode, you can really bring out anything in the shadows....i ended up returning it because the colours were dull for me (desktop/editing), despite the sRGB mode which was decent but mainly, 1080p was too hard to adjust to coming from 1200p (both 24.5"), so im going to look at 1440p 144hz+ now, otherwise i would have kept the EX2510

I think BENQ used to focus mainly on eyecare monitor, this is why they put TÜV certifications even on a gaming monitor, the EX2510. In my experience, IPS panel with eyecare function works really well on both working and gaming. People spend most of their time not only playing games, browsing, watching videos, but also documenting as well as working. Thereby, in my case, EX2510 really suitable for all my needs considering all reasons mentioned, plus the accessibility and price here. By the way, in my hometown, Taiwan (the origin of AUO and BENQ), EX2510 is quite expensive (7990 NTD = 279 USD) compared to that in the U.S. But anyway, I can't buy 24G2 here :(

I've just opened my new EX2510. Here's my immediate review of this monitor compared to the Viewsonic XG2405 (which I received a week ago).
Colour out of the box: Noticeably more realistic, whites are white (for example). The Viewsonic looks a bit sickly and I couldn't fix it.
Sharpness: They have it spot on here. The Viewsonic however was not sharp at normal settings (I was constantly thinking I'd have to get a new set of glasses) and too sharp at the next sharpness setting up (note that Benq doesn't have a sharpness setting), although text was then more readable.
RUclips/Video performance: Sharp and well coloured. Colours and detail on the reviewers face in this video when viewed with the Viewsonic looked slightly strange, slightly smeared together, cartoon like. I know there's a term for it but can't think of it right now.
Viewing angles: MUCH better on the Benq, I can look to either end of the screen and not see any light fall off. The Viewsonic did not do this, even though when i looked at the edges of the screen straight on they looked fine. Perhaps it was the screen anti-glare coating, or just poor angles.
White Uniformity: Noticeably better here. On the Viewsonic there was a definite bright area immediately noticable in the central area of the screen.
UFO test (naked eye only): Possibly slightly better on the Viewsonic, less smearing, but marginal.
Audio: WAY WAY WAY better on the Benq. Bloomin' brilliant actually for a montor speaker. I'm more than happy here.
Menu system: Benq is much MUCH more intuitive with less buttons and a joystick. The Viewsonic has five buttons round the back which you have to put all five fingers on to make sure you're pressing the right one and I still get it wrong.
Monitor stand depth: 22cm on the BENQ, 24cm on the Viewsonic. Note that the BENQ and Viewsonic screens sit the same distance from your face due to stand design. They both sit at 20cm from the back of the desk.
Stand quality: Both are bombproof with the Viewsonic being slightly more so. I have no issues with either. The Viewsonic wins on the fact it's a flat base so I can lay things on it. Not a deal breaker. The Viewsonic is noticeably more heavy, not a negative as it adds to the sturdy feel especially if you rotate the screen regularly. The Benq doesn't allow you to rotate the screen. Not a problem for me.
Screen Size: The Benq is slightly bigger and feels like it's has a greater aspect ratio than 16:9, closer to 16:10, which I'm sure isn't correct but I like it nontheless!
Looks: The Benq looks more fun and the Viewsonic business like. Both look great imho.
There you go! Happy to answer any comments.
*Please note* I have always disliked Benq monitors (used some at work 7 years ago and hated them, hurt my eyes) and have used a Viewsonic at home since 2013 which I like, so please consider this a completely unbiased review.

Great review! I must say, B.I.+ isn’t marketing BS. It’s my favorite feature on this monitor. I bought this monitor for CS GO. I don’t use FPS mode but Game HDRi instead. FPS mode allows for use of the black equalizer. Setting it at 7-8 it looks the same as Game HDRi mode. Using Game HDRi mode I get the added benefit of Brightness intelligence +. Imagine having the perfect brightness every time. On the chin of the monitor there is a sensor that detects light. When turning on a second light source a little eye ball appears in bottom right hand corner adjusting the brightness. I will never own a monitor without B.I.+.

It pretty much means black colors and black screens will appear more grey and less actual black in the dark. If you don’t mind it’s fine but if it hurts your immersion get some ambient lights like a desk lamp or some LEDs to defuse the light. Personally I always point the desk lamp behind my lg ul600 at night and it drastically improves the blacks at night. During the day you’ll be fine because natural light will defuse the screen so blacks will looks black.

@@visrupt I have this exact monitor. I also have a 27 inch Acer 1440P monitor. It’s XF270HU. I paid 299.99 for it brand new off amazon. I’m an Amazon Vine member(google it if you do what it is) so I got this BenQ monitor off that for review. Anyways my point is the 27 inch 1440p monitor cost just 50 dollars more and I would rather have/play on it 10-1 over the 1080P screen. People that still praise/play on 1080p either haven’t tried a higher resolution, are E-Sport pros, or their PC isn’t powerful enough to do high FPS gaming at a higher resolution. This monitor is indeed very nice. My Acer is a 144hz 1440P 1ms Freesync monitor and this is a 144hz 1080P 1ms Freesync monitor. There are more minor variances as well. But the point is this is a premium 1080p monitor and my Acer is an entry level 1440P and it is by far superior for everything imo to me and cost 50 dollars more for a bigger screen and higher resolution. Almost 80% more pixels actually and a higher pixel density as well even vs a 1080P 24in screen. I can’t even game on the 1080P monitor with my PC now it’s only for when the new consoles release to do 1080P 120hz mode. So to each their own I guess. Most people that say they will stick with 1080P I find haven’t even tried a higher resolution and DLSS and DSR doesn’t count. Both are trash imo but DLSS has potential. I have a Ryzen 3700X and RTX 2070 Super(plan on upgrading if 3080s ever freaking get in stock) with 32GB of 3600mhz CL16 memory and I can play anything I want at 1440P all ultra settings and always average over 100 FPS usually around 120. Anyone that says they can tell a diff between 100 FPS and 144 is full of shit. LTT tested blindly pro E-sports players and Shroud and they all could barely tell a diff up to 100. 30-60 is huge even for an average player so pretty much most of the world. Even 60-100 I’d say is noticed by most by 120-144 hell no. That’s what I loose by going to 1440p. Around 25-30 FPS so I go from 140+ to around 110-120 and this is only on demanding AAA games which I have videos up showing. In e-sports, older, indie games, etc it’s 200 plus easy. This is all Ultra settings I’m talking about. So I mean the huge huge majority of us are not professional players and we play for fun. A 1440P monitor that’s not junk(entry level doesn’t mean junk if you look around) in my experience from letting people try it in person they almost always choose the 1440p. Maybe your different I guess idk and that’s fine. I just disagree with rather paying 250 when you can pay 50 more for a bigger 1440P monitor. Also I’m curious you mention 24in 1440p wanting s good deal that most are 1080P which is correct but what’s wrong with 27inch? A 27 inch 1440P still has a higher pixel density than a 24 1080P and you gain a larger screen. Some reason you can’t use over a 24in monitor? I mean I sit super close to mine and I find it’s still easy to see the entire screen at once. Anything larger I do have trouble. I’ve reviewed a few 28 inch and 32inch monitors for Amazon Vine and they are a little too big for my taste. I guess 27in possibly falls into that category for you as well? Anyways if your interested in a 1440P monitor and can use a 27in you can find some real descent ones now for not much more than this 1080p one. Especially with Cyber Monday coming up be on the lookout.

They aren't worth it nowadays. GPUs are being designed for 1440p/4k gaming, so 1080p panels are kinda outdated unless strictly after 240hz/360hz, but even then those are also diminishing returns. Just go with a decent 1440p 165hz like G27QC at around $300 or so, much better buy.

Just bought it 2 days ago......in addition to gimmicky HDRi, black equalizer is useful in FPS or dark scene(due to its terrible contrast ratio) and B.I.+ is also useful when you're gonna binge watching videos without the need to tune the brightness. Something needs to notice is that the stand is huge and not very space-efficient. For the depth of desk less than 600mm consider a VESA mount.

ips panels are really good now for competitive gaming, people who still use tn panels are the pros who really wants to get the most out of everything to gain an edge, but if you're not at that stage then go for this panel.

There is disclaimer with the xl2411k, the DyAc enabled lowers the brightness by a little. I didn’t like that. I thought about the 240hz zowie because the brightness wasnt affected by DyAc for $499 but its not worth the extra money because im on console. You can only get to 120hz with series x.

Em, marketing on decent speakers was actually one of things that caught my interest. Because it'd be useful to have convenient option for external sound, just in case. Like when getting a guest over in house. I've also heard that people uses pcs for playing music, but I'm not one of those weirdoes mostly. But interesting to see how I didn't took notice of any of other extra bunk marketing features, like brightness sensor and the bullcrap hdr button.
