8:23 City card - I don't believe you get an increase in Megacredit production when placing a city from a card. That Megacredit production increase is only if you do it as a standard project. I believe that is the case for all of the cards where you place the city.
@@samirjafri191 in fact it's whenever you place a city tile, that's whether via standard project or card and it includes the city you place as you play immigrant cities! Thanks for your comments, I'm glad I'm still being watched after all these years :)
@MrHypocrism I am wondering where you see this in the rules. I am not disagreeing, but I just want to make sure I am playing correctly. On page 5 of the rules, where it talks about tile placement, it says nothing about raising your income when placing a city tile. On page 10 where it talks about standard projects is the only place it mentions raising income with building a city. My understanding is that placing a city does not automatically increase income unless it is specifically indicated like it is with the standard projects.
@@samirjafri191 The card I'm talking about at the time you indicated is immigrant city, which adds the effect that each new city tile you place gives one money production. Outside of that card, you'd be correct that city placement in itself doesn't increase money production (although most city cards do add money production separately, as does a standard project).
Excellent strategy guide. Thank you! I will definitely follow your work and wish that you review the gaming strategies of some other games that are of interrest to me.
Interestingly, my thoughts on ground game have really evolved, and I've almost finished writing my script for a followup video, which will include thoughts about some of the best spots to actually put cities in!
The middle position for yellow greenery at 14:20 is not a more 'critical' loss than any of the green greeneries. If the middle yellow is blocked, you still get 6(9) points for 6 squares, if any of the green is blocked, you get 4(6) points for 5 squares. The yellow formation is simply more effective.
Right, and you don't get 1 megacredit production for each adjacent city with the card he was referring to. You get 1 victory point (per city) at the end of the game with it.
great analysis of the game. You have a good way of speaking and you dont have issues putting the facts straight.
It is easy to follow, thanks!
Very nice and clear explanation
Interplanetary Cinematics and Mining Guild are also connected with ground game (many events anable you to place a special terrain).

Which others do you enjoy? I'll oblige if our collection overlaps!
Would be helpful to know more about the overall board strategy (like building my noctis vs the bottom part of the map) It might be in another video.

Helpful video. One small mis-speak at 11:12 (said "Megacredit" instead of "Victory Point")
Andrew Wheeland mega credit-MC refers to your cash production in the game

Thanks, very helpful!
Wish me luck playing tomorrow
How did it go?
Woo Tharsis!!
With all expansions, ground game is doomed to lose.
