    'Faith VS Feelings". Everytime I hear something like that, I'm reminded of these 2mormon boys who approached me outside. They tried to hand me their bible, pleading with me: "Just read it. And after you read it, just notice how you feel. Everyone who gives it a chance & just reads it feels a warm sense of peace afterward, and that's how you'll know it's real". I'm so grateful to Jesus that I knew better, but I immediately thought about how many ppl DON'T know what a trick of the devil that is. Manoman, my heart was GRIEVED! And of course I prayed. More that day than I ever had/have most days. Mostly for those *babies who probably have never known any other doctrine. (*I have 2boys, & these two were my boys age). I don't know why I'm sharing this, it was just a moment I'll never forget.

    I respectfully disagree with pre-destination. The Bible, when read in the context of the entire Scriptures reveals a God who wants all to be saved, so much so that He gave His life to save not just the elect, but the whole world. (John 1:29; 3:16; 1 Tim. 4:10; 1 John 2:2. He desires all to be saved and has no pleasure in the death of the wicked. (Ezek. 18:23, 32; 33:11; 1 Tim. 2:4; 2 Pet. 3:9) When Christ died, he freed mankind from the power of Satan (John 12:31-32; Col. 2:14-15; Heb. 2:14-15) and now offers the hope of eternal life to all through the gospel. (See Romans 1:16; 10:14-17; 1 Cor. 15:1-2; Eph. 1:13; 2 Thess. 2:13-14) Based upon these and other Scriptures, the method God has chosen to call people to Himself is the proclamation of the gospel. All who hear the gospel have a genuine chance to believe, and their refusal to believe is not because God did not do what was in His power to bring them to Himself, but because they chose to resist Him. We have a real choice to believe or to not believe. It is not a choice programmed in us by our Maker. He is great enough to create us to be moral agents, not preprogrammed robots.

      The verses that talk about the world are speaking of people from every tribe, and tongue and nation., not every single person who ever lived. He died for those who were chosen - His sheep - as He states in John 10. Jesus' death on the cross is the atonement for sin. If that was for all sin for every person, then God would be unjust to send anyone to hell, because His Son would have already paid the penalty. Jesus died "for those the Father gave Him." (John 17) You are correct that the Gospel call is how people hear so they can respond, but not everyone who hears can understand and respond. They can't unless the Holy Spirit has regenerated their dead, stoney hearts and turned them into hearts of flesh. Some people cannot. Just like Jesus explains why some cannot understand the parables. (Luke 8:10). Romans 9-11 is very clear that God chose an elect group of people. There are Scripture all throughout Old and New Testament that say so too. It may be a hard doctrine to come to grips with, but at some point it's undeniable.

    I came across this video semi-randomly and I am glad I did. I remember the first time that the gospel of election became real to me. It happened when I started studying the word for myself and I got to Romans 9. Just like you guys said, I couldn't unread it or un-understand it, but my Arminian upbringing, and no doubt pride, contributed to a dark time of depression and questioning, it's a 5-year story, but God held me through it all and I know that he truly chose me and saved me because if it was up to me I would have surely fallen away with all that I went through in my mind.

      Thank you for your comment! When the truth of that doctrine hits you, it is something most of us have to grapple with. That's partly because at first it seems unfair to others, but there's also a part of it that some of us (speaking only for ourselves) fight against because it means you really aren't your own boss and you have to finally humble yourself and realize you really are a totally empty-handed beggar before God! That was an eye opening moment, but it definitely is something that once you see it in Scripture, you see it all the way through. Thanks again for sharing with us!

May I ask if there is any book or sermon which explains why Susan says Church of Christ doctrine is wrong? Also what is the story behind Church of Christ & International Church of Christ? I know of a Reformed church where the pastor always speaks with an angry face & has offended many people. Among those he offended was my cousin's wife where he said to her, "Do you know who I am?" referring to himself of course. He is famous & always on national TV. Thank you Susan & these 2 wonderful ladies for your interview. I learnt a lot from this video. God bless all you. Much love from Melbourne, Australia.🥰

      Hi Loulou! Thanks so much for the comment! Praise God that you are listening to and learning God's Truth! We are sorry that you had a bad experience in a Reformed church. Although Reformed theology is solidly Biblical, its churches, pastors, and followers are flawed human beings who fight the battle with sin. And, of course, the Reformed church is not immune to having wolves in sheep's clothing within them. Please do not let one bad church or pastor keep you from following the theology and doctrine that our Reformer fathers fought for! As far as the Church of Christ, GotQuestions.org had a good article on it that I think you will find helpful. Here is the link: www.gotquestions.org/Church-of-Christ.html

Start with just a chunk of a book. As Susan said, if you read it really fast, it does help you retain it. Just keep replaying the recording and saying it out loud. Once you memorize the first chunk, add more while you keep practicing the parts already memorized. This is the best method I know. I’m not sure if there’s an App to help further, but I have found this method to be very effective. Let us know how it’s going!!!

One of the churches I looked into has a women's bible study by priscilla shriver. You can also Google “Reformed churches in Moore, OK.” We know what you mean about it being tough finding a solid church - it is tough, but they are out there! Don’t settle for less. • @Proverbs910Ministries
      @Proverbs910Ministries  3 года назад

      Hi Rena! Thanks for the question!
      Reformed theology is what the reformer fathers fought for. It is Biblical Christianity. It is comprised of the 5 solas from the reformation -
      1. Sola Fide - Faith Alone -
      2. Sola Christus - In Christ Alone
      3. Sola Gratia - through Grace Alone
      4. Sola Deo Gloria - to the Glory of God Alone
      These first 4 Solas are summed up by Paul in Eph 2:8 8 - 10, “ For it is by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing, this is a gift from God; not a result of works, so that no one may boast
      5. Sola Scriptura - Scripture Alone - The Bible is the only authority we are to use for the things of God. Experiences, emotions, and tradition may have a place in our sanctification, but they are never to be used or viewed equal to or above Scripture. Some verses that reinforce this truth are Prov 30:5 - 6, Matthew 4:4, 2Tim 3:15-17, Mark 7:5-9, and Prov 28:26 - just to name a few
      In a nutshell, Reformed theology is the theology taught in Scripture - that God is sovereign over every single thing in the entire universe. He is sovereign over every person and every action. This means He is sovereign over our salvation, our sanctification, and our ability to understand what the Bible tells us. Some of the many, many verses that back this up are Rom 9:14-26, Eph 1:4-5, Deut 7:6-8, and John 17:1-12
      And while He is sovereign over sin, too, He never forces anyone to sin - He doesn’t have to! Therefore, we are responsible for our own sin. However, God does work through sin to accomplish His purposes and plan.
      We hope that helps! Feel free to rely back with any other questions or things that we didn’t explain clearly enough!

    • @Proverbs910Ministries
      @Proverbs910Ministries  3 года назад

      2 Tim. 4:3-4 says, “For the time is coming when [people] will not tolerate (endure) sound and wholesome instruction, but, having ears itching [for something pleasing and gratifying], they will gather to themselves one teacher after another to a considerable number, chosen to satisfy their own liking and to foster the errors they hold, And will turn aside from hearing the truth and wander off into myths and man-made fictions.” It’s something we have seen played out many, many times and heard others’ stories about, such as your own! Obviously prayer is the one thing we can always do. And you can mention that you’re praying that their eyes are opened. It’s probably best to not argue or they may just dig their heels in more. If they do bring up a subject and talk about some thing in a wrong way, you can always ask them to show you where the Bible says that, snd then show them the truth. But we have to recognize that some people will just never want to see the truth, so they never will. There is the possibility that they may never have heard what true teaching and preaching is like. Sometimes when someone who is entrenched in listening to the people you mentioned and others like them, they have no idea what actually learning the Bible is like because they know no different! Maybe pick out a few sermons from really solid teachers and ask them if they would please just listen and tell you what they thought?

    I think the 3 things most people can't get past is God's soverignty, and that God owes us nothing. And that unless we are born again first, we will not and cannot believe and repent in the first place.

    I believe in Scripture, and have seen the error in judging others. I know that a teaching from the mid 1800's about praying Jesus into your heart for salvation is in direct opposition to the Scriptures, which teaches repentance and immersion for forgiveness of sin and receipt of the Holy Spirit -- the key to the Kingdom of Heaven first preached by Peter in Acts 2. When i hear preachers preach the salvation fallacy, i throw out that part, and keep the part of their message that parallels Scripture. Dismissing them altogether would be catastrophic to the unification of the church body, to their own salvation amd to the salvation of those led astray by false doctrine.. Our Abba has placed it heavy on my heart to gather local preachers who have the passion and zeal to serve Him, and pair them with those who have been given the key to the Kingdom through His Revelation and correct discernment of His Word. The knowledge and understanding He opened your eyes to needs to be coupled with grace and mercy, and less judgment. Speak so they will listen, as Paul directed Timothy. In that way, the gift given you of knowing His truth can be made plain and palatable to those who will cry, "Lord, Lord...' and not be turned away by Him on the day of judgment, but welcomed in. We merely plant and water seeds, He makes it grow according to His mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment, and wisdom is freely given to all who ask.

      I deeply apologize that we did not reply to your comment sooner. Somehow, it got lost in the mix. I am happy to point out what is wrong with Joyce Meyer, although I could not possibly fit it all into one comment. So I will try to be concise. She is part of the Word of Faith movement. A heretic, deceitful movement that takes advantage of people while teaching them lies. We did a whole podcast episode on it called "Name It and Claim It," which I invite you to listen to. Here's the RUclips link:
      ruclips.net/video/u6eXNwjnPF8/видео.html
      But the short answer is that she believes, and teaches, that God is a way to a means. Obey God and you will have the life you want to live. God will shower you with blessings, God wants you to be happy and healthy. This example is heretical and destructive on two counts - first, we are to obey God because we love Him not to try and get things from Him. He is not our sugar daddy! Second, Jesus clearly tells us that in this world we will have trouble. And the purpose of our suffering and trials is to sanctify us, and grow us closer to Him. We are to rely on God because He always works everything for our spiritual good - not necessarily our earthly good. Wish I had more space to continue! My best advice, put what she says up against Scripture, stretch out what she teaches to its logical conclusion; you, too, will see the lies and heresy in it. Thanks for the comment, sister, and again, I apologize for the delay in reply!

    2 Peter 3:9 "The Lord is not slow to fulfill His promise but is patient toward you, not willing that ANY should perish but that ALL should reach repentance."
    God's heart is that ALL would know Him. We have free will. Predestination does not dictate our own determination. Joshua said "Choose this day whom you will serve." Hebrews 3:12 Tells saints to be careful that you are not led away or fall away from the living God.
    Mt 24:10 Jesus said many will fall away.
    You cannot fall away from what you did not embrace.
    I am saddened for Joyce & Beth and don't find it appropriate for women of God to tell me to pour dirty cat litter on their teachings. They need our prayers...imagine if God moved them to repent of their false teachings publicly and the numbers that would hear.

      Thank you for your comment! First, we continuously pray that false teachers repent and come to the Truth. But they need to be called out because they are leading millions astray with their lies. The doctrine of Election is evident throughout the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation. To think that we have some part in our salvation is to rob God of His due Glory and to say that He wants to save everyone, but does not have the power to do so. That is heresy. While from an earthly perspective, our decision to make Jesus our Lord and Savior is the biggest decision we will ever make, it has already been determined before the foundation of the world those God has chosen to save. The only reason we come to Jesus is because the Holy Spirit has regenerated our dead hearts; and all those He regenerates will come to Christ.
      In the 2 Peter verse you quote, Peter is talking about all God’s people, not all people. Again, it’s a matter of putting it into context with the surrounding passages and with the rest of Scripture. It’s the same with the other verses
      We hope this helps! Thanks for the dialogue!

      Free will does not save anyone. You must be born again. God saves us by Himself from Himself. We are all born in sin. We are slaves to sin until He gives us life through Christ crucified. Salvation is not a human decision. It is Divine Accomplishment.

      Please show me where the Bible speaks on free will. Public ministries are open to public criticism. Do all people get saved? Why not? People who think that salvation is a human choice are a pain in the neck. The Gospel is Christ Crucified not ask Jesus into your heart. He is not needy or desperate. He does whatever He pleases. Honestly, the free will of God scares me. Humility before Him who is Holy. Romans 1...He turns people over to their sins. Check your doctrine carefully. Truth dies when people play the "nice" card to discredit the truth teller. The world is not our friend.
