- There had seemingly been no limit to the grand political ambitions of Maximilian II Emanuel, but he ultimately failed to turn any of them into reality. One of his greatest schemes would on the other hand be realized by his son, Charles Albert. In 1742 he became the Holy Roman Emperor Charles VII, and thereby dethroned the Habsburgs from that position for the first time in centuries.

Pleaseeeee give us a video about Pedro II of Brazil
Your videos are so incredible!

Thanks, I appreciate it :)
@@kingsandthings great video (love from Bavaria)
As a Bavarian it comes naturally to tell everyone in my immediate area of this great accomplished ^^
@@rin_etoware_2989 Austrians are Bavarians not the other way around. So ur comment makes no sense ^^
Hi, I'm a Seckendorff, please give me the 10th of your income. Thank you.
No great accomplishment at all, neither for himself nor for his family - and it nearly lost him Bavaria in the process lol
@@chriskershaw7968 ahhh i see u have watched the video too
@@Your_Eagle_One nope, lol - I am a Habsburg royalist though and so I know the story and fate of the person who tried to usurp power from our beloved rightful dynasty ^^
I am not surprised that another member of the same Bavarian family later betrayed another rightful Habsburg Emperor - for a kingship by Napoleon's grace... "kings" of Bavaria by writ of a Corsican general... could only have been worse if it had been by a "Bohemian private".
Another outstanding video. Thank you.
Love Your Channel! Keep Up The Good Work!
Just found this channel and love it. Let the binging begin lol 🥰🤩
Subscribed !! brilliant channel - always wanted to understand what happened with the Maria Theresa succession crisis.
That burn about Ignaz Felix must still be felt by his descendants
My favorite person in history. Aspired to the highest office and took it through war and diplomacy. Love knowing that the monarchs of Europe had to bow down to the Duke of Bavaria for three years.
Do you make video about Mathias Corvinus or Sigismund of Luxembourg ?
Great video, as always!
Thanks, i needed this for my work.
Great videos ! What sources do you use for these, would love to know more ?
RIPelsbach. How many times did he get ejected from his domain?
8:45 DANG, so much shade :D

Ludwig IV was far more successful. Though He probably shouldn't have split his lands between his sons and nephews.
Reddidit ipse pronis victricia signa Polonis,
They should have a different narrator for this video. The man speaking puts me to sleep and there is no animation to his voice.
Why don't you do it better.....we are waiting
He crowned himself emporer and wasent recognized
he was recognised by the electors, that's enough
Maybe it would be better the Austro-Hungary ruled by Wittelsbach rather then those degenerated Hapsburgs. Kaiserin Sisy, she was example of fresh wind.
Redicouless
Ridiculous
If it were not for the Habsburgs, Austria would have been merely a marginal German province at best and a Hungarian province at worst.
I'm Hungarian and Austria as a Hungarian prowince, sounds interesting. @@علي_حرية
the Holy Roman empire was never holy never Roman and never an empire.
That was a JOKE from Voltaire. At his time he might have been quite right as the HRE was about to fade into oblivion. But it WAS Roman as Italy belonged to the Empire for hundreds of years, also HOLY as the Emperors have been crowned by the Pope, and of course was it an empire if there ever has been one. It lasted 1.000 years (~800-1800 AD), just as the Byzantine Empire (~400-1453 AD) whereas the original Roman Empire only lasted 500 years (~27 BC-476 AD).
@@hape3862 its ironic that the same people who brought down the roman empire then claimed to be the successor of it
@@hape3862 Italian =\= Roman and I’m Italian
@@someone-wh2rb It is too easy to claim the Germanic tribes had brought down the Roman Empire. As it will be too easy for future historians that the illegal Mexican immigrants brought down the American Empire in the 21st century. Empires rot from inside …
