    That's beautiful, I especially love the mature denison barbs. With mature fish like that you might try doing a species only tank and seeing if they'll spawn for you.

    Congratulations, your tank is one of the best set ups l have seen in a long time. Am going to pinch a few ideas off you, especially your large log/tree. After repairing a leek in my 600g tank l am thinking of centering the tank around a very large school of red line torpedoes. All the information l can gather states they are a sub tropical fish, yet you tube videos show them with African cichlids to Discus. More research l think, your vidio is very inspiring, thanks.

    I really like this fish but i wish they were a bit skinny. My roselines are becoming fat too they are so fast when eating if I feed less my other fish would starve.

    • @larsalbertsson5533
      @larsalbertsson5533 Год назад

      Yea they eat very fast. I had to “over feed” so other fish had the chance of getting food. I guess if they get to live in a tank with very powerful water flow they wouldn’t catch same weight.

    Unbelievable aquascape and I love that you kept the big tank simple with stocking... you didn’t try to shove 100 red tail cats and an arrowana in a 190g tank! Kept it simple with the angels, Plecos, and the school of Denison barbs (which are just as amazing as any big fish)! How did you do the driftwood hanging down from the top?

    try to breed them by selecting most colorful pair . one of Ur fish got double black line . it look like female. red line reached more than half its body length .
    I am from India .this fish originated from our state . once I saw a local TV program about breeding thus fish .
    breeder first select most colorful pair and used Dry Method of Fertilization (Hand-stripping) after treating them with tranquilizing solution.

    • @TheBSideDJ
      @TheBSideDJ 6 лет назад

      koo koo, this is very interesting what you're telling us. Did the hand-stripping after treatment work ? Are the eggs already furtilisated by the males before laying eggs ? Did your breeding program had any success... I want denisonni but i don't want them if they are endangered species. Can you give me some more information about your breeding strategy.

    Nice Aquarium. The denisoniis have a big appetite and are very quick eaters . How do you maintain the diet of the plecos? At which temperature do you keep your fish?

    • @iLive2Ride76
      @iLive2Ride76  7 лет назад

      +Rupert Vogl you're absolutely right on that. Simplest way is to feed the plecos when the light is out. I also feed them vegetables and the denisonii DONT eat vegetables 😂. I feed a lot of food so some of the food hides in plants, rocks etc so the corys don't starve.
      I try to keep 25 degrees Celsius. It gets a little warmer at summertime.

    • @m4l4ch1
      @m4l4ch1 7 лет назад

      Thank you for your replay, Lars. Some plecos may prefer a slightly higher temperature, but 25 degrees Celsius could be a good compromise. My denisonii aquarium has 25 degrees Celsius as well and I keep some plecos, too. And we are at the same way in feeding the catfish when denisnii sleeps. ;)

    • @iLive2Ride76
      @iLive2Ride76  6 лет назад

      They absolutely become more reddish when they get older. It can also be because of bad breeders. Don’t know how many you’ve got but they tend to colour up more if they’re at least 6 or more. And of course food variations is good. Maybe you could try some colour enhancement foods?

    • @iLive2Ride76
      @iLive2Ride76  7 лет назад

      Valz Albo hey. Hard to tell but some pointers...
      Is the tank big enough? They prefer longer tanks.
      Maybe if you had more than 3, because they do better in a bigger group.
      They also prefer a lot of oxygen in the water so a good circulation is optimal.
      Optimal water parameters is 22-28 degrees Celsius, 6-8ph and 5-15 dGH.
      Hope this helps.
