Although Richard Milles look a bit like Audemars Piguets, they are a truly unique brand. They look both retro and toy-like, and very futuristic and industrial at the same time.

Rolex is mass-produced, RMs are all limited. Its a marketing strategy and it works since he was and still is a marketing expert. The less you make, the more you charge. Each piece is made for an athlete/influencer/actor. He's made one set of 5, not sure which number, and they cost a little over 175,000$ brand new, collectors are selling them for millions. So its another reason to purchase these watches, the resell value is very high and always on the rise. Never goes down unless its flooded in aftermarket diamonds.
Meanwhile Rolex makes hundreds of thousands of watches now. The older models that still have box and papers and mint condition can expect a profit, and some limited pieces like Mother of all Pearls, The hulk, The pepsi, The Coca Cola, The rainbow diamond bezel and other. 😊
Patek Phillipe and Audemars Piguet produce more than RM but less than Rolex, and its not easy to buy AP and PP brand new. Some Pateks have a waiting list of 8+ years.

@@vimalcurio In this case, because its easy to spot the calendar issue. In the gen, the calendar uses a cutted numbers, like numbers without any base under. In this rep, the calendar (located in 12 o'clock position) is a simple disc with numbers printed on. Easy tell too because the font are completely wrong.
I am probably going to get stomped on for saying this but if someone said that Richard Mille's watches costed around 200-400 dollars before I knew about the brand I would believe them. Especially when it comes to the rubber bracelets that they use on most of their watches for some reason which by the way adds to the cheap look.
the watch is basically made to sit on a tennis players wrist that explains the band but they do wear very quickly. The design itself is very subjective. But there’s no denying that the engineering that goes into a Richard mille is incredible.
I agree, the engineering behind the complications are top of the line. The design is subjective from person to person but in my opinion there are alot of other sports watches that look alot better and for less money.

RM is always flashy. I missed some incognito models. The good thing is that you use your watch when you are in action. See how Roger Federer wear no Rolex when playing, and after the match he put on his Rolex. Nadal use his RM when playing tennis. I hope that sone good watchmakers can make an automatic watch which can resist high presure when hitting a tennis ball. Hybrid technology like activate quarts and lock the automatc movement, and unlock the automatic movement while you at a jetset party.

I like the see through mechanism and the super light weight but I want it in a more classy understated design but excellent watch. If you have one of those, I may buy you in the future Richard Mille.

Until now, I had not desire to use an expensive watch (I use to wear cheap watches when I was young). I don't care about brands and luxury (Rolex, Cartier, ...) but this type of watches are dfferent : precision ? carbon fiber ? 20-40 g ? Excellent ! Innovation ! That's the real value of an "expensive thing" for me, not diamonds and gold. Thanks !
