Kerry King from slayer on the guitar
The guitar player in this song is Kerry King from Slayer. The Beastie Boys, for obvious reasons, were friends with both the hip-hop acts like LL Cool J and Run DMC, as well as the metal bands of their generation like Anthrax and Slayer.
I owned "Licensed to Ill" (I was 12 when it came out) before I bought "Reign In Blood"...both Def Jam/Rick Rueben masterpieces.
Kerry king only played the guitar solo
They wrote this riding the train back to NYC after doing a show in Philly.. no sleep til they get home to Brooklyn!
but the name "No sleep till Brooklyn." is an homage to Motörhead's famous live album called "No Sleep till Hammersmith"
And “rymin and stealing” had to add that one!
I love seeing the younger generation realizing how awesome the music i grew up listening to is!
If you was wondering who the guitar player is... Kerry King from Slayer.
"Rock musicians can make a song about anything."
Beethoven:"Hold my beer"...composes a piano piece "Rage Over a Lost Penny".
Ludwig was the rock star of the 1700’s (along with Wolfgang) and 1800’s. He was a badass!
The 1 the only Kerry fucking King from Slayer played the guitar on that
"Car Thief" and every song from Paul's Boutique. Thank me later.
👆🏻YES!
That whole album is so great! It was one of my first cds 💿 I ever bought
@@mn-wk3ju Hell yeah.
If you haven’t reacted to “fight for your right” then you should do that one. That song got them started into the mainstream music.
Slow and Low... Hold it now Hit it.... posse in effect... new style
True - they didn't give a fuck, they had fun, and their music is fun. What more can you ask for?
“rhymin and stealing” is a great video of them in a real live prformance
Another great tune from my high school days!!!! Thx for playing it
When they bleep the words out it takes me back to the time when the parental advisory sticker first came out, crazy times
Also they bleep "he always smokes dust" but not "hoes"? 😄
"Brass Monkey" is one that didn't get as much love.
Not in recent reactions, but it sure did back in the day.
That one's funky.
Quality tune
What are you smoking? EVERYONE who loves the Beasties loves Brass Monkey!!!
No Sleep Til Brooklyn is probably inspired by Motörhead’s live album No Sleep Til Hammersmith. One of the greatest live albums of all time. It’s sort of a saying meaning you don’t stop until X is done.
not 'probably' they said it came from Motörhead's album
Awesome thanks again for another fun reacting yo! Eric B and Rakim “Follow the leader “ coolest hip hop rap song ever thanks again
Dope 🔥
Rappers who are also skilled on instruments adds to it for me.
MikeD- Drums
MCA- Keyboards
AdRock- Guitar
MCA played bass, not keyboards.
@@panrick True. I was going off of what I saw from a few videos. I might have mistaken.
They're crazy af Rock on 🤘 to the top 🤘
Dope loves
Awesome you guys rock
¨GIRLS¨ your most deepest song!!
Yo, y'all so young. I luv ya... keep searching... they are also a punk band...BOOM!
Love it!!!!
They r crazy
In the UK all the kids were nicking the VW motif off of cars and wearing them!
These are the jams on grew up on. Me and my best friend wore this cassette tape out back in the day..........
Underrated song: sounds of science by the beastie boys 🔥🔥🔥
The Beasties are always badass
Hey you're in my time machine.
This song was about heading back to Brooklyn, NY.
Godsmack - Under Your Scars
Imperfectly perfect rock love song
Brass Monkey, Sabotage, Intergalactic, Fight for your right, anything they ever released, you're golden.
Fun fact, the guitarist who played the solo at the end is Kerry King guitarist for a heavy heavy metal band called Slayer. Slayers worth a listen too
Early bleeped part is "our manager's crazy, he always smokes dust." Their manager was Rick Rubin, co-founder of Def Jam. He's also the guy in the gorilla suit.
I'd recommend "Root Down" by them next. Real old-school hip-hop shit.
No it was about Russell Simmons. He famously used to smoke dust. Rick Ruben wasn't into that sort of stuff. They've said in interviews it was about Russell.
Gotta check out "Hold it now, hit it". Beastie Boys at their best!
If you haven't done them yet, may I suggest 4 non Blondes "what's up", anything by Tori Amos, Paula Cole "where have all the cowboys gone?", and Joan Jett "I hate myself for loving you "
L gave it No yawns. Thats respect.
Old school rocks
Kerry king, hell yeah slaaayyyyeeerrr 🤘🤘
Thee very best Beastie Boys video is Make Some Noise, hands down. Y'all should definitely check it out
Y'all will love "High Plains Drifter" "The New Style" and "Rhymin' and Stealin'"
Get it together - Beastie Boys feat. Q-tip
gotta react to( its the new style,) old school New York hip hop crazy beats
Beastie boy's best track.
... BIG CLASSIC ... BIG SOUND ... BIG RESPECT ... OLD SCHOOL REPRESENT ... FUCK NEW SKOOL ...
They aren't a rock band, they are early rap
THEE Brooklyn is in New York.
No other Brooklyn matters. 😁
And MCA of The Beastie Boys is from Brooklyn.
Taxing ladies from here to LA lol
slayer
Besty boys are rapper's
If you haven't already Paul Revere, 3 and 1 dj. Can't go wrong with these guys.
If ya wanna know what metal is, play Slayer "Seasons in the abyss" with headphones. The whole album. That's who the guitarist is in this video. Its Awesome!
Party time 🎉🎸
Foxtrot Uniform Charley Kilo by Bloodhound Gang
Beastie Boyz fav vid is Sabotage
Guys “ the new style” with Dave chappelle. Another good one is when the do “sucker mc’s”for runs dmc. Another good one is “looking down the barrel of a gun”. “Posse in effect” on the show soul train. Trust me I told y’all before on this but I would not mislead you. The last one is “pass the mic” love, joe c.
Have you reacted to "3 M.C.'s and 1 D.J.", if not, you should
Check out Cant Trust it by Public Enemy
you should know they started out as a punk band before signing with Defjam
RIP MCA.
She got it right there’s only ONE REAL BROOKLYN
Check out "High Plains Drifter". The beat is so slinky, and all three of the boys pass the mic back and forth the whole song. It's probably one of the tightest examples of their lyricism.
Thats the difference between new school. 1 Rapper. Old School = an MC and a DJ. Beasties say it best with NAS, "too many Rappers, not enuf MC's." Look it up. It sums up the B Boys. Adidas Posse ALW.
Og geel
Check ya head
I went to the PO box. They said some crazy s like it's not mine. I went there though.
I'm old. Welcome to my teens. 🤪
Check out "The New Style" if you like the Beastie Boys
React to. . anthrax and public enemy.. bring the noise....
Load o olde shithe.
Play some......... Pour some Sugar on Me by Def Leppard
Please react to ,"she's on it" beastie boys next
Hey y'all check out "Alive"
Beastie Boys Whodini and Cypress Hill check them out yall
I don’t think that you guys have reacted to the Beastie Boys “Intergalactic” yet. “Intergalactic” was a huge hit but it wasn’t a rock song at all. It was straight hip hop. A lot of the rock community who liked The BBs were hurt that they traded their guitars for turn tables and whatever but I always loved that song anyway. Once you learn the lyrics it’s fun to rap along to.
Ladies and Genitalmen...Kerry King on guitar!
so whatcha want,,, ryhmin and stealin
They didn't even see the guys head fall off....
Anything off PAUL’S BOUTIQUE
Slayers guitarist. In case you didnt know.
RIP MCA..
When i was growing up 3 MCs were common. Look up RUN DMCorTHE FAT BOYS.
Can y'all please react to Motley Crue " Kickstart My Heart" or " Home Sweet Home" by the way love y'all :)!!💜
no and no
Why?
@@angyramirez8533 just a joke
@@tyleremanuelle4712 oh I was like hold up 😂, sorry about that
God no. They sucked when current and suck worse now - even Poison held up better than that walking Hepatitis lab - Vince's daughter is Karma coming back to him
Three jewish kids from New York spittin rhymes harder than any MC today
Did one of you guys transition?
Brass Monkey is such an awesome song by The Beastie Boys. Just check it out with the audio only, not the video. The video is just 3 random kids trying to lip sync (poorly) and it distracts from the song. But PLEASE check out Brass Monkey.
pass the mic is there best song
RIP MCA
make the bed.
Need a linkin park reaction
They're a rap band with rock beats...remember when Lil' Wayne started playing guitar? He could not pull it off. Not anywhere near this.
Easily dismissive until you realize this is essentially the first breakout white rap. And that explains the rock backing - which was more popular than rap at that point. Sorry to announce it, but there it is.
It's been awhile since I've heard anything about Beastie Boys but MCA is the only one that's dead.
