I’m moving to the Kokubunji area in July!!! I’ll have to go check this spot out! It looks delicious and you know I want to support Black business in Japan!!
Enjoyed the video! The food looked delicious. I was most inspired by the Chef's story how he never gave up on his dream. He stayed true to his convictions and it has paid off. Congrats!!!
Looks like the restaurant won the best restaurant in Kokubunji district award, no small feat as Kokubunji is a popular area to live in. Given that his restaurant is potentially the only one of its kind in the world (Italian/Arabic/Ghanaian), it makes sense that their innovation stands out. Hopefully this helps dispel some of the persisting ignorance and prejudice. Though, the silver lining of that rejection was that it inspired him to bring his inspiration and innovation to the world.
Especially if Japanese were cooking Italian food. So many stews breads from Africa are a similar basic style to Italian. African food seems awesome! Check our Mark Weins on RUclips to just see a lot of his food travels there! Especially Ghana
@@roughy762004 I don't think anyone is saying it's not their country. People are just against blanket discrimination no matter what country it happens in.
I guess we're just gonn ignore that a whole continent of ppl are having racism visited upon them. Every immigrant will not have the persistence and fortitude of this young man. I hope the Japanese ppl will change their attitudes or at least perhaps not complain when they're experiencing racism as an immigrant.

He's done fantastically well for himself despite the slow start. I swear racism is a disease of the mind. And funny how everyone of every religion, race and nationality goes to Africa to get rich. Anyhow, the food looks fantastic and delicious. Sirena is a wonderful place. Best wishes to Sammy.
That food looks so DELICIOUS!! Btw, I'm so sorry he was treated that way when first arrived in Japan, but I ADMIRE his perseverance until he became a success! Kudos to him AND may God bless him with even more success in the future. 👏👏👍👍🙏🙏❤❤
I've only been to Okinawa for 2 weeks for military operations back in 2004. I want to visit and tour but, I have no clue as to where to start nor do I know anyone black like me or otherwise. I don't know how to read, speak or write Japanese. BUT, I am respectful. Any help on getting started would be appreciated.
What I’d like to suggest- if you would consider it suitable is describing your experience with the food. The better food bloggers will say something like This salad dressing is phenomenal. It starts of very citrusy and then a burst of fresh herbs come through. This baked tomato has flavor unlike what I’ve tasted, it’s deep, sweet with a little tang and a hint of garlic whatever. What I said isn’t perfect at all but- You get what I’m saying… The food looked amazing! I hope you both had time to do an extended interview. Kudos to that young man. I definitely have to get to his restaurant when I get back to tokyo
I appreciate the suggestion, but I’m not those food bloggers. I pride myself on doing things my way and being Ranzo. If evolution happens it will happen naturally and organically. So, essentially I’ll do it my way. A lot of “mmm,” “this is amazing,” “wow!” Etc.

Looks delicious. The brother appears well experienced in the art of cuisines and is innovative. Perhaps that is why he's unqualified as an African. See all that he went through in Japan, but KFC and pizza companies are here in Ghana pricing their dieshes up and down. He should work on relocating to Africa since he can work and huge avialability of market .
Shocked these countries governments let anyone move to their countries (America, etc) and roll out the red carpet for them. But when we go to theirs America and other countries don’t even bother to enforce some ground rules like maybe "No discrimination against our citizens regardless of race or culture or we will not grant you funding or do business". Depends. Rejection could mean starvation or homelessness in some places even now, it certainly did all over in the past.
