You can get t-slot nuts with a ball bearing that you can flip into the t-slot profile anywhere - they don't need to be slid in from the end of the profile. You just need to know the slot size and you can also get lots of different thread sizes M6/M8 are usually the most useful
I know. thats the default. but they have a 2nd slot size with a 2nd t-nut that already has a ball bearing, you cannot get it in other than from the end of the profile.
Hi Nil, I'm using a BMW M2 GT2 steering wheel with a diameter of 320mm. In your opinion, is 320mm too wide to turn around in a chicane? And in your video I saw you using the Pedal without placing your heel on the Pedal pad, have you done that in your races?
it's an mk6 in this case, fits perfectly for me. The MK3 Standard should be closer to it than the xl. we still have one MK3 Standard in the basement to ship if you need one (EU)
@@SimracingPopometer in what condition is the mk3? With pads and mounting? I did not have the chance to sit in one. How tall or wide does one need to be for the xl size?

Hey not sure if I missed it in the video. But where or what are those extenders he used for the monitor arm? I am currently rig shopping and I love the f-gt but also worry as to how far back the monitor sits compared to the wheel. I’m a short dude 5.5. So I worry about the monitor distance and the vertical extrusion arms poking up in the way.
these are just some parts I had left over of the old rig. just 40x40 aluminum profiles. about the vertical beams being very long you'll just need to find a way to sit higher so you can also move up the steering mount... "just" :)
i think its almost the default setting? :) in the settings of "video" select your canvas and output resolution (just the same for both) and thats it. make sure you are not setting anything lower than that in the stream or output settings.
Superb setup, can you tell me the distance from head to the monitor and the FOV you are using in ACC? I'm using the Odyssey G9 with 65cm distance from head to monitor and 34° FOV in ACC.
Rig looks quite sleek with those slightly angled beams. The seat looks interesting. I'm still not fully convinced which type of seat is best. A bucket seat has the advantage of securing you more in seating position, especially when using belts - those are not only immersive, but they really can help keep you in a fixed position when frantic rim action is happening. A seat like your's might not give the best support for shoulders... but I like the concept of not sitting on too much soft padding, which can more often serve more as a sponge for sweat rather than giving comfort, haha. I also like the clean look of your rig, the way you positioned it and obviously you gave it a dedicated room or at least a specific space in a room... I did the same in my living room, my rig sits in a corner only reserved for the rig, there's nothing else there that is not intended for the rig. It just makes you feel more in the zone, rather than having to cramp it somewhere in between and always having the feel it consumes valuable space in the room or you have to walk a lot around it to get elsewhere in the room. Very cool, sleek and nice looking rig, Mr. Naujoks! 10/10!
Its a bit more training for the ABS maybe. But overall you don't really need support in the sim rig, as nothing moves and you don't need to be protected from impacts. These seats are used in custom built lotus super 7s - or "eldon roadster" as that vendor calls them. If they're fine for that, they surely are for the rig :D The main thing is how deep your lower back goes in those bucket seats. This here has much better support around the lower back and doesn't let it bend too much. After long races I previously had issues with the lower back, despite training that area specifically. This is completely gone now. And yes, I tried to give the rig half the room pretty much. I can still walk around it and reach everything without being in much compromised positions. And it looks better on stream that way for sure :)
@@SimracingPopometer Yes, I hear you... I'm in my early 40s now. I have a cheap Trak Racer Bucket seat, but I think it's comfy. I set it into a position suggested by a real GT-driver (not specifically to me, I don't know the guy, hahaha), and it was a major improvement. Never had real problems with my lower back, but I felt more strain in it when I had it in the for sim racing typical very upright position. Now my whole back is being supported by the seat and all braking power goes into my whole back. But honestly your seat looks more ergonomical and Will Ford from Boosted Media said a similar thing like you and his seat looks very similar to yours. So... maybe you guys are right.
@@SimracingPopometer Wow, if my reading is correct, those seats are very reasonable priced, especially in comparison to the brands, that are established in sim racing! Thank you very much, Nils, I will seriously look and think about them!
i have the 49" samsung on a TR160 rig, but it flops like crazy. The idea of the supports sounds good, but my screen is just too forward from the center line to install those. i also have fans , so that doesn't help
Sir Nils I noticed I can look through your left window and at the same time see your entire dashboard. Just wondering if I could effectively replicate this view with a smaller 34inch ultra. Your monitor looks bigger. Thank you.
even if answered already on discord: without the 49" it will be hard to get the same. You either use higher FOV to get the same amount of car onto the screen at a cost of losing some perception of tiny changes in rotation - or you accept to lose some pixels left and right to keep a more similar fov. moving the seat can't do wonders, as the camera will eventually be inside the 3D model of the driver
The monitor "rest" is actually genuis
Should be height adjustable though
I wish NLR would come out with their rig-addon kit for owners of their DD wheelstand.
