Totale Reitermania! :) I actually had not seen this one yet. I used to listen to them a lot and also have seen them live several times. They are a really great and energetic live band btw! I just kind of lost track of them a bit lately.
I saw Die Apokalyptischen Reiter live once. It was May 20th 2006. The Day Lordi obliterated the ESC. Die Apokalyptischen Reiter were support for In Extremo. Unfortunately they could only play 2 Songs before all hell broke loose and their show had to be canceled. The weather got so bad so fast that it wasn't save to continue the open air concert. The weirdest part was that the weather was really great before the concert. You could see right through the Stage since there was literally no back set up. The Moment they started playing it went so dark so fast behind them that it was actually really fitting to someone called the horsemen of the apocalypse. After the first song heavy rain started and during the second song it was a really heavy thunderstorm. After they stopped it went on for another hour or so and then it was back to a beautiful, dry summer night and In Extremo played their set with like 15 minutes delay. Still those 2 songs they could play were amazing. Iirc the first was Wahnsinn

This was like watching a Tool video with live actors. Very sparse but it works very well with the song. And kudos to the athleticism of those two!

The lyrics are a bit old fashioned and highly poetic. The similarity to Rammstein in this song is very obvious.
absolutley not, blast beats, growling, no pounding guitar riff with simple drum beat and no electronic sounds. the only similarity is the deep german voice. but deep german voice is not just reserved for rammstein.
der Tod is "the death" rather than "deaf."
