Nothing grabs the eye like the sweeping intensity of a rotator bar. LEDs and Strobes just don't draw the eye in as much unless you are already looking in that direction.

I have a soft spot for the rotary light bars like that. Something about them looks nice. You guys need to review the light bars that Toronto PD uses in Canada! They got newer style rotary lights and they look good.
Federal Signal Navigator is the replacement for the Code 3 Excalibur Toronto Police Services uses. Was a great change with more features using the Navigator.
Love it!! Leave it there! It's foot print in terms of visibility is awesome. The colors shine true. It's not hard on the eyes but still provides great warning. And to be fair, there are still great rotators on the market that are new! So it's not like they went away really. Some of the best lights out now are still rotators. The new SLR being one of a few beacon based products. The Navigator, Hell, even the LED Roatabeam does a good job.

The human eye will always pay attention to a pattern more then just some random flashing light. Hence the rotator or the DVI pattern of Whelen.
