Hey all I've seen a lot of comments about the putting so I thought I'd address them is one message.
Camera angles can do some very trippy things. The camera is not looking directly down the line so it appears the ball is coming off left. I will in the future try and do a down the line view in these videos. 👍 Alignemnt is also a big thing trying to calibrate two units to be the exact same zero offset it really hard. Especially with one jumping around. I have used the unit for about a month and can tell you from all the experience I've had with golf sims that the putting experience is not as good as a gc3, eye mini or protee.. or even the square. This is my opinion from using the decide for a long time and having a lot of experience in this area. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion 👍 I think putting is at a point now where it's usable in GS Pro with the putting assist algorithm. But it's not as accurate or as consistent as my other devices.
I think the Garmin is an AMAZING device for full shot data it's incredible and I'm sure it will get better and better over the next year with updates. Already we have seen them majorly improve putting but I think there is still some work to be done.

I hope they reach out to you so that you can keep assisting them in identifying issues to bring to them to fix and checking updates to confirm the issues are fixed. It shows improvement but there is still work to be done.
Thanks for the video. How would you say it compares to the GC3 putting, which also isn't know for being perfect for shorter putts?

Are the greens still slow in Home Tee Hero with the update?
Hey Joe, nice putting retest of the Garmin R50. It doesn’t have to be on video, but before you send it back to Danial would you try this… I remember a video where you talked about putting down a meter stick for practice. Could you put the stick down and putt down it with a speed that barely reaches the end of the stick and see if the HLA is better? The appearance here is that the Garmin has gotten much better at 15 feet and beyond but struggles still with a shorter putts. Using the yardstick would take any influence the surface has on the outcome out of the equation. During the comparison I think there is to much chance for interference

Good idea
My unit constantly wanted to show my driver hitting high slices 35 yds or more off line. Rarely have that problem in reality. Also shorting me 20-30 yds with irons and hybrids.
i have the same issue . everything is like 15% short.

how does it compare to exputt
Can you do a comparison to that on the exputt camera for example and Matt so you have both units reading at same time
Haven't looked all the way through yet, but just looking at the first putts, and comparing the line between the putts, I was actually saying to myself, before I saw the data, what the data then showed... (like that was a real pull, that was a push...)

How would you rate the R50 overall vs the other competitors like the Eye Mini Lite or GC3? I'm just about sold on it due to ease of use + smaller subscription + built in screen, however I'm a little worried about people who have mentioned issues with carry distance, as well as the putting issues you see here when closer in.
Thank you for doing this update video! I’ve been on the fence about this unit. Just trying to decide if I go with this or spend a little more to go with the cg3. What would you recommend? Feel like this makes it closer!
You could absolutely use this now with GS Pro and with the putting assistance turned on have a fantastic experience. It all depends on what you want out of a device tbh. I could easily recommend both! If you need or want FTP then the Garmin is the one. If you are playing competitive Sim golf then I'd go with the gc3
@ Thank you for the response! This is exactly the kind of feedback I was looking for. I’ve got an OG sky track now, but I’ve been wanting to upgrade for a while into something more functional to playing sim golf instead of just a virtual range. Got a computer built to run GS Pro and know that’s the software route I want to go. Just trying to make the final call on the sim. I was set on the R50 until I watched all of the videos about putting. This has calmed my nerves on that front though! Seems like the CG3 is considered the gold standard in this price range though. Might just spend a little extra on that and then be set up if I get into the competitive sim arena!

There is a reason gspro and SGT has the putting assistance that straightens putt out that are slower than 6mph
You should put up a gate that you hit if you are more than 0.5 degrees off :)
What is the specification on the measurement tolerances for the Garmin R50 ?
Is it easy to switch from Left to right? I occasionally play with lefties and was wondering how big of a deal it is. Thanks
It would be a bit of a pain tbh... You would have to have a line on the ground or something so you could have it aligned both ways and then physically move the unit. You would be better off going with the Protee VX overhead. Physically on the unit it has a little software button to switch between left and right handed so that's easy enough. 👍👍

Watch the end of the video the head to head comparison. I personally think it's the influence the mat is having over the roll not me pulling or pushing them.

Well this is disappointing. Can you retry with Pix balls or the logo facing the R50? Also, is your mat/surface perfectly level left to right?

Did you fix the 16:9 projector setting.. seems to fit your screen much better now 😊
Use a stimp meter to test these. Take the stroke out of it.
Seeing the alignment figures jumping around doesn't really give me confidence. If it cant align then how can it measure accurately?
How can the Square at £700 pass these test with flying colours, and £4300 device be iffy?

Yes the alignment for me is a bit of a weird one. I completely agree. I do think this will keep getting better and better with updates like we have seen with other products like the eye mini ect.. the Square is a bit of a unicorn isn't it.. just coming out of the gates punching way above its weight.

It looks to be reading your putts perfectly. Your stroke is a pull stroke, and all the putts you were hitting left were read correctly.
Hey Rod check the end of the video vs the Protee. I also just played with my uneekor eye mini and didn't have a putt that read outside .5 degree left and right. I stand by what I said I think this unit isn't reading HLA directly from the putterface I think it's being influenced by the roll of the ball over the turf. That would explain why the longer putts were closer to 0.0 HLA.

Would you mind disclosing all your affiliate? To me everyone says this unit is ok but everyone is making excuses, “it probably will be fine”. It’s five grand like why would anyone buy this 😅
Might be a good unit in a year if they don’t pull the developers off to work on something else. I’d just buy a Foresight who is dedicated to launch monitors.
Square better
Square is an absolutely amazing budget LM but better than the r50... No I don't think so. Cost vs Benefit scale definitely not linear though... The square is absolutely punching above its weight 👍👍
