I've owned to RT-700 for about 2 yrs....love that grill...cooked about every thing you can imagine on it....congrats on your grill...welcome to the Rec Tec family
@Jack, thanks buddy.
I just ordered this grill and the bullseye as well. Cant wait!
How long do these models take to get to temp? 275, 350, 500°? I've heard some guys says it takes 45mins just to hit 400°
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my RT-700. I bought one because of you!
I got mine last week. So far I've cooked baby back ribs, chicken and today I'm doing burgers. This freaking grill really makes you feel like you're cheating. The best ever chicken I've ever eaten by far. So juicy. I'm also in Texas and was skeptical of the pellet grill coming off the sick burner. I'm just blow away. Very consistent and great results every time! 👍 The app is freaking awesome! I was controlling the temp while at the grocery store on my phone.
Thats great feedback @Trumpetmaster, appreciate the comments and thanks for watching our channel.
I have researched pellet grills for about a year now and I have settled on the Rec Teq! These burgers look insane! Cannot wait to get mine and start smoking! Awesome video!
Wow I love the background, Pit Barrel and the PK grill.
Tnx Jim
Great job on the review! After several weeks of researching different pellet grills, I finally pulled the trigger and Just ordered my RT 700 today! Now its just the waiting game. Can't wait!
That's great O L I promise you will absolutely love it, I've used it quiet a bit more since the video and it continues to impress. Congrats and good luck.
1:08 I love the horns.
Just bought a Rec Tec. They deliver it tomorrow. I am stoked! Loved your hamburger advice. I will use it tomorrow.
WOOT! Congrats Rusty, enjoy your new toy, it's a great cooker. Thanks for watching our vides, more to come.
Nice , make some more videos please. You’re videos are so much better than most.
Thank you Omar, we are surely working on that.
Great video. I prefer the Five Guys approach to seasoning my burger which is no seasoning. If you meat is of high quality you don't need to season it. The flavor of the meat is the appeal. Glad to see your success as a fellow Texan!
best review on rector 700 thanks
Thank you
Ha Ha! analog man.. great song! and great review brother. Got my 700 on the way and my mouth is watering watching this.
Awesome, you will love it, thanks for watching, subscribe so you dont miss any
Any chance for a grill collection video at some point? Just discovered your channel and I really like it!
Great idea Benny, I have surely had as many bbq cookers as any one man can own lol, will need to go find some old pics and made a short video, love the idea. Thanks
Have you done a brisket on the 700 yet?
Yessir Chuck I have done several brisket over the last couple years on both my 700 and the 1200, they run like a swis watch, awesome cookers and very efficient.
Yes I want one....but have to wait a little since we just got a Hasty Bake 132 which I'm looking forward to using as I love a charcoal smoke. Great video, Arnie! Thank you!
You will love that 132 Mathew, awesome cooker bud, thanks
just ordered one for my 40th b day
Thank you for showing off the rec-tec grill I'm very interested in getting one and you done a great job I guess I will have to get one now just have to put my order in great job thanks 👍😀
Jodi Morris you will not regret it! I love my rec tec and going to get the BFG next which is bigger then the bull
I agree with Vincent Hernandez, you won't be disappointed, great pellet cooker, thanks for checking out our channel.
Thx Arnie ,glad to see another video from you. What about the clean out of grease/ash? What about changing out pellets for different taste between cooks? Any problems with flare ups from grease?
Hey Arnie how are you? What’s that serving tray you making burgers in?
I’d like to get one.
Do you still have your Pitts & Spitts Maverick 1250? I want RecTeq 700 & RT-380 Bullseye they look awesome
For the same price the camp chef Windward certainly has more user-friendly features to it. I’m having a hard time deciding between the two because I feel like the build quality may be better on the rec tec but all those extra gadgets on the camp chef... tough call
I'd like to see you marinade and cook your version of Korean Short Ribs. I love my Rec Tec BFG!
Great idea Pitbull
Very good video. I have a 680 with the side smoker box. Absolutely love mine. I’ve done traditional bbq and pizzas. I haven’t done burgers on it. Your video was exactly what I needed. Keep up the good work. New subscriber for sure.
WTG Tim, thanks a bunch
Ok so I'm torn between the RT-700 and the Yoder 640s. A coworker told me about the RT-700 and even with a few minor problems he had with it, their customer service department was very easy to work with. However I still like to cook over a fire and I want to know if there is a way to cook directly over the firebox of the RT-700? Thanks and great video!
Douglas the RT 700 does not cook right over the pellets but the Bulls eye does. My Pitboss does do that too but I still prefer the real charcoal and wood flavor if I'm not smoking on pellets. Yoder is a great grill buy has big temperature variance, mine had as much as 50 dgrees and make sure you buy an extra couple for the hopper, you WILL need it. Thanks
I cant wait for my yoder to come in tomorrow, I'm goong to do Thanksgiving turkey on it, great video!!
Great way to smoke a turkey for sure Ron, enjoy
Hello Arnie hope y'all are doing well. Great review 👍 awesome grill my baby bro would of loved it. Prayers 🙏 stay safe. Much love and big tx hugs from South Tx.
Thank you so much Maria, appreciate your following and mice words, God bless
Hey, Arnie, great video. I’ve had a RecTec 680 since 2014. Simple to use love it. Do you have a video on smoking a brisket in your 700?
Thank you Ismael, great smoker / grill for sure. i do have a brisket video on the RT as part of my Brisket Masterclass so it's a private video as part of the course. Will be on sale till black Friday and price will go up then, currently $47.00

Can you check the temps across the top and the bottom using a set of digital thermometer probes to compare between what the controller says and what it actually temps out at?
Purchased the Bull today and it is headed to Houston...curious about your recommendation on favorite pellet for this cooker. Great video...keep ‘em coming.
@Tom Wilson, hello Tom, sorry I had missed your question, I usually get notifications so going to have to see why they are not coming through. i have been using the Lumberjack pellets, and also the it Boss pellets from Walmart are very very good, I own a Pit Boss tailgater too btw, so had been using them before i got the RT. Bbqers Delight is another great option as well as the Rec Tec pellets.
I use the Rec Tec premium blend in mine...nice mild smoke...I can't do the ones that do heavy smoke like mesquite...gives me heartburn from hell.
How much of the cook is the pellets? What pellets do you use? Just ordered a 700 yesterday and got a 340 for 299 along with 200 lbs of RecTec pellets two cooking mats a shelf, and a large griddle oh and a cover!
All pellets lol. I prefer the Pitboss pellets myself, others may prefer other brands, I've tried them all, just my preference.
Love my Rec Teq, I went with the Stampede version and got the seer plates too, great combination! I even got a couple friends to order them, selling three already for them, they need to hook me up...lol
Thanks for the video and tips!
lol I agree, Jim they should hook us bot up. Glad you got ya a great cooker, might need to order me on of those sear plates too. thanks
Great video. Love that stache too dude lol. Wish I could grow one like that.
haha thanks JD it's taken 20 years to grow the stache lol. Glad you liked the video, subscribe and hit the bell so you wont miss any new ones
Looks like great burgers!
Amazing really, thanks for watching
Man, that burger looks banging! Im doing research on the rec tec. Once rona is settled will pull the trigger. Noticed the OBBQ on your thermapen. Sweet!
Thanks Frank, I really think you can't go wrong with Rec Tec, this is my 5th pellet grill / smoker and this one is a keeper for sure, you will love it.
Great video....looking at getting this or the 590. I've got a PK grill like you too. Do you think the smoke is really good on these? Can you do a pork butt
Hello Scott, love my PK and all my grills lol. Yes the RT 700 will do a great jo on pork butts, I smoked one a few weeks ago, it was boneless and so i cut it in half to shorten the cooking time. Ran at 250 so there will be a better smoke on the meat and you could even go lower like 225 then ramp it up towards the end of the cook to firm up the bark if necessary. You wont be disappointed for sure.
Thanks, Arnie. Great video. Would like to see videos & hear your thoughts about how it does at grilling steaks (can it produce grill marks from its standard grates, or does it need special grill grates), & how it does at smoking turkey & chicken. Also, what are the low & high temperatures it will cook at? Thanks again & take care
Good questions Dennis and I will surely be exploring those options very soon. Thanks for watching.
Un abrazo Arnie desde el Estado de México
Gracias Osvaldo, saludos y un abrazo fuerte
Nice video man! I get my rt590 tomorrow and I'm stoked! I'm coming from propane
Nice, you will love it
Hey Arnie, what happened to your Pitts and Spitts, that is a better built Pellet grill vs. what your auditioning on this video
@Chris the P&S pellet grills had lots of issues when they first came out, I had two different models and gave up when it took six months to get them fixed. I hear they are better now. I now have three RT's for two years and can confidently say it's a way better product than P&S was at the time I had those. They might be heavy duty steel and well built second to none imo but none of that matters when they don't work as they are supposed to.
great video bro.. thinking about getting the 590 myself.. I love my drums but the consistency of a pellet cooker makes me say hmmm.. lol
Right on John, it's great to have more than one option, I look at them as tools and each tool does the same job in a different way and there is nothing more convenient that pellet grills imo.
Let's see a video on that Lonestargrillz in the back.
Great idea, aint got much else to do lol.
Can you cook a regular frozen burger patty and cheap hot dogs in 45 minutes or less?
Spare ribs and some chicken 🍗 👍
Do you prefer the Rec Tec 700 or Pitts & Spitts Maverick? And why?
Rec Tec all day, quieter, smoother, more efficient and steady plus its ALL stainless.
Brother my mouth is watering! Those looked awesome. How are you feeling about the grill lately?
I still use it two or three times per month, planning on more videos on it very soon including upgrading to competition cart install., thank you
@@ArnieTex I just watched this all the way thru for the 3rd time! Mine is coming in soon. Should've been here Tuesday but the ice and snow has kept shipments out of here. Thanks for your expertise and for sharing your talents. - Mac
@@smalltowntexasbbqburgersbr1391 yessir my pleasure, you will love your new RT
Just ordered the 700 a couple days ago. Can't wait to get it up and running! Still wondering about what my first cook will be. lol.
@Mattew Hull, sorry I missed the post earlier, how did it go and what did you cook first? Thanks
@@ArnieTex Everything ran great! For my first cook I did chicken wings and thighs.
@@matthewhull4030 Thats great my friend congrats on the grill and enjoy.
@ArnieTex I'm am looking to purchase a Recteq 1000 or flag ship. Do still recommend a recteq for the price range and quality it delivers or is there something else you would recommend?
Hey Arnie, I got the bull back just before christmas and love it! I love watching all your videos! I am curious about the onion in this one, what is the condiment that is in the onion before try ou grilled it? Looked like mustard or maybe squeeze butter?
Thanks Scott, appreciate the nice words, yes it was just squeeze butter on the onions, just adds great flavor.
I was wondering if you could try to cook some Turkey Barbecue on the Rec Tec.
Great cook my brother! We should get together and do a collaboration.
@ The Dawgfathers bbq, we most certainly will when things clear up enough and we can all socialize again, yessir look forward t it.
Awesome video, thank you! I have the RT-700 as well, love it.
Thanks Dan
It was so juicy! Great technique! Used 80/20 beef as 90/10 is too lean and dry.
The app is awesome and easy to use. I love it and my rec tec
Thanks for the info Vincent and thanks for watching
You should check out Best Maids jalapeño mustard relish at HEB, Much love from ATX
Good video! I have been using a Big Green Egg for near 20 years. I would like to use a pellet smoker/grill. So many to choose from, leaning towards the Rec Tec. My question is the pellets. Living in humid Mississippi I have heard stories of the pellets becoming soft and falling apart. Not sure if the cook is leaving the pellets in the hopper or not. Once the pellets become soft they do not burn and clog up the auger. My guess is not to leave the pellets in the hopper and store in a sealed plastic tub indoors. Your suggestions and thoughts please.
Hello Chester, doesn't get much more humid than deep south Texas where I live 50 miles from the coast. It is true that humidity will ruin your pellets, I keep mine on old ice chest's in my tool shed so they stay as dry as possible. I never clean out my hoppers though but I do keep my grills covered. Can't go wrong with a Rec-Teq
Nice video. I see you also have done a video on Pitts & Spitts pellet grill a few years back. Do you have a preference between the RT700 vs the P & S? I'm in the market and am looking at those grills. 👍
Both are great grills / smokers, the P&S is a heavy duty grill and had some serious issues when I had mine so i returned it. Since then I hear they have worked out the bugs. The Rec-Tec is truly imo the "standard" in pellet grills in today's competitive market. i have owned several and cooked on most of them and none in my personal experience run as smooth and consistent and are as responsive as the Rec-Tec AND it's ALL stainless plus the ceramic igniter rod never needs to be replaced. Should last a lifetime with proper care and never need a paint job which the P&S eventually will. no I am not paid nor sponsored by rec-Tec, just my honest experience.
Cook brisket on Rec Tec and one on hasty bake or a stick burner and tell me whats better!!
thanks for watching JC, both are awesome!! It's all about time and smoke when cooking briskets.
I’m new to pellet grills. Did you grill the 2 sets of burgers at different temps for a specific reason or just trying two different methods? I really enjoyed the video
Hello @Mike Wright, I did two two different sets mainly to demonstrate the versatility of the
RT 700, it rocked the burgers both ways, it's an awesome cooker for sure. Hope that helps ya.
Basic Beef is Gold on Burgers! Did you have squeeze butter on the onion? Nice video Stud! Keep the smoke light 👊..
Yes on the butter Brian, Parkay. Thanks bud
@@ArnieTex I'm sure it wasn't anything else!😉
Would like to see an update on what you think now.
I am very happy wIrth my Rec-Teq, It's been a great cooker to have in my backyard. I've cooked butts n briskets and ribs n chickens and it has all turned out really good. I even added a brisket cooking video to my online cooking class and my online Brisket Masterclass too. Thanks
Thx for the video. I had to ask my forgiveness to get my 700. Teehee. Sending love from Austin Tejas
Congrats on the RT and thanks,
Why recteq over pitts and spits ? Love the channel 👍
At that time the P7S's has some hopper and computer issues. They are fine now but i will still prefer the RT, it's smoother, quieter, more efficient and ALL stainless not just the lid. If you like the P&S go for it it's a fine machine now.
Gotcha thank you
From cold grill to cooked burger, how long did it take?
Love the video, and your burgers look INCREDIBLE! Quick Question: Where can I get that Pit Life shirt??🤔 That shirt is #LIFE!
Thank you
What are the advantages or disadvantages on having a a double door or single door on your lsg smoker that is in the background
Omar thank you for your question, I think the double door is preferable for some folks because you don't need a counterweight and you can have the double or even triple slide outs, mine came with two. Also when you open up half of the cooker not as much heat escapes although that depends how long you leave the door open. The disadvantage is that you cannot put in whole hogs or cabritos and stuff like that. also the grates are split so there is some cooking area lost in the gaps. The single large door will also need a counterweight as it will be very heavy. Both ways will cook great barbecue but it's really a matter of preference and what you may want to cook most often. Thanks for watching and good luck.
I just bought this grill and it’s supposed to be delivered 4/24. My first cook is going to be burgers so your video is perfect to help me for the first use. I’ve never used a pellet grill before so I’m really looking forward to getting it.
Congratulations Gary, you will be very pleases with the results, great all around cooker. Thanks for watching and stay tuned.
Arnie how would you compare the Rec Tec to the Pitts & Spitts you had before?
I like the Rec Tec much better Corey although the P&S is a good cooker too. RT much more responsive, easier to operate and gets over 500 degrees quick where the other struggles to get past 400
so you like it better than the Pitts & Spitts ?
yes
@@ArnieTex elaborate plz on what you like more about it -
@@denaliking6426 it's not just a stainless lid, it's ALL stainless, lighter, quieter and more consistent in temperature and more efficient. The P&S I hear has also improved quiet a bit since I had them four years ago.
What happened to the Maverick 1250?
Hello Phil, it got traded for a Maverick 850, the 850 now gone too and and very happy with the Rec Tec, much better cooker imo. Thanks
Ive had trouble getting the alarms to work on the app. Any success on that?
have not got that far yet Tuckertee, I'm an analog man lol. That's my next thing to learn how to use the app, call or email the company, they have outstanding customer service.
i honestly believe that pellet grills should be illegal for bbq competitions but that's just me.. Let me know if I'm wrong. I own a pellet grill and I use it for home but not for competition.
Sorry Tony you are way out numbered lol. They are legal and will not go away but rather increase. Unfortunately comp bbq i just not a t a levek yet where maybe they could have different classes, that might make it fairer but really I dont worry about it too much fro comp bbq as it canbe so subjective anyways.
Nice cook and even better review. Thanks for being so thorough.
I would love to see you cook the following on the Rec Tec:
Brisket
Spare Ribs
Redfish
Turkey
Fajitas
Beef Ribs
Steak
Pulled Pork
Pizza
But whatever you decide to make I’m sure will turn out great.
BTW - I am REALLY interested in the functionality of the app. Maybe you and your crew can get the gang if it and let us know if it will allow trillers to cook remotely.
@Millenialbroadcast, Great list of things to cook and in time we hope to have those done as well, not sure about redfish and pizza but hmmmm, good idea, thanks for watching our channel bud.
Pork Ribs and Brisket
DUDE! You didn't show the high temp cook burgers...
Can I move in with you?
I just can’t bring myself to buy that grill it’s made in China. Yoder or Pitts and Smitts for me, made here in the US
Leonard the steel and electronics they use comes from China anyways so whats the difference lol.
@@ArnieTex Probably but it’s least built here with US workers and paid US wages so I feel a little bit better about it.

I think you make good videos but waaaaaay too long. Way too long. Im not that interested in smoking a burger but more interested in a high heat cook with sear kit
Thank you for the feedback, appreciate it
