Just to put how good Skinner is at scoring goals over the past 3 seasons he’s scored 1.25 goals per hour with Buffalo which is in the top 10 players in the NHL… now he’s playing with the best passer in the NHL in Leon or Connor. Put overs on him scoring 40 goals.
Especially if they put him with McDavid, yeah, 40 is a very low estimate
IMO he will be better than Leon.

Depth is looking good now.
Lizotte might be my favorite player, so I wish him the best in Pittsburgh. That guy doesn't quit, and makes the entire team better when he's on the bench. At first I thought he was just lucky at getting his stick on the puck, but he consistently breaks up plays with his last minute stick moves. It goes back to him never quitting on the play. I think the Kings are going to miss him more than they realize.

Skinner is the type of player who can perform at an elite level IF he’s got the right players with him. He’s not the type to carry offence on his own, but if you put him on a top 6 with McDavid, Draisaitl, Hyman, and RNH, then you can expect a solid 30-35 goal scorer. If he scored 40 again with Edmonton, I wouldn’t be surprised. Great signing.

I hate the Oilers but those are 2 good signings. Skinner adds even more scoring depth and Janmark was a beast for them in the bottom 6, especially the final

People underestimate how good skinner is. Top 10 goal scorer in goals per 60 over a three year span while also playing on one of the worst teams in the game. Now he’s playing with Draisaitl who’s probably the best passer in the league. Oilers offence will be a spectacle next year.

Blackhawks fan here… I like what has occurred today. I hope our young guys get some real chances to play and learn at the NHL level with all these veterans added. EDM looks very tough… NAS will be tough as well.

Skinner might be the most underrated signing of this off-season and Edmonton is looking pretty good. Henrique may not be on his prime but is a great addition if you place him on the third line. I think Edmonton has a good shot again at a cup final.

Seeing the signings the Oilers are pulling off, I may be too optimistic, but it tells me guys see a good chance of winning with them.
Adam henrique signs for another 2 years in edmonton. Oilers look strong.
Skinny was a defensive liability on most nights but he is a beauty and we will miss him.
He played well the first two rounds but he couldn’t keep up against Dallas nor Florida. Not a huge loss honestly

I did NOT have Edmonton adding two former 30+ goal scorers on the bingo card today, just crazy. The Oilers have an outrageous top 6 now (which seems crazy to say), with some options to swap guys in and out, particularly at LW. The Oilers have 7 forwards who have scored at least 30 goals in a season over the last 5ish years. Edmonton is now with a proper set of players at each wing for the first time in the McDavid era. Say what you want, but this is a dramatic turn around from 4ish years ago where Edmonton had nobody proven who wasn't named Ryan Nugent-Hopkins to play with McDavid and Draisaitl.
Could you imagine if they had an extra 9 million instead of Nurse? They could've signed someone like Guentzel, that would be even crazier 😂
@@WestonNYR But then you'd need another defenseman that can play any kind of minutes like Nurse can. He's overpaid, but still a good 7 mil defenseman and valuable player for the Oilers.
@@Marixa1979 maybe a 5 mil but not 9 mil, and so if they didnt have him and perry they couldve gotten Guentzel and Gustafson with that cap and the remaining 500 k they have, dont know what they'd do with drai next year tho. Still that'd be crazy
@@WestonNYR Nurse is better than 5 mil, 7 mil would be the right range. I'm not as big on Guentzel as others, Gustafsson I have no real use for, the Oilers already owned him once, they definitely don't need him. The Oilers are better today than they were, so I'm happy with it.

Man screw a GM, Jeff Jackson can be ceo and gm. Besides the questionable draft trade to pick 32, I’ve been so satisfied with this free agency and signings. If he can get a Drai extension done by September, I’m pleased. A Bouchard extension can wait for a little because he’s a rfa.

Well Evander Kane was supposed to be a wash and he got his career back in Edmonton. Skinner might do the same. Less to do in Edmonton so I think it’s easier for players to focus.

Dawg Nashville 💀 3 signings does not make you favorites, id say top 10, would still much rather take NJ, NYR, DAL, COL, EDM, FLA, BOS, VAN, VGK, and possibly even TOR and CAR over NSH who just signed a bunch of old players. They're a good team and will be better then last year but you probably have to win a playoff round in the last 5 years to be considered favorites

I wrote a long reply to a Vancouver faan who was not happy about edmonton doing all the good signings, but when I tried to post my reply, it said entity was not available, and I tried, several times. However, since I took the time to write such a long reply, I will post it here instead (about Vancouver signings first day of free agency).
I happened to listen to some random nhl youtube commentary channel (that consisted of several guys with different perspectives discussing) that turned out to be really good (I will subscribe to it). Anyway, they realized Vancouver is building a team arround.... Tocchet (with responsible and really tough players to play against, like Tocchet also was) to be best in the playoff. And all their 5 signings yesterday (including the bargain / low cost once) were like that (the best / 'worst'/most uncomfortable player to play against from each of the teams from which they came/signed). So they were very impressed by Vancouver signings (and it was not a pro Vancouver channel, but based in Toronto). And Vancouver had also used their playoff opponents to be opportunities to scout for the most uncomfortable/good players to have on their own team this year. All 5 players signed by Vancouver yesterday were Tocchet kind of players fitting well into his system. So that is, why they realized Vancouver is building a team, not around some player, but around Tocchet. And the channel was based in Toronto, and I don't remember which player, but they were happy Vancouver had signed a player in Toronto's division, so that Toronto would not need to face him anymore, that is how uncomfortable that player was to play against. And the same with the player (one of the defensmen) Vancouver signed from, I believe Nashville? And they said, just ask Hughes, that he would be happy to have him on the team instead of having to play against him. So that is what Vancouver has been up to lately, really preparing in the best way for the playoff (not the regular season to show off), and perhaps going somewhat below the radar. Vancouver also did not sign any old available players, they noticed.
Oilers are looking like the best team in the league after today. Took it to G7 in the cup finals with last year's team, and their team is definitively stronger after their Skinner and Arvidsson signings. A lot can happen though I'm impressed with their free agency moves so far and feeling a spicy upcoming year

honestly most of the contracts handed out this free agency have been remarkably good.
The Pens have had a sneaky good offseason. If Rakell can bounce back and Bunting and Malkin keep up what they started last season, the top two parings will be solid. And they added a lot of good depth. Sure they are old, but aside from Karlson, their cap hits are great for their production. Seems like big name players aren't interested in signing there, but they're making good depth signings.

Honestly the panthers have great goalies all around with the experience up front with Bobs and I like Driedger A LOT, meet him back when he was with the thunderbirds playing the Binghamton devils (t-birds was Florida’s AHL team at the time) and he’s a great guy. Then Knight isn’t too bad either. Florida is set in the goalie dept for now
Both my Oilers and my Capitals made a lot of seemingly great moves and no real bad ones (apart from re-signing Perry), and this scares me. It's suspicious, like something bad's going to happen now.

Vancouver could really have needed Edmonton's Skinner and Arvidsson good top 6 forwards - or perhaps they are not Rick Tocchet type players?
And edmonton signing Janmark 3 years for 1.5 m a year is really an insult to Janmark (he was one of their best players in the final series against Florida, both scoring goals and amazing box play.
So yeah edmonton has really done some good value signings.
I recall hearing that Janmark said he'd take a discount to play here, lucky for Edm, he's an underrated beast in the playoffs.

First of all, thanks for your devotion! Though you would miss a few free agent signings, you'd focus on the key ones, and you're human-I understand. But keep it up, you'd be better than those on TSN or ESPN.
Now, to focus on Devin Cooley, it is a shame that he'd leave for money to go to Calgary after some games with the Sharks--he's a hometown-raised player and is similar to Auston Matthews for defunct (or possibly revived?) Coyotes. I feel it's traitorous, but at least he'll be with Devin Wolf who is also from the SF Bay Area.
Wolf better be as good as advertised or the Flames will be in it next year for the top pick.

@@dominicpardo4783 Gretzky is obviously the best of them all, but comparing those top six to what we have now is not as straight forward as you might think. I think you'd have to compare stats for each of these players, and then make an adjustment for the lousy goaltending we saw in the eighties. I think it would be pretty close.

Skinner will only look good cause of his Center, like always, Giregensons will be missed but necessary. The signings Adams made were smart cause you need a more rugged bottom 6 F group and we will see that. Lot of compete down there to drive the play up in the top 6. Off-season isn't over though, gotta find a way to get a top Winger so we don't have to play Zucker up there as much, if at all
