Boy I do wish we could get an upgraded gx camera. But the rumor is there will be none. I love how you use your cameras to the fullest. I hope we can get an updated compact camera, you cannot beat interchangeable lenses period. I understand being afraid of the phone market for Panasonic, and instead of releasing a new compact camera every 1 or 2 years, maybe a once every 5 year release would be better, allowing major upgrades to be on the next model of camera securing more sales. Which we are very due for now! Thank you Gary for your videos!
The rumor is based on speculations and until Panasonic didn't rull out a small camera in the future we can be sure of nothing. Remember there was a rumour about M43 being dead. Another there would be no GH6. And yet another there would be no G9 II (we were talking about that just one month before the G9 II was announced). Panasonic has been working on the GH6 and G9 II without anybody knowing and the cameras suddenly poped out. There has been a good video by Richard Wong ("Is this why there is no new compact Micro Four Thirds camera") explaining why, in his opinion, there is not any compact camera at the moment. He mostly says the new sensor is too expensive for that kind of camera. Ok, but in a few years it won't be the case anymore. Right ? Besides any M43 with the older 20 MB sensor would still be ok for most of us, Panasonic is selling the G100 well in Japan.I have good hope we will see M43 range finder camera again. I am totally fine with a new range finder camera every 5 years. Perfect for my wallet.
@@laurentyarp514 I am glad to hear the g100 is doing well in Japan. It doesn't seem like a bad camera at all. I hope you are right about the rumor being false too. To me it would be crazy to drop a series of cameras that sort of complete m43 setups. 20mp would I agree be plenty, super plenty if they featured a high resolution mode like the gh6/g9 did. That would be amazing. I just recently bought a g7 for its weight and size and it works great for 16mp. It makes a great second camera. I love how Gary rocks the gx850, I almost bought one, but I think I'll stick with using the g7. It's fairly convenient to pack around. That new sensor is a bit of game changer for Panasonic. The G9ii and GH7 just took a big step forward with those. Your right, maybe a couple years and we can get an okay price tag on a compact series camera with one of those in it. 👍
Congratulation for your 10 years on the system and all the enthusiasm you put on your videos. My first M43 was the G9 5 years ago and I am now heavily invested in the system and happy with it. btw I am using the OM1 as my travel camera. It is not that big and easy to extract from a pouch (PeakDesign 3L pouch). Also it is weather sealed, good in now light. I think you get the point.
I am a crop sensor fan. I love my LUMIX gear. Just purchased the LUMIX 42.5/1.7 Len and a sling bag. I took two GX9 bodies with the PL15, P42.5 and P12-60 lenses and three backup batteries. Was at the Pike Street Market for 4.5 hours and I never felt my gear was heavy. Like no camera is perfect, no sensor is perfect. I don’t need a full frame camera with it’s benefits for hat I do. M43 allows me to have small and lightweight bodies with small lightweight lenses. I don’t need bokeh for my street photography. As a matter of fact i need the background more of less in focus. I'm starting to do night photography so my small sensor is easier to stabilize which I appreciate. There is so much lens choice in the M43 system. LUMIX and Olympus produce a variety of excellent lenses that fit across their mounts. Too bad they don’t communicate with the other manufacturers bodies fully. Then there are plenty of 3rd party manufacturers producing wonderful lenses. M43 lenses are more affordable than full frame lenses and I appreciate that. I agree your wish list for the GX85. Lumix has killed the GX body line. Maybe they will take the full frame sensor out of the S9 body and give us all the features you want for the upgraded GX85 in that body. No sensor system is perfect. For street photography M43 meets my needs. I appreciate what LUMIX and Olympus bodies plus lenses offer me. I appreciate the cost benefits the systems afford me. I’m glad that I own M43 gear. Panasonic appear to be making big heavy micro four thirds bodies now. Bad idea in my opinion. Micro four thirds attracted me because it was compact and lightweight..
Thank you for the comment, you might want to check out my POV Photography Vlogs, when I use gx850 in those vlogs, I will usually tell the settings, the mode dial, aperture value, shutter speed, etc. Here is the link: ruclips.net/p/PL6tLJ50jjXDVACC2pXCR5lK5I4VIbCs3T&si=8KRssugp_tKLWKL7
Yes. The D-Lux8 is M43. Leica has added some updated hardware. They upgraded the software and have made the D-Lux8 more like a Q3. Otherwise the D-Lux8 is a lumix X100ii. All for $1600. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)

On the epl sale, Olympus needs more coverage on this channel 🙌 the om5 especially nearly ticks all your requirements 👌
Love the m43 system. As a travel photographer who also likes to skateboard with his camera in small sling bag, there is no better system.

That's why I am waiting for the new Pen E-P8 and E-PL11.
I think these will be the best for me, and many as cameras continue to improve. Weight is very important (and waterproof). Linked to this.
hello can you share the setting and steps using lumix gx850. thanks
