    I'm finally catching up. I usually start out each hiking season watching a few folks' videos at the start, and then settle down to one hiker per trail, PCT, AT, CDT. This year, I am enjoying following your journey on the PCT. Keep up the great job. I am really enjoying your videos, and your spirit. I'm up in Washington state, and hope to see you passing through over the bridge of the gods.

      I’ve met so many Washingtontonians, including my two current companions. I do hope you see me that far north. Right now, my eyes are set on Kennedy Meadows about 135 miles away.

      Josh Gustafson Thanks Josh. Phone cameras are great nowadays. The subject is easy...Mother Nature largely hidden from the suburbia of SoCal. Hang with me...how bad can the Sierra be?

    Thanks, Rabbit for taking me along. I’m gearing up to start small practice hikes before the big one. Please show more of your campsite and how you are preparing food. An update on gear would be cool too. Thanks for heaving the extra weight to bring us along. God Bless

      Madur Rudam Practice is a good idea. You need to toughen your feet and make sure your back is strong. You can do some of that on the trail but it is probably harder to recovery while hiking.
      I’ll carry you along, as far as you’ll ride along.

    • @RabidRabbit

      Madur Rudam oh, more on campsites and food soon.

    I had to cancel my PCT hike this year, because I have to get right hip replacement surgery done. It's nice to follow your adventures in place of my hike. Hopefully, I'll be on the trail next year....

      Scott Sweet Thanks Scott. I’ve been called a legend in my own mind. I’m happy that you are enjoying this and hope you can be out here one day. At first, I thought a lot about how far I might go before quitting; now I just think about when I might finish. The support of folks like you keeps me going.

    I'm really enjoying your videos and following your journey! I'm beginning my PCT adventure on May 10 (I'm starting at Idyllwild since I'm getting a late start and will flip to do those first 180 miles in the fall). Seeing what to expect has been very beneficial!! Happy Trails!

      Lisa Clivio Thanks Lisa. Much of the credit goes to my editor and daughter, Lisa. The landscape is what is in front of me so I can’t take much credit for that either. I hope to keep you amused for a while more.

    I just found your blog, great stuff!
    don’t feel like getting to the Sierras early is a bad thing...get that Desert section out of the way-the desert warms up markedly between Mothers Day and Memorial Day. The Sierras should open up fairly early this year-the cold weather of the last couple days notwithstanding. Man, I’ve been cold here in Orange County, I bet you’re probably up in the San Gabriels now feeling it for real!
    Edit: I saw your GPS position on the website, you’re really motoring!

    I just can't believe the miles you are doing; just amazing. I wounder if your living in Park City elevation makes a difference when you come to sea level. Big Bear is no seal level town however. 20 miles uphill was awesome! Keep it up, man.

    Lol...yes, a place that let's you sit down comfortably while taking care of one of our human needs is like a castle after being without fir several days. It's all about perspective, I guess. You are making incredible progress on the trail! Way to go! Does Tamara have her own channel, too? It looked like one of those camera holders for the end of a pole that she had in her hands. It is so fun to follow a variety of thru hikers. I love the view from your pack, of course, but they may have different food to try. ;-)

    • @RabidRabbit
      @RabidRabbit  6 лет назад +1

      Karen W Hi Karen. I don’t think Tamara is shooting video. I have one of the camera mounts you are talking about but frequently it just isn’t convenient to use. I’m doing better with food and will feature that soon. Thanks for following.

    Honest question- does the occasional mountain biker upset you Pacific Crest Trail hikers?

    • @RabidRabbit
      @RabidRabbit  6 лет назад

      Any mountain biker user would upset me since. the trail is closed to bikes. That said, in many places it wouldn’t be an issue because it isn’t realistic. The trail is open for equestrian but horses are also difficult on the tread and I get real tired of dodging horse poop.
