I personally lean towards the Minotaurs and Marines Malevolent being Iron Warriors. This is due to their brutal, yet highly organized nature and the fact that large numbers of Iron Warriors remained loyal during the Hersey.
If so the Marines Malevolent might had been the prototype upon which the Minotaurs were later perfected, that might explain why both are treated so differently by the great powers of the Imperium as one of them has already outlived its usefulness and has to fight for scraps of equipment while the other gets early access to every bleeding edge advancement.
The Minotaurs chapter geneseed also have very low rejection rate which was well known among the Iron warriors and there also specialize in seige warfare and are very good at logistics.
Not just any custodes, but a high ranking NAMED Custodes, who was convinced that only the chief of the Custodes and the only active Primarch could best him, even showing some uncertainty about the former.
Moloc might not be a cyborg, but 100% machine. The way he follows commands makes me feel he might be a Man of Iron or some other form of archeotech that the High Lords use as a personal enforcer. That's why he keeps coming back, he can literally be rebuilt. A literal android leading a chapter of Iron Warriors successors would be quite ironic, but what do you guys think?
Perhaps he is similar to the robots Perturabo used as his praetorians? Perhaps using that kind of form while also having an attached personality, or combination of personalities. So Moloch can have characteristics and idiosyncrasies of human behavior without actually being one.

Asterion Molech is Arik Taranis Last surviving Thunder Warrior Primarch He is a match for A Custodes in combat..(As seen when Another Thunder Warrior Primarch can actually fight Valdor, after murdering a bunch of Dark Angels) But it also explains the mistrust, since we all know how THAT went down

Each time Moloch dies a captain takes his place, Asterion Moloch being a title rather than a name. 10,000 years of battle experience would answer for his prowess and why he has died so many times. The only reason I dont like the thunder warrior theory is because they are supposedly genetically volatile and prone to degradation.

The space sharks are extremely terrifying and disconnected to the imperium. It seems quite possible for them to be marked renegade and have the Minotaur sent after them because of their reputation
Ahhh someone who wants the same battle as me! Not only is it actually kinda feasible within the setting because of how both the Minotaurs and Carcharodons each operate but Tyberos v Asterion would be such an awesome fight.

Moloc is a true badass to make a Custodes take pause in battle, but it's funny that one of the first pictures you showed was of probably the only other chapter master who could take him: Tyberos The Red Wake.

(I saw them. I saw just how far these Angels of Death would go to end a conflict. The Manta Tributors Chapter had for centuries been seen as true defenders of Humanity within the Metelel Sub-Sector. They defended the worlds from many attackers and invaders ranging from Orks, Eldar, and Heretical elements of traitorous humans rebels. But, when they themselves decided to suddenly break away from the Imperium to better defend their territory........that was when the Minotaurs were unleashed upon them. The campaign lasted for just two years but, the death toll was extreme unlike any I have barred witness to in my many decades of service to the Emperor. But, nothing compared to the final end of the Tributors and the slaughter that was unleashed by the one who leads the Minotaurs. I only saw through vox-picts but, every image will stay in my memory for the rest of my life.....the Chapter Master named Asterion Moloc slaughtered all before him like a rampaging beast that broke free from its chains. The Astartes that tried to fight back were thrown and carved apart by his mighty spear like mere leafs on the wind. The fighting only lasted for just six hours but, the bloodbath that happened was unbelievable. No member of the Manta Tributors Chapter was spared by the Minotuars brutal and methodical purge........however, it didn't end there. This Asterion Moloc guy seems like the kind of guy who everyone would love to see brutally killed by the hero but will keep surviving and plaguing the heroe. He is the kind of the guy who everyone loathes and wants to die but does not and keeps killing beloved heroes.
I genuinely think the Minotaur's are a highbred of Iron warriors and Death Guard .. Especially since this Chapter was founded by the High lords of Terra. Their level of access was absolute, and would most definitely have a chapter, loyal to them only as an insurance policy.

I think he’s a Custodes who started to slow due to age (if they slow by a nanosecond they retire and go out to find other ways to serve) who jacked a new founding and is using his old contacts to get the best gear and services. Given their lore predates our knowledge of the custodes practice of doing the whole lone operative retirement GW didn’t have it in the plans but it’s very fertile soil for it
Linking this to the legendary thunder warrior Teranus, I think it is possible he is a perpetual, as a long shot not mentioned. Would of helped for his experimentations to fix the thunder warriors degenerating or taking the gene seed
Imo he is the strongest SM. But its terifing that some Grand or Chapter Masters have to obey the Inquisition or the Admin leaders. Imo they should take orders only from Primarks and the Emperor. Not to mention that almost starting a war vs the Custodes, on Terra, is similar to heresy.
No matter how skilled and awesome a Space Marine or Custodian was I would always have more respect for standard Humans who fought in battle after battle for the Emperor. As fighting the Enemy is I'm sure far easier when you know no fear be it of death or the enemy and have super human strength and healing . But a normal human has none of that but still does it anyway
My thing is, how in the world the custodes haven’t figured out a way to insert spy’s into the Minotaurs or infiltrate themselves somehow. I mean the chapter is a monster that they now know can be wielded against them just as easily as any renegade chapter. If the imperial fists actively think that the custodes have put spy’s on the phalanx to watch the IF then I can only imagine what they’ve done to keeps tabs on the Minotaurs.

My personal theory: Let us first eliminate some possibilities. 1. He's a robot or something mechanical. I think this is false because the way he carries himself, the way he moves shows his arrogance and overwhelming confidence. He has swagger. He knows he is powerful and the beings in front of him are mere animals for sacrifice. A robot will not show this, a robot will simply execute its orders and will not swag and taunt subtly. 2. He is a surviving Thunder Warrior. I think this is false because the last thunder warriors that were found surviving in the 41st millennium still shows the same reason they were replaced in the first place. The cancers, gene flaws and mental instabilities, there is no more room for growth for them. It is proven that Custodes are superior to Thunder Warriors so Moloc is not a thunder warrior because Custodes second guess themselves around him. 3. He is a Primaris Prototype. I think this is also false because his power level is clearly near Primarch level (maybe a few cuts below or somewhere between custodes and Primarchs). Custodes hesitate to face him. Do you think Dante, Grimnar, Seth, Calgar, Azrael and Helbrecht would stand a chance against him? The only ones I think can face Moloc is Tyberos and Draigo. Tyberos is I think a Raven Guard that was jackep up by warp mutations, just look at his face. Draigo have the Emperor's gene seed and have superior Psyker powers. 4. He is Custodes or a retired Custodes. This is false to me. Custodes only have 1 master. Even when they were subjected to the control of external powers they literally shed tears of blood before turning against the Emperor. Maybe Asterion was ordered by the Emperor to follow the High Lords but I doubt it. The Custodes are a very close brotherhood, they would surely recognized one of their own. What I think Moloc really is: Let us consider how he maybe created. He is the High Lord's personal pet. The very same High Lords who have access to nearly all the resources of the Imperium. 1. He is a Primarch clone. I don't know exactly which Primarch but we all know it is possible and its been done more than once. The Primarchs come and go in Holy Terra before the Heresy and after the Heresy I bet the High Lords with its wide networks surely know the locations of one or 2 Primarchs to take samples. 2. He is a Chimera Astartes. High Lords have access to the gene seed stocks of every gene line. Maybe Asterion was created using multiple Primarch gene seed. I bet he has Vulkans gene seed and he is maybe a perpetual since he keeps coming back. The only reason I can think of why he is unique is because maybe he is the only one that survives the process until now. Or somewhere in the deepest most secret areas of Holy Terra there are thousands like him just in stasis waiting to be unleashed like the Primaris. 3. He is a custom made Custodes or a Custodes 2.0. Meaning a Custodes that was made by non conventional processes. Custodes are made in Holy Terra for thousand of years. The High Lords using their power and influence can just hijack one of the labs and create their their personal custodes pet. But I doubt it this one since that means they will still be using the Emperor's gene seed and I think that is one crucial factor why Custodes are super loyal to the Emperor.
I would also postulate that Moloc may in fact be a clone of Perturabo himself, purged of his genetic memories. Would explain why he seemingly cannot be killed.
My theory is that hes Arik Taranis Primarch of the Thunder Warriors... "The Throne Slayer" We know he solved the Genetic issues of the Thunder warrior genetics and can rejuvenate himself. We also knownhe arpind Custodes level, which explains why a Custodes didnt think he could win against him

I always think about instances of Custodes stepping down from their post when they bear too many scars or imperfections. Then I hear about a massive ancient space marine carrying a Custodian spear who no one legitimately knows... color suspicious cause something is going on here. If Moloc DID die multiple times (which I think is not impossible) how do they make more Custodian style spears? If he's lost in space or dead with no real chance of recovery... but he has the spear with him *all the time* that could imply the spear is replaceable with the man... Big dude, fancy legendary ancient armor, hyper faction specific and rarely made weapon, forbidden records, etc. He sounds more like a character from the Custodes. So much potential... I will say the Death Watch captains get cool Custodian spears. So it's not impossible for a space marine to get one...

Finding out that that was a member of the Adeptus Custodes getting ready to soil himself, and how patently disrespectful Moloc is, is a recipe for disaster. Quite frankly, though, if a member of the Custodes - holding the rank of Shield Captain - is getting covered with chicken skin that easily, maybe he should consider retirement.

I believe that Moloc revives how Blood Angels commanders revived in 30k. A space marine eats the brains of the deceased chapter master and gets overwhelmed with past experiences and becomes the old chapter master.
It would certainly be a blood a blood bath. However regardless of who comes on top the main difference will be the minos will bounce back to full strength in very short time as they have literally endless material support and resources from the high Lords. Unfortunately the sharks would be crippled for a long time if they survive at all. Worse we could see the death of Tyberos which would be such a loss, whilst Moloc if he were to lose would simply reappear later again with even more experience. I'd rather a novel of both working g side by side to crush a xenos threat where both side respect each other what they are. Just my hopes lol
It makes perfect sense for him to be a man of iron, because all roxcalibur had to do was hold up her symbol of office and he basically stopped which means somewhere inside that symbol of office I guarantee you is some in Graham or algorithmic chip that literally when he sees it causes his battle frenzy or wherever modi's in to shut down and go to Placid mode and then he accepts orders and then goes away every time he dies he's rebuilt he is ancient architect and anyone who would ask will hold they get their hands on that during the unification Wars all of the technology went into the Vault Under The Palace so it would be very simple for the high Lords of Terra to get their hands on some shutdown men of iron and then oh look we've got an iron Warriors chapter and there was a Minotaur chapter before this so let's just take those Minotaur chapter right there and we'll just give him a man of iron as a chapter master and we'll just code them with engrams and turn them into our own personal little play chapter and this way I just does whatever we want it to. Funny that the minotaurs have reputation of being brutal and almost "too much". Then I remember the dark angels , when korne attacked terra, instead of helping and defend, they killed imperial fists, fallen DA, imperial psycher and a custodian. All because they knew about cypher 😂. I'm waiting for the Lion to know about this and see how will be the obliteration

No member of the Manta Tributors Chapter was spared by the Minotuars brutal and methodical purge........however, it didn't end there. The warlord of the Minotaurs ordered that every world in this Sub-Sector be put to the sword for siding with the renegade Chapter for punishment and retribution. This act only laster two weeks but, saw the death of billions of innocents, no matter if their men, women, children, innocent or guilty, the whole Sub-Sector was cleansed with no prisoners nor survivors spared. I thought nothing would inspired dread for fear in me since I first served under the High Lords personal attaché to the Minotaurs.......until that gloryless bloodbath and purge I still suffer to clear from my mind even as I write this memoir to never forget the horrible deeds done to defend the Imperium of Man.)

This Asterion Moloc guy seems like the kind of guy who everyone would love to see brutally killed by the hero but will keep surviving and plaguing the heroe. He is the kind of the guy who everyone loathes and wants to die but does not and keeps killing beloved heroes.

I genuinely think the Minotaur's are a highbred of Iron warriors and Death Guard .. Especially since this Chapter was founded by the High lords of Terra. Their level of access was absolute, and would most definitely have a chapter, loyal to them only as an insurance policy.

I think he’s a Custodes who started to slow due to age (if they slow by a nanosecond they retire and go out to find other ways to serve) who jacked a new founding and is using his old contacts to get the best gear and services. Given their lore predates our knowledge of the custodes practice of doing the whole lone operative retirement GW didn’t have it in the plans but it’s very fertile soil for it
Linking this to the legendary thunder warrior Teranus, I think it is possible he is a perpetual, as a long shot not mentioned. Would of helped for his experimentations to fix the thunder warriors degenerating or taking the gene seed

No matter how skilled and awesome a Space Marine or Custodian was I would always have more respect for standard Humans who fought in battle after battle for the Emperor. As fighting the Enemy is I'm sure far easier when you know no fear be it of death or the enemy and have super human strength and healing . But a normal human has none of that but still does it anyway

My thing is, how in the world the custodes haven’t figured out a way to insert spy’s into the Minotaurs or infiltrate themselves somehow. I mean the chapter is a monster that they now know can be wielded against them just as easily as any renegade chapter. If the imperial fists actively think that the custodes have put spy’s on the phalanx to watch the IF then I can only imagine what they’ve done to keeps tabs on the Minotaurs.

Thunder Warriors led by a frankenstein Ferris Manus
This is amazing. I am currently listening to the infinite and the divine. I'm probably gonna read dante next.. which reminds me Dante could use some elucidation. I can not wait to read about him crossing the Rubicon
My personal theory:
Let us first eliminate some possibilities.
1. He's a robot or something mechanical. I think this is false because the way he carries himself, the way he moves shows his arrogance and overwhelming confidence. He has swagger. He knows he is powerful and the beings in front of him are mere animals for sacrifice. A robot will not show this, a robot will simply execute its orders and will not swag and taunt subtly.
2. He is a surviving Thunder Warrior. I think this is false because the last thunder warriors that were found surviving in the 41st millennium still shows the same reason they were replaced in the first place. The cancers, gene flaws and mental instabilities, there is no more room for growth for them. It is proven that Custodes are superior to Thunder Warriors so Moloc is not a thunder warrior because Custodes second guess themselves around him.
3. He is a Primaris Prototype. I think this is also false because his power level is clearly near Primarch level (maybe a few cuts below or somewhere between custodes and Primarchs). Custodes hesitate to face him. Do you think Dante, Grimnar, Seth, Calgar, Azrael and Helbrecht would stand a chance against him? The only ones I think can face Moloc is Tyberos and Draigo. Tyberos is I think a Raven Guard that was jackep up by warp mutations, just look at his face. Draigo have the Emperor's gene seed and have superior Psyker powers.
4. He is Custodes or a retired Custodes. This is false to me. Custodes only have 1 master. Even when they were subjected to the control of external powers they literally shed tears of blood before turning against the Emperor. Maybe Asterion was ordered by the Emperor to follow the High Lords but I doubt it. The Custodes are a very close brotherhood, they would surely recognized one of their own.
What I think Moloc really is:
Let us consider how he maybe created. He is the High Lord's personal pet. The very same High Lords who have access to nearly all the resources of the Imperium.
1. He is a Primarch clone. I don't know exactly which Primarch but we all know it is possible and its been done more than once. The Primarchs come and go in Holy Terra before the Heresy and after the Heresy I bet the High Lords with its wide networks surely know the locations of one or 2 Primarchs to take samples.
2. He is a Chimera Astartes. High Lords have access to the gene seed stocks of every gene line. Maybe Asterion was created using multiple Primarch gene seed. I bet he has Vulkans gene seed and he is maybe a perpetual since he keeps coming back. The only reason I can think of why he is unique is because maybe he is the only one that survives the process until now. Or somewhere in the deepest most secret areas of Holy Terra there are thousands like him just in stasis waiting to be unleashed like the Primaris.
3. He is a custom made Custodes or a Custodes 2.0. Meaning a Custodes that was made by non conventional processes. Custodes are made in Holy Terra for thousand of years. The High Lords using their power and influence can just hijack one of the labs and create their their personal custodes pet. But I doubt it this one since that means they will still be using the Emperor's gene seed and I think that is one crucial factor why Custodes are super loyal to the Emperor.
I can see the Iron Warrior influence, but I think there is some World Eater sprinkled in there.
The minotaurs were even willing to take on Primarch during the hexarchy crisis.
I'd like to see him fight Kharn.
Moloc bullies chaos marines to take their lunch money just like Kharn, I bet they might recognize that about each other while they fight lol
I would also postulate that Moloc may in fact be a clone of Perturabo himself, purged of his genetic memories. Would explain why he seemingly cannot be killed.

We know he solved the Genetic issues of the Thunder warrior genetics and can rejuvenate himself.

I always think about instances of Custodes stepping down from their post when they bear too many scars or imperfections. Then I hear about a massive ancient space marine carrying a Custodian spear who no one legitimately knows... color suspicious cause something is going on here.
If Moloc DID die multiple times (which I think is not impossible) how do they make more Custodian style spears? If he's lost in space or dead with no real chance of recovery... but he has the spear with him *all the time* that could imply the spear is replaceable with the man...
Big dude, fancy legendary ancient armor, hyper faction specific and rarely made weapon, forbidden records, etc. He sounds more like a character from the Custodes. So much potential...
I will say the Death Watch captains get cool Custodian spears. So it's not impossible for a space marine to get one...

Finding out that that was a member of the Adeptus Custodes getting ready to soil himself, and how patently disrespectful Moloc is, is a recipe for disaster. Quite frankly, though, if a member of the Custodes - holding the rank of Shield Captain - is getting covered with chicken skin that easily, maybe he should consider retirement.
Maybe Valerian knew something the others didn't when facing Moloc, who knows.
I like the theory that Moloc isn't one person but a office held by the custodes.

I believe that Moloc revives how Blood Angels commanders revived in 30k. A space marine eats the brains of the deceased chapter master and gets overwhelmed with past experiences and becomes the old chapter master.

It would certainly be a blood a blood bath. However regardless of who comes on top the main difference will be the minos will bounce back to full strength in very short time as they have literally endless material support and resources from the high Lords.
Unfortunately the sharks would be crippled for a long time if they survive at all. Worse we could see the death of Tyberos which would be such a loss, whilst Moloc if he were to lose would simply reappear later again with even more experience.
I'd rather a novel of both working g side by side to crush a xenos threat where both side respect each other what they are.

It makes perfect sense for him to be a man of iron, because all roxcalibur had to do was hold up her symbol of office and he basically stopped which means somewhere inside that symbol of office I guarantee you is some in Graham or algorithmic chip that literally when he sees it causes his battle frenzy or wherever modi's in to shut down and go to Placid mode and then he accepts orders and then goes away every time he dies he's rebuilt he is ancient architect and anyone who would ask will hold they get their hands on that during the unification Wars all of the technology went into the Vault Under The Palace so it would be very simple for the high Lords of Terra to get their hands on some shutdown men of iron and then oh look we've got an iron Warriors chapter and there was a Minotaur chapter before this so let's just take those Minotaur chapter right there and we'll just give him a man of iron as a chapter master and we'll just code them with engrams and turn them into our own personal little play chapter and this way I just does whatever we want it to. What would be hilarious though is the day where moloch turns on the Lords of Terra just like his Brethren did during the men of iron Wars
