Abaddon the Despoiler looks on, his desire for battle giving way to dread as the two gods of war turn to face one another, and quietly engage in a game of rock-paper-scissors to determine who will have the honor of claiming his treacherous head...

Both have their own scare tactics one looks like a giant superhuman blender and the other is a space marine with nearly equal strength to a custodian and those guys are known beasts.
If Asterion is a custodian then he is head and shoulders above Tyberos. Custodians are on a completely different tier of martial prowess, speed, and agility. Without all of the theories, I would say Tyberos has the upper hand.

This is one of those fights in a movie where a guy is willing to take the spear in his gut just to lodge it there and lock in close to the speedier fighter. Once in, the larger brute just rips the other one to pieces. Classic!
Thats why you leave it in and draw a sword ... because everyone who fought with a spear had a secondary weapon. Unless they were a filthy peasant.

This is funny. I can imagine him being a floating head, but he would still have some sort of weak points in his mechanical organs somehow inside that armour, i guess. But it's a good point.
@@therealnoodledog6660 You never know. His body could be strengthened with some sort of advanced enhancements from the Dark Age, capable of rivaling the bio-alchemy used to built the Custodes. Valarian's a shield captain and even he wasn't certain that he could win against Moloc.

I'm not convinced that Tyberos isn't actually a heresy-era marine, given the space shark's heavy use of cryo-sleep in between deployments, and the fact that 30K marines were generally bigger due to the geneseed being less watered down.

I'm convinced the Space Sharks were founded by a group of the marines Corvus Corax sent into deep space never to be seen again, and Tyberos was one of the few to live long enough to see the 41st millennium
Moloc has so many “ifs” when Tyberos has a lot of facts of how he could do damage. Just saying.
I mean one fact everyone in the comments is forgetting in the sea of if's is that he IS an astarte's killer and he DID make a high level custodies seriously consider he might lose. His war gear IS NOT average and is quite op. Same chapter master who beat the crap out of the Ultra Marines (during the matt ward era no less)
@@Noble6Espeo This is true, and there was also a few “ifs” on Tyberos (such as the origin of his claws) though I still personally think Tyberos would be the victor in this fight.
…However, if it was a chapter war then sooner or later Tyberos would die to Moloc. Since we are pretty sure someone or something keeps bringing him back to life somehow with his memories intact, it would only be a matter of time before he could best Tyberos.

@@heliosjollywolf9552 their gear isnt Herasy era. While their founding isnt confirmed they use the grey and red tithes to keep their troops and warbear up to date that much is known. Mind you I'm not advocating for Maloc, simply pointing alot of people on both sides are quick to point out the hypotheticals of the other side while leaving their own alone.

I think Moloch was just supposed to be a strong marine at one point but GWs ineptitude to draw clear boundaries mean a strong Goblin could be given enough juice to beat a space marine if a certain writer was a goblin larper.
Moloch should basically be a custodian at this point.
And if hunger and slake are primach weapons he ain't blocking crap.

Actually Majorkill Hunger and Slake come from Ashen Claws. The Ashen Claws are OG Raven Guard from Terra. Not Astral Claws. The Ashen Claws Chapter Master demanded their return but punked out like a bitch when he refused Tybros' challenge.

Be careful with using the "there are cases of a Custodian killing multiple Astartes" as an argument to give it to Moloch, because they are also derp moments like "unarmoured World Eater kills an armoured Custodian with his fists".
Like many such encounters, it purely depends no who gets the plot armour at any given time.
One derp does not nullify dozens of examples.
The exception does not change the rule.

Graham McNeill admitted that at the time he wrote that, he thought custodes were just elite humans with good gear. Auramite is stronger than adamantine, unlike space marines' bones, regardless of a custodian's prowess.
Modern depictions of custodes show them butchering space marines. Inferno stated that across the Prospero battlefront, each custodian averaged twelve terminator kill with sisters present or four without.
Harlequins easily kill Custodes.

I find the more reliable answer would be Tyberos, I mean IF he does actually have siege primarch weapons, what is a shield going to do? And the amount of IF's that need to be thrown in to make Mr. Spartan win makes it feel more like a chance for him rather then a gaurentee.
I also doubt that the reach advantage is too significant. If Moloc get's close enough to stab or slice towards Tyberos he is also in reach for those giant claws to reach him back.
@@stompa6424 Yeah, Tiberos is taller than Moloc, so Moloc's range from spear would be equal or inferior to the range of Tiberos' arms and his claws. So the only way Moloc can use his advantage is if he would attack his hands, which i doubt would do much. Cuz if those really are Corax's claws than I doubt Moloc have strength equal to primarch to be able to damage them.
I was thinking that. Those gauntlets are meant to rip down a fortress wall and kill anything on the other side of it. A shield wouldn't last long.
@@gerardmontgomery280 Exactly that, and as stated up a little bit too the range advantage aswell doesn't mean much. The shield at most could take a couple hits, but that doesn't mean much when the guy throwing the hits, slams like an ion cannon, and also swings faster then normal astartes, while practically being a land raider with legs
I agree, don't know much about either of them and I'm not a space marine player, but most of the information supporting Moloch's advantages seem to be fan speculation or rumour. At the very least, handing Moloch a win should have been caveated on this basis. If you discount even a little of the speculation about Moloch you see a win for Tyberos.

imo while the shield would not be penetrated, it would just get ripped from the hand, or with the hand if moloc gripped too hard. If you ever used a chainsaw and it gripped the wood you know what I am talking about. And remember that most portrayal of chain weaponry is wrong in every single animation, they dont spin at a regular speed, it would not be effective against anything, instead imagine a cnc on crack but in a chainsaw. A typical chain on a chainsaw moves around 25-30 m/s. Chain weaponry in 40k is often described as howling because the spin is disturbing the air around them.
Not a 40k expert (or physics for that matter), so correct me if I'm wrong but are they like chainswords, in that they have a mono-molecular cutting edge? If so would they not cut rather than generate torque by rip tearing like a chainsaw?
Edit: On second thought, your point about distributing the air and if they are displacing that than they are probably generating a lot of force cutting through a soild is a good one and probably correct.
Points well made on both sides mate, however I would disagree with you on the one point about Tyberos being slow and ungainly. We have multiple cases in the lore where large marines with prodigious skills and strength are able to move terminator armor on par with any normally armored space marine. Abbadon being the most notable. That combined with the fact that the Carcharodons actively hunt in the deepest regions of space and likely regularly have to deal with the speed of Tyrranids, I'm going to say that Tyberos is more than capable of keeping up with the speed of Moloc. Other than that though it would be an absolutely epic show down
In fact, Tyberos is one such example, being stated to be faster in his armor than any normal marine from his chapter according to the book he’s most prominently featured in.
he never said he was slow, just not agile. Running fast does not mean god at dodging since those two are different skills.
@@Mr.Monacle he’s fast but not agile, that’s the biggest disadvantage of most of these high tier armors, Tyberos tho would be exceptional tho yes but Moloch has a Op shield and godly op spear and basically endless amounts of knowledge, Minotaurs are known for literally killing anything in sight
@@Gabriel-cg9tj agile doesn’t mean much. Having (just for fun) spared with someone who used spear and shield bear handed, you get close it is over. I grabbed that shield and used it as a way to control him, the hand based weapons are awesome in Warhammer for this reason. Ultimately it comes to the point of the question being how fast can one reach the other and how deadly is long range to them?
You can't just move towards someone who has a spear. If you're only fast but not agile, you'll get stabbed.

@@Noble6Espeo And Shark Daddy’s wargear isn’t average as well 😂 Also he didn’t consider he might lose. He wasn’t sure he might win. That is a difference. The same Custodes said that Constantine Valdor would easily win. And he was not a high level Custodes. And I say that despite him being my personal favorite custodes character.
The reason I personally give it to Tyberos is because one important thing to note In his lore is that one of his favorite combat tactics is repeatedly teleporting with his terminator armor since it has a built in teleporter. teleporting into enemy lines, murdering them and then teleporting again. So if he used that against Moloch he could immediately kill the range and shield advantage by simply teleporting behind him.

Even without teleporting, his claws design are actually designed in a way they can hook onto shields. Tyberos can hook the shield to move it to give him and opening to attack or try to take it sheld off the other guy.

At this point Logan wins as Dante is weak and still recovering from his near death fight with the Swarmlord. However in their peak I give it to Dante as he is faster and far more experienced and has better gear.
they have actually sparred before - and dante won, one reason that the blood angels are welcomed at the fang with open arms. This is some old lore from way back btw - in the old codex books.
It was sparring though - not a death match.
Its basically like Oberyn and the Mountain. Sure the Spartan's speed and skill can theoretically tumble the big man many times, maybe even bring him to his knees, but the Red Wake just needs one clean shot, just one.
That would be a bad comparison as Asterion isn't far of in size and would not be one shotted.

People tend to overvalue skill and agility in a straight fight. There's a reason we use rigid weight classes for fighting sports. If Moloch is a Custodies or had significant time to prep the scene, I'd give him the edge. Throw them both in the octagon and hit the bell? The Hulk takes it every damn time.
Weight classes don't matter once weapons enter the equation. Also, Moloc is bigger than Tyberos, by a lot. A head taller = ~8", custodes are about 2' higher

Moloc is either custodes or custodian sized. Custodes are around 9' tall. Therefore he is around 1'4" taller than Tyberos

It would be even better, if GW didn't lock Corax in that semi-demon-who-knows-where-he-is state. So there'd be a chance, that Tyberos is really Corax plus some acid baths for disguise.
Moloc could be a combination of pilfered Phœnix Lord technology and some kind of heretical High Lord controlled Custodes-Astartes cross. Maybe they clone him each time or simply use the same upgrades before plugging the new body into the armour.

I'm partial to the theory that Asterion is actually a surviving Thunder Warrior that the Highlords fixed up with a bit of Astartes geneseed, size and martial prowess wise it would fit, the aura of unfettered violence that surrounds Asterion definitely fits.

Asking the real questions, eh? I take Tyberos, Moloc keeps dying and getting re-uploaded but Tyberos just keeps wrecking shop.
If they have some way of bringing Moloch back then he likely takes on even greater challenges than Tyberos, because death just seems to be a minor inconvenience to this guy. Things that would be suicidal for Jaws are tempting opportunities for the Swarm Lo- Asterion
They're both in Terminator armour; lore wise the armour is bulky making the wearer extremely slow (and if the Space Hulk video games are any indication, only capable of moving quickly when going forward). I theorise that, Tyberos, having a similar fighting style to Pre-Heresy Angron, would charge into Moloc, and beat his ass into the ground through the sheer size difference. Sure, Moloc's Black Spear may penetrate Tyberos' armour, but the likelihood is, that it wouldn't be instantly fatal (unless it went straight through his head), and The Red Wake isn't exactly known for being passive in a fight. Yes, Moloc has a shield, but when two things with power fields collide (shield & H&S), the kinetic shock is applied equally, and Tyberos would be in a better position to resist it, seeing as his armour is heavily reinforced, and Moloc is basically a Lego construction set with his sheer quantity of cybernetics. Thus, I reckon that 7/8 out of 10 fights would go to Tyberos.
One thing I think you're forgetting champ. Tyberos having fought many xenos means he's fought creatures with top tier agility on the regular, though he has less combat against others of his kind I don't think Molocs agility would be as big an issue as you think. The setting of the fight also matters a great deal....not much room to dodge in a hallway or small gladiator pit. An open field would be a bigger issue though. Either way I'd wind up giving this to Tyberos only because the big ol' eternal spartan theory is just a theory with no confirmation.

Iron warriors though, that's something; but maybe while they fought, Gaunt hurt their insecurity by calling them worse than imperial fists; and chucked a grenade in while the iron babies had a panic attack.

I have to say I don't think the shield would do much shark daddies claws are hook in the same manor as alot of disarming weapons used through out history. with the strength disadvantage I feel maloch would lose that shield to a hook grab real fast
Storm shields aren't like regular shields, they emit a field similar to other power weapons. Pretty sure you can't just grab them.

@@eduardojara6955 The Doom Slayer in lore is literally a god yet Majorkill had him struggle with a Space Marine then later said that the Doom Slayer would lose more often than not while later having the Chief in another one of his battles win five times out of ten or something along those lines despite fans of both DOOM and HALO both agreeing that the Doom Slayer would kick Chief's ass. I agree with all of his other ones but that one just shows a fundamental lack of understanding of DOOM lore.

Thing about Tyberos' weapons, those power claws are hooked. Those are the natural enemies of shield because they can hook the edges. If Tyberos has the edge in strength and he hooks that shield, Moloc needs to fight it off, let go of the shield and fight off the other claw, or hang on and get some frequent flyer miles.

Tyberos is as big as a Primarch standing at twelve feet tall without armor according to badab war lore. We find this out when Cullen goes to investigate the Carcharadons over their offer of assistance and their claim of being summoned by Terra. I'm actually of the belief that Tyberos is one of the two missing Primarchs. Like the guy has been out there for an unknown amount of time but at least a Millenia with half his face stripped to the bone and yet he is still ticking. That's sounds like a Primarch esc achievement imo.
I like the idea that moloc is a custodes that the highlords had made for them, as in the same or a similar process was used.
Not possible, all custodes were exclusively created by the emperor himself.

The past lives theory refers to normal space marines and is a separate theory while the custodian theory is another one in itself
Here’s an alternative theory, the reason they are both so big and so powerful with questionable origins is because they are the 2 missing primearchs. Then that would also be why their legions are so unique. Unfortunately gw would never confirm that because the missing 2 primearchs are a great point of theory for the community

I've got a theory regarding Moloc:
If ya Boi really is Custodes, and those guys are exceptionally hard to kill. Then even with absurdly low successful induction rates eventually their numbers would swell to silly levels.
What if veteran Custodes who've proven themselves beyond the measure of the rest are awarded their own chapter. That they can meet direct threats to the Throne further from home. (?)

They knew he was there, so they targeted him with 3 lascannons. He brought 4 of them with him in the Void. There was no glory in this battle, if you could even call it as such. One by one they fell, a lucky shot taking out a scout, a power sword dismembering a void brother,a piece of shrapnel slicing off one of the scout legs. And there the smaller brother saw him, HIM of all these treacerous bastards: Asterion Moloc, the Brazen Warlord and Master of the Minotaurs. He was massive, adorned in his Artificier Tartaros Terminator armour he stood taller than many of the Red Bretheren, the hood section of the armour rising more than 3 meters in the air.The young scout only heard legends about him, whispers of death and slaughter that resounded where ever he went. The iconography on the plate was ancient in meaning and style, depicting brutal combat rituals more adept to the World Eaters than to the Minotaurs. In his right hand a spear, incredibly similar to those of the fabled Adeptus Custodes but with a dark blade that promised death. A large lascannon was on top of it in the place of the usual bolter, the barrel scorching hot from the recent fire. In his left hand a shield, almost as tall as him and finely decorated with their chapter symbol, an additional power field generator providing extra protection. He overlooked the area with an almost bored gaze and after a second moved forward, crushing a Carcharodon skull under his armoured boot. The scout knew he would have died, he understood as soon as he saw the Bringer of Wrath. The magazines were empty, his combat knife was shattered and he could not reach none of his brothers weapons. He prepared himself to meet the Ancestors and closed his eyes, praying for his chapter survival in silence.
Then...
HE came.
In a flash of light he recognised as a teleporter appeared out of thin air a figure. As soon as it materilized every instinct within him screamed to run, rUN, RUN, *RUN AWAY YOU FOOL* . The massive being took a step forward and while the strides of Moloc cracked the ground, they were exaggerated, made on purpose, with swagger. The newcomer split the rockcrete and adamatium with every restrained step he took, splinters and dust rising at every movement of his legs. He was truly gigantic, more akin to a Primarch in size. The TDA he wore was visibly thicker than the one of His Red Bretheren. Additional Adamantium rods supported incredibly heavy plating, more similar to those on a Dreadnought chassis than those of a Terminator. If Asterion stood 3 meters tall then Tyberos the Red Wake, Shade Lord and Master of the Carcharodon rose at almost 4, dwarfing everything and everyone in the room. The great maws of their insignia, the Shark, were displayed on the hood of his armour, along with many markings and tribal symbols earned during his millennia long life. Hunger and Slake were already awake, the twin gigantic siege claws with underbite chainblades roaring in anger and bloodlust, each of them larger than a space marine torso and the massive blades longer than their arms. He looked briefly at the young scout, his lenses as black as the Void, before directing his silent gaze on the Brazen Warlord. Moloc didn't wait 'I assume you are the Chapter Master, correct?'. Only silence answered him. 'Very well. The High Lords demand that yo-'.
' *Death* '. The voice of the Lord Reaper of the Void cut off the Satrap of the Daedelos Krata. It was deep, barely above a whisper and yet as powerful as an explosion. The young scout heart was gripped by a primal fear, technically impossibile for him, and yet present. Asterion took a step back, and so did many of the Minotaurs Astartes. The Red Wake was pointing at one of the younger Carcharodons. He moved the massive finger to the torn form of Ath-ket, coverd in the enemy and his own blood, the anger becoming palpable from him. ' *Death* '. He finally aimed his fist to Asterion, spear in hand and ready to charge, the blade shining with energy while his gaze remained locked on the monster before him.
Hunger and Slake both shrieked in rage.

Most primarchs are just short of 3 meters tall, or 9.84ft - so Tyberos would be taller than a primarch, which i believe would be impossible, unless he is a primarch himself or a clone of one.
Wasn't the Lion short of 3 meters OUTSIDE power armor? Plus there is oficial art that shows Guilliman and Sanguinius to be 2 times taller than a regular man, so they have to be at least 10-12 feet
From what I’ve gathered there is little consistency, aside from a general height order with the Gorgon being the biggest followed by Vulkan followed by Mortarian and so on and so forth until you get to Alpharius who is the most consistently stated to be about 9 feet tall. The height of Magnus also varies from the tallest to very middle of the pack. That said, most sources say they are more than twice height of a man. Not sure where you’re getting the whole 3 meters thing from honestly.
@@Mr.Monacle In descent of angels, the Lion was stated to be just short of 3 meters. While in the unremembered empire, guilliman noticed he was slightly shorter than the Lion. In the same book, Konrad was mentioned to be taller than both. There were never any exact numbers, but the Lion is probably 296-298cm. Guilliman a few cm short than that, while Konrad being at 3m sharp or slightly taller.
Moloc would beat Tyberos and make him fall down. He would then carelessly walk besides Tyberos' body, who would grab his leg, yank him to the ground, then climb up on top of him and smash his head in. Moloch would die instantly but Tyberos would not survive the spear wounds.
The Squat noble Moloc was trying to protect would be able to flee to safety.

Before watching, I am going to say I am in the corner of Reaper lord of the void. Dude is soloing the tyranid equivalent of boarding torpedo... Dont think Moloc can do that, even if he is custodes. Now lets see what Majorkill thinks...
I think that this is quite a fair conclusion as no matter how fast an astartes is laser is always faster as its going speed of light and if the laser can blow up tanks the armor wont really give much protection against it
You can, however, avoid the laster by just not being in front of the spear.

Personally I'd pick Moloc though. Tyberos can only use the weapons built into his armour, but if all else fails Asterion can always drop a melta bomb and book it.

I mostly agree with this, except for one point. And that's IF Tyberos's weapons are truly siege gauntlets made for a Primarch then there is no way any normal non-relic weapon should be able to block them without being torn in half. Or any armour for that matter, even custodian armour.
Moloc was given the advantages of what we know, theories, and opposing theories. We don't know if he is a custodian, we don't know if he gets data uploaded, we don't know the capabilities of his weapon etc. However him being a custodian cannot coexist with the data upload theory. Yet he was given everything that was possible, even if they are not possible at the same time. Basically I am saying what we know for certain about Moloc loses to Tyberos. If Moloc was a custodian he probably loses to Tyberos. If Moloc is data uploaded he loses to Tyberos. If Moloc is a custodian/data upload with a custodian tankbuster spear, then maybe he wins. He needs both theories before he has a chance.

Out of interest, whats your source for Tyberos armor being modified with dreadnought armor? I looked for actual sources and everywhere I looked it only said that he wears a heavily modified tactical dreadnought armor, wich is just a fancy word for Terminator Armor.

I believe the modified bit should clue you in, regardless of whether or not Tyberos uses Dreadnought armor, the fact he requires his own specialized terminator to fit his size is a feat in of itself
Modified can mean pretty much anything from a few additional plates to there's not much of the original armor left.

Upon waking Guilliman tore through Black Legion terminators, berzerkers and sorcerers like a fat kid through cake. He was so fast, the Ynnari had trouble keeping up. He also has his father's sword, the only counter to that being Drachnyen. He would straight up murder both Moloch and Tyberos combined.
if tyberos gets a hold of him, molocs done for, but moloc intimidated a max level custodes...so hes probably way more hardcore than a dreadnought sized space marine.
