The Lodge Card Club is a members-only social club in Round Rock, Texas (just north of Austin). With 24/7 cash games and 2+ tournaments per day, The Lodge is THE place to play poker in central Texas. The Lodge Live is streamed every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday at 3PM CT.
You never know what you might see on The Lodge Live stream. You might see Pocket Aces vs Pocket Kings. You may see the nut straight lose to a full house after the board pairs on the river. There's a good chance you will see loads of straddles (and double straddles, and triple straddles). Players go all-in blind or play poker hands after looking at just one card. That's just what poker is like in Texas!
The stream regularly features Lodge owners Brad Owen, Andrew Neeme, and Doug Polk. Players like Rampage, Mariano, and Igor Kurganov has also graced The Lodge Live felt. And who knows? One day The Lodge may even host players like Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, Phil Ivey, or similarly huge poker names. - Развлечения
“You have 9 jack” is the coldest line I’ve ever heard
Pretty sick read considering Polk raised on flop
My first reaction was Holy Crap, That's Amazing .. then it was like .. oh, yeah, he realized that Doug's betting on an open-ender. Still very cool.
@@talexb Yea, but Doig raised the flop, so that makes it a bit more impressive that he called his exact holding.
@@dawnmarie2893 the small bet sizing was to lure a raise, he wasn't going anywhere
@@donkeykong1234 that wasn't the point I was making.
Thought yall were talking about the K8 there for a second. Q2 is sick
Yeah, idk what happens on the river yet, but the K8 hand would be pretty standard to call an all in on the river.
Makes me think of the infamous J4. Doug is an owner of the club and this is an insanely thin call.
@@Demgar1 he plays with foxen alot he probably just had a sole read
@@Demgar1 quite a bit different circumstances. Ones a cash game, the other is late in a tournament, where the SB just limped, but I didn’t watch the tournament, so I’m not sure how often he was limping the SB (he also did this with K8) but a TON of factors go into making a call like that. Would that person over bet with ace high and show down value?? In that situation, king high has decent show down value too, so why over bet the river?
Subtle note of J4
I know it's been a while, but I just want to say how happy it makes me that Doug is still playing this game.
nice to see poker with a bit of ribbing and laughs at a nice venue. Hope your stream gets bigger and we can enjoy this for some time to come!
Bro....broooo...brobrobrobobrooo...WTF!?? That was quite possibly the most AMAZING call I've seen in the past DECADE!!! So Sick. So Effin SICK!! BROOO
There's several J4o hands on YT that are next level shit. Seidel one of them.
Look up David Kitai, he has some of the most insane hero calls in poker and at final tables for massive ICM
Calling Doug’s hand was sickest call of the video
He made great calls and folds. Never forget when he flopped the bottom straight and folded against Hellmuth
Yes! I think pretty much everyone knows Hellmuth is always nutted in that spot and never has a bluff. But in that situation in the heat of the moment, there is no way 99% of us can talk ourself out of it and fold the second nuts. Credit to Doug for being that disciplined and think rationally when he was really put to the test.
Sickest fold I’ve ever seen
This Q high call is worlds more insane than folding bottom straight vs a monster overbet by a tight player like phil. This q high call is crazy
It's super impressive to make a call like that against any player, let alone, Alex Foxen.
This why players like Foxen get paid off on rivers
Foxen is awful, always has been.
@@supdall345 he seems to be doing fine there...
@@supdall345 he is one of the best in tournaments what are you talking about hahahaa. Did you also forget he won this tournament that you are watching 😂. I swear some people are just plain stupid
@@supdall345 lol you’re obviously the pro with 2x more tournament wins
Doug Polk needs to be talked about more. One of the greats. His personality, humor and poker IQ are unmatched I feel. So Doug Polk, if you see this comment, I salute you, and I learn a lot from you.
Some sick reads, high level poker
Love how honest the sweaty handshake is :D
11:02 👈🏼😂 Garrett getting called in this situation: Give me my money back…there’s no way that you called me with Q high !! 😡🤣
there's multiple videos of Garrett getting felted just like that now famous one. Even the announcer said 10 seconds before," Garrett has a bad habit of going all in here." She wasn't cheating
@@jamescollier3 nobody talks about 24 hours earlier; Pearsons made garrett pay for a card and still called and lost a huge pot when he didn't have to... looking super silly. then the next night robbie gets him with jack high.. he thought he was in a dream and was desperate to do anything to not make it one
not even remotely close to the same situation, clown
No - Garrett would understand the Q2 call. Doug not blocking 5/7 or spade - the natural bluffs. And Q is beating bluffs. The J4 hand was so insane because Robbi is losing to hAx hKx - natural bluffs as well as being dead v all value.
Dude, Let me use your same theory 😂 the same way Doug is not blocking some bluff like 5 7, He’s not blocking many bluff with an A or K included and He’s not blocking any made hand like J9, 6 4 or 6 9 suited so your point is irrelevant. BLOCKING is the most overrated term in poker…Doug was tilted, made a stupid call and got lucky…plain and simple !!
He called his hand wow😮that’s tuff GGs
He still got felted after the two great calls versus Foxen, though. Poker can be rough. As the recently departed Doyle Brunson once said, “Some times you’re the bug, some times you’re the windshield.”
Hero calls are so cool to watch
For anyone interested in a fairly long and theoretical analysis of the Q2 call:
Doug is a gto player and his thinking here is a lot more theoretically based than you might think here, it isn't like he's done this based on a sick live read. On the turn Doug has to defend really wide against a minbet having to call a big percentage of his range. Foxen will have ace high, maybe good king kigh for value. Foxen will never bet his queen highs as they are too in the middle of.his range, and if he bluffs them he will be massively overbluffing. On river with this size Foxen is only betting his really strong hands and really weak hands here, never betting rivered two pair for this size and always checking his ace and king highs. So in Doug's shoes he has all these queen, king, ace highs, and weak 2 pairs all of which are just bluff catchers and have the same value, and he knows he hasn't got enough trips and top pair to only call those. Foxen's value range maybe starting from some of his strongest Jx for this size. So he has to decide what to call based on blockers. Foxen's most common bluffs are going to have interaction in the middle of the board. Also, whilst Foxen is playing an incredibly wide range in the SB, a lot of the hands that he will actually fold are offsuit 2's. So hands like 52o and 32o won't appear in his bluffing range. And as Foxen will never bluff with a hand as good as queen high on the turn, holding a Queen will only ever block value bets. Doug holds two cards that don't interact with many bluffs and block value which means Foxen is more likely to have a hand that he's bluffing with than value betting, even if Foxen is balanced. Doug probably decided he will call this one before some of his ace and king highs or even 2pairs like 54, where a 5 is the most common cards in his bluffing range. Despite being only queen high its actually one of the best bluff catchers he can have in terms of the cards he holds. Often these differences are fairly small, but over time these small differences add up to a lot of money.
tha Q high is such an online heads up call i love it
That is an ABSURD call….. wow
You know after that Q high call Foxen is wondering what his tell is that he gave off to Doug.
He was ready for a fist pump instead of a hand shake. That was funny, lol.
Are the metal detectors needed in Texas?
Thanks. ✌🏻👊🏼
Doug Polk thanks for all the amazing training it has made me from a very good chess player to a half decent poker player!
Alex Foxen was great in Blue Mountain State and Jack Reacher.
Alex absolutely out classed , Doug is on a different level, Alex needs Up swing poker lesson
I’m very surprised you guys don’t have way more subscribers.
New Title: DOUG POLK IN A CALLING EVERYTHING MODE !!
where? when?
Yep. Insane call indeed
I needed a cigarette after that AMAZING call from Doug. Moses sandals!
Now that’s a fantastic call .. the sizing on the river is basically a monster or bluff there’s no in between .. foxen is going to raise a majority of ace x king x pre .. maybe even some queen x suited .. and you’d think if he had a j or 6 he would prob put a bet out on the flop … so the river bet is certainly odd because of the size .. nuts or nothing .. I think the real reason he went with that sizing was just to target Doug’s stack size because that’s a really tough call for half your stack so .. exceptional read
Q2 call is fucking insane
Never seen Doug so serious.
Where is your big mask protection Foxxen!? 🤣
Would love to know what doug was thinking on Q high call.
recipe for continued success......Just keep the camera on Anastasia while the hands play.
What is Foxen trying to get to fold in the 95o hand? There aren't really draws that would have gotten to the river. Not saying that I would know better than him, I just don't get it. Help me out
Amazing called by Doug. Would love to know what he was thinking before making that called.
Foxen bet earlier w air, in the bvb situation, and was prob looking to check raise this time, but doug checked back, probably aware of foxen's plan. foxen has so many open enders and gutters and isn't incentivized to bluff w A high (at all really) or K high (maybe some combos) so he either has trips, full house or air and doug took the flip. note: this is just my layman opinion and i could be totally wrong.
Im sure we will get a review
Fox and really can't have an ace or a king there because he would have raised preflop. And he doesn't really have a 4 or 6 because he would have bet the flop. So the six on the turn doesn't help him that's why I dug calls. And then the 9 on the river sure it could hit foxing but there's still a lot of combos that foxing is bluffing with. And doing a hundred fifty percent on the pot is saying he has a monster hand or nothing at All if you'd bet like 65% of the pot on the river Doug probably folds although I'm not really sure about that

Here is my amateur monday morning QB on the Q2 hand Foxen drops a chip when he value bets the turn. Which could be a tell for weakness or a very strong hand but the flop is relatively rainbow though he is open ended. On the river he over bets the pot which is weird as if he hit the 9 for two pair he would bet for value and be 1/2 or 2/3s pot maybe. The over bet does not match the action. It shows a bluff or low pair. But a low pair would likely check the river as it would only be called by a big hand.
This is a hard call. The no pre raise likely means no K or A. The check on flop means unlikely on a draw and increases chances of a 4 or maybe maybe a 6.
6 turn lowers chance of having 6 and increases chance of a 4 or maybe 7 - 10 or maybe J high
In my opinion the 9 should be hitting bettors range.
I think the issue is his preflop check and river overbet. It’s a peculiar line imo
People showing their ignorance with constant comparisons to the J4 hand. RUclips chatpros (or commentpros) are the constant reminder that poker isn't dead.
Insane!!!!!!!
The lodge needs a darker background like Hustler Casino, were the players are lit up the background is darker
Whoever came up with the clickbait title completely overshadowed how insane that guy's callout of Doug's hand was. He's not really asking he's fairly sure you can tell in his voice. As could Doug - that obvious, huh?
Call w Q high & straight to the comments!
Alex Foxen must be telling the most unbelievable stories of all time.. or Doug just knows him so well that he reads him like a book!
‘Ranges’.
-Doug Polker
Most people you see call down with Q2 no pair are terrible at poker and just calling stations. But its Polk and he makes some sick calls and folds
Set and setting is everything. In a cash game at your local 1/3 this is burning money mostly. In a high roller against a capable opponent who checked back flop its completely reasonable
What the hell is he calling with a queen high for? This dude is a madman
dealer should be serving drinks
„Honey he called me with Queen high!“
Sweaty handshake might be the best needle ever..lol
What is it that the room needs to add to the stream. Elevator music? Dancing girls? Side pots? Street performers? Horse race monitors? I dunno.
Anyone else think that 15k would have more likely got a fold than 60k overbet?
Idk did you see that girl that called J4 against garret A? You should look into it.
Doug’s call wasn’t as impressive as the 9J read, Roxen repping such narrow range and never has A or K high, doesn’t bet a J for this size he checks a rivered 9 so he repping 666 or better and then doug sometimes loses to better Q x, problem with foxes 1.5 pot bet is Doug has all 6x in HIS range , it’s more just a spot where foxen is correctly leveraging stack sizes and icm but Doug being the shortest stack does get to hero some hands QT makes a nice call not losing to much Qx from foxen and also unblocking all foxen bluffs
Dude is argubly the best 1v1 hu player in the world, these plays should be expected. Nh but standard imo.
Both lines by alex are questionable and bluff heavy
hero call hand at 7:44
Friggen insane call
Doug keeps making these Q2 high calls on the river he's gonna be in Robbis shoes surprised Alex didn't ask for that pot back
He can probably fold the Q2. But it’s pretty reasonable with a slight inclination that Foxen over bluffs paired boards.
It’s totally different to the J4 spot. There Robbi was losing to a bunch of natural bluffs: hAx/Kx in particular.
Here the call has poker logic behind it.
Pre-flop has discounted A/K a fair bit from both of them. Foxen is polarised on the river between trips and air; likely his air is spade-spade or a straight draw.
Doug is beating most of the air and has no 3,5,7,8,spade in his hand so call is perfectly reasonable.
Q2 is the new J4
Absolutely cannot ever...never ever...punt shit off like this. Fishy fish. Funky fresh fillet. Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
When did Jack Reacher start playing poker?
Someone please explain how he makes that call with Q2. Unless he had him pegged for 35 or 57. But still .. Q high??
that wasnt GTO doug had a tell foxen was bluffing, probably jamming the river or taking to long to bet on the turn when there are two aces on the table
At 8:00 minutes, guy gets wanded coming into the room. Checking for weapons???? Jeeze....
better safe than sorry... nothing wrong with being careful.
I like to troll Doug but that was a hell of a call
i like that guy gets super sweaty and has napkins next to him for it .
Investigation?
If I lost a huge hand to Q high I would yell out to the foreman : "hey, can I get in a softer game!?"
investigation
wow..
Garret would have rage quit. Any hand Alex foxen loses is a great hand of poker!!
Suggestion for a table bet. Each time a player shuffles their chips has to pay each player $100.
not sure why this isn't looked at crazier Q2, versus J4 not much difference except the guy with Q2 owns the venue and is the dealers boss.....
its not even close to the same situation
LMFAO tell me you’re the most clueless poker player without telling me you’re the most clueless poker player, this is like saying earth is as livable as the sun
lmao such infinitely different spots
J4 call made no sense. Q2 call logical.
Q2 is not blocking any turn semi-bluffs (spades, 3,5,6,7) and yet is beating bluffs; remember AF low pairs, A,K check.
J4 is losing to hKx/hAx - natural bluffs in that spot and also Robbi had repped a bunch of strength in that hand and should comfortably fold the bottom of her range.
Great call Vanessa
He was supposed to accuse Doug of cheating... J4 type.....
Where the outcry...J4 Robbie sparks controversy but Q2 doesn't. lol...AND their playing in Doug's casino.
The Q2 call was nice, buddy played it horrible though. Bet flop dummy and you win the pot, soon as turn pairs. Your gonna have to hit river to win the hand. River overbet was the kicker though. Doug is a hu pro, he knows these spots better then most of the world.
Q high not as good as J high. Robbie is still the goat. Old meaning, not the new one.
Doug is just as good Robbie with these calls
Almost.
That's not Vanessa Selbst?
fucking legend
This is almost a Robbie hand lol call the Q2 the Polk
Not quite
Good thing he wasn’t playing against Garrett
A broken clock is right twice a day.
Those legs at 7:53
Dougs purely the best player there
These guys all seem like a new weird poker vibe .
Whats the dealers name?
The cute blonde lady at the start? And the lady at the end? Asking for a friend.
Doug soul reads Alex
Garrett needs to investigate that call…
You ok down there?
K8 call is easy to call for me 🤷🏻♂️
What’s better, the Q2 call or the “you got 9J?”
Both equally sick.
Station 🤣
You want a good sweat, follow Bin.
Can we get a fulltime camera on the dealer? This girl is gorgeous man...
I think i speak for everyone when I say nothing, quiet in amazement
Didn't even think about it, easy call.
Do you have 9J ?
Right call like a god
