Since their introduction over 25 years ago, I think Dragon Ball has wasted the endless potential in Goten and Trunks. But I'm happy to see that the immediate future for Dragon Ball Super focuses on them.

I agree that Goten and Trunks didn't get any relevant moments after the Buu Saga and that was over 20 years ago.. but I enjoyed some of the interactions between the two Trunks in the Black Saga.

I liked the last chapter of DBS and it really reminds me of the episodes where Gohan went to school
I'm pretty excited about the two of them being the protagonists this time... even if it's a small saga

honestly this new goten and trunks arc is just trunks arc. Goten is barely involved and it makes me mad because goten is my fav charecter. Im so tired of them teasing goten like with goten wanting to train with whis goten wanting to help with black and now this

Gohan WAS the main character, and he was that for the whole series up til the very end of the Buu series, I dont know why you all keep making it seem like this is something that just happened "temporarily" at the end of the Cell series, lol, you people really need to go back to the very first episode of Z, and watch it all the way through, Goku was a glorified side character Genkai, Gohan was what Toriyama was focusing all of his main screen time and emphasis on in the story, I understand though, Toei has done a great job over the past couple decades to dressing Goku up as the so called, "main character of Z" with all of their promotional material, games, apparel; and artwork.

I actually don’t disagree with your point completely. Gohan consistently had more screen time, more character development, and at some point he may have been more important for the progression of the story. But Goku was without a doubt the main character up until Cells death. Each arc was always centered doing their best until Goku could come and save them, and then Goku would have the best and most important fight of the arc. Once Goku showed up every other Z fighter got minimal spotlight after that. Cells defeat was the first time that Toriyama broke that pattern, and in turn, positioned Gohan to be the main protagonist in the way his father was. I personally don’t care about all the games, promotional material and artwork because that’s all superficial to what’s actually occurring in terms of writing a story. I understand what you’re saying, but I disagree.
