Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is an upcoming action role-playing video game published by Paradox Interactive. A sequel to Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines (2004), the game is part of the World of Darkness series and based on the tabletop role-playing game Vampire: The Masquerade. It was originally developed by Hardsuit Labs, but in February 2021 the publisher announced that production had been moved to another developer.
The game follows a human in 21st-century Seattle, who is killed and revived as a "thinblood" vampire with relatively weak vampiric abilities. It is mainly played in a first-person perspective, alternating to third-person for contextual activities. The player assigns their character one of three disciplines-unique and upgradable powers-before joining one of several vampire clans. It is planned to be released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is presented mainly from the first-person perspective, alternating to third-person for contextual activities such as specific attacks. Before the game begins, players create a vampire character, and can select a character background that informs who they were as a human, such as a barista (the default background, with no bonuses), career criminal, coroner, or a police officer, with each offering different dialog and interaction options with the game world. The player character's pronouns are chosen independently from their selected body type.

There is News from Paradox from Sept 2021 that confirms the game is still in development with a new studio and will feature the foundational work Hardsuit Labs created for the game before the two companies parted ways. The new unnamed game studio will build on that foundation so it will be similar to the demo's and trailers we have already seen. Paradox even actually killed several other projects so they would be sure to have the resources to work on Bloodlines 2. That's encouraging. Most people feel the game will probably be released sometime this year.
I don't think it will release this year, doesn't seem possible. I mean, they could, but it would turn a trainwreck.

Tbh kinda disappointed of the lack of music , that made bloodlines something else since even in the streets you had a track to roll with
huge cyberpunk vibes, the focus on graphics and scripted events instead of gameplay mechanics will kill the game calling it.....if this ever comes out that is.
1. Cyberpunk was amazing if not played on consoles.
2. Cyberpunk had 7 platforms while CD Red Projekt isn't even that big of a studio. Considering all, they done well.
3. This game's whole developement team was disbanded. I mean they fired 2 OG guys who worked on script of bloodlines and hired some Ubisoft marketeer guy short before Paradox disbanded them.
This will be a trainwreck if they decide not to listen to OG guys and completely scrap the shit they made with the new team ( Trigger warnings and other ''woke'' shit - I mean lore of WoD is full of incest, cannibalism, monstrosities etc - and I guess that's what we want from VTM:B2 - All the shit we've got from VTM:B1)
I've heard that they kicked out the OGs because they were against being woke - which considering when playing VTMB 1 I'd definitely see that possible.

@@tomassadil324 People are frustrated with Cyberpunk not because it came out very buggy, people are not frustrated with bugs, bugs are in any game. People are frustrated by the gameplay of the game. They are frustrated, for example, by the fact that the cops appear behind your back, or that only 2% of the dialogue choices affect the plot.
You cannot say that the experience on top-end PCs was "amazing", because the hardware has nothing to do with this experience. People are disappointed that this game is a shitty RPG and a shitty GTA clone. It tried to be both and failed miserably.
The voice acting is so lame compare to the first game :(

Off don't get me started on the first game, if it wasn't for the story and characters I would had left it straight away because, the gameplay was just utterly broken, but, based on the movement of the characters here and the whole aesthetic of the game I think this one will also be like that.

The best thing about Bloodlines is the story line! There are consequences for your choices. You could pick from different houses or clans. The rest of the issues were fixed by a dedicated fan base with mod skills.
How long will this development drag on off. I do want it to be fully completed to its perfection. But it's concerns me that it might end up cancelled. So much potential.

I love the vampire games but this looks lackluster I don't really understand how game studios can't get vampire games right when you have countless movies and lore to go off of they need to take pointers from old classics such as bloodrayne or Kane and raiziel seems to me like we will never get the vampire game we all love.

Hate to be like this but vampire games are some of my favorite games period, and there are very few of them so qm going to get this game regardles. I think in general many people leave their nostalgia glasses because the first game at lunch was riddled with bugs.

No. I don't agree( except about vampire games) And it's not nostalgia. I always hoped that they'd remake the first one. Or at least make a better one. But this isn't even near what I expected in 2021. Don't be fooled just by the pretty graphics. They didn't even come close to competing with other games now.
If this is their best effort....then I'm really sad. I LOVED the first one. Even with the bugs (that really weren't that bad), and the crappy acting. I do hope you enjoy this one when you get it tho.

I hate that they are leaving first person to go into third person to do things like jumping then quickly switching back to first person. That's Not needed at all and is distracting. I hope they change that in the final version and leave you in first person.

I love it. My only hopes are just the game mechanics will be similiar to the first one. More ways how to complete missions, the RPG system etc. Everything else is great. I am satisfied with the graphics etc. I am more of a gameplay than graphic gamer. I am playing the first one since release (2004) I was 13 years old when I bought the game. But its really getting boring after playing it for 18 years over and over again. I am very frustrated that from all of the games out there this must be the one with such fate as dev hell. Damn. What a bad luck for us fans. Lets keep hoping.
The younger generation will never understand how special is this. :) It may seem boring to some, but that was a goddamn revolutionary system back in our days. Only hardcore fans will jump back on this nostalgic train and enjoy the ride again (with better graphics) :)

It sucks when it comes to hand-to-hand combat and we don't have a peripheral view which, gives us better awareness about the environment around us. Also, we don't get to see our character being a badass!!!!

Lol this is never coming out. I remember seeing Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodhunt in the PS store for $49.99 then one day before it came out it showed up free on the homepage. Oh and then you have Vampire: The Masquerade Swan Song which keeps getting it’s release date pushed back 2 or 3 months what seems like every month or so and those other two VTM games that I know nothing about. A spinoff rpg, a battle royale and two animated visual novels.. these guys have no idea what they want to do w/ this franchise. At this point I’d expect a tv show, a movie and an amusement park before the second game 😆

The cyberpunk 2077 of vampire games
Ive been waiting 15 years for this game to be real. As a Huge fan of VtM - Redemption and Bloodlines, this game was one of my reasons to continue living.
Brian mitsoda got fired, the game looks aweful, the combat looks aweful, the models look aweful, the clubmusic is aweful, the dialog is brainless with 0 depth. no darkness, no atmospheare....models look like a joke or arabic vampires,maincharakter looks like an even worse version of the "Vampyr" model and this was the worst choise ever. no mythic..Vampires using shotguns..they fucked it up and i will never forgive them. I hope the Sabbat will hunt all of them and bring them eternal death.

With the quality of these dialogues and the repetitive story, reusing key parts from VTMB, don't know why people gives to much importance to all of them getting replaced, you said it yourself about the dialogues. The only bad part of it, it's the transition to a new team of developers takes a good time. By the way, Banu Haqim previously called Assamites always existed in VTM, you say you know VTM Redemption and don't know that? This is just you and your prejudices.

i'm getting cyberpunk vibes, not the good kind. An empty husk with a story, interactions with random npc's that could only be classified as nonexistent. Here is me hoping the game proves me very very wrong.
Youre most likely right, plus have you heard whats going on in the studio rn? Theres been major infighting, so bad that they fired the major lead director of the game who was incharge of the first VTMB game. Alot of the people working at the studio didnt like the directors gritty and dark take on the vampire underworld and they wanted to shove some woke agenda stuff into the game. Its gotten really bad man, its to the point where some are saying its back at square one and ALOT of his stuff has been scraped t the point where it might not even come out now and they may be facing a large lawsuit.

This is not a direct sequel, nor VTM is solely VTMB, this is just another game based on the tabletop RPG, anyway, yes, Paradox made son bad changes, because they want to appeal to the younger audiences, they're more concerned in bring them to it by just doing what others did with the vampire genre. If you learn how to develop a game, well, now you can even get money for making a VTM video game, they now have a program for it, it's just it won't be canon.

Dude development takes an extremely long time lol I feel like people forget this. If you want a game to be good, be patient. Thats all there is to it.
Just that there's a quest compass makes me lose a lot of what little hope I had left-- the settings look fine enough but the character models are... painfully generic? The Fledgling, along with the Kindred NPCs, don't feel like Kindred. They're not pale in the slightest, and the Nosferatu (while disfigured) doesn't sound anything like he looks. What happened to the gravelly smoker voice of Gorgeous Gary Golden or Bertram Tung?
The writing is so flat and dull, too... It's like they took the bare minimum of NPC quest dispensers and peppered in VTM jargon to make existing fans feel like it's better than it is simply by value of being 'in the know.' The Tremere you speak to doesn't read as one-- if she hadn't talked about her Chantry and The Pyramid, I would've guessed she was a Toreador. Basically, the dialogue feels cut and paste.
The combat in vtmb1 wasn't a highlight by any means but holy jank batman-- the melee hits are so quiet and unimpactful and the blood effects are so blocky!
If this is any indication of what we're going to get, I'm going to pass and just play the first game another 5 times. This feels like a studio who doesn't understand what made the first game compelling and instead just sees a dedicated fanbase they can take for a cheap ride.
But really how could they make facial animation worse than the original.

First Person was the appeal of the original Bloodlines game and it was a Hit.
@@DivergentDroid You can play the entirety of Bloodlines 1 in third person. Unless you wanna be pedantic and count the conversations.
@@DivergentDroid You can play it in 1st or 3rd person, I personally liked both, VTMB is immersive, this one switching to 3rd person only in certain occasions, it makes me kind of dizzy (but, that's me), particularly during that silly attack move they think it looks cool. That decision must be based on principally design, developing a game in 1st or 3rd person is different and that studio, Hardsuit, 1st big project was an FPS, since they went with 1st person, it should be that way all the time.
