"Say, start at 100." Thanks John. I think I'll start closer to...well...ten.

I remember ordering this back in the 97 when I was 15, i couldn’t believe how accurate he was. A machine.

Very old but one of the most "have to" dvd's to guitar players. This just goes through the times and always stays actual ;)

I started this exercise 4 years ago at 88 BPM I am not at 155 BPM
And I've been practicing very consistently, either it takes years to build up speed and accuracy or maybe my muscles have some type of deficiency.

I didn't say he said that at 2:00. Read the comment again. Look at the quotation marks. JP was referring to BPM. I typed 200, not 2:00.

It's all just numbers .. I'm probably about 65 bpm right now at something like this but man I wish I bought into this when I was 16 and had all the time in the fucking world to play guitar. I'm 42 now with a job/family .. and I live for my 60min a day on my axe.

I practiced a lot as a high schooler but never practiced these things. I just learned to play songs. I dedicated my highschool free time to learn "...and justice for all" by Metallica

For the rest, I absolutely agree that effort and discipline is paramount in achieving anything worthwhile, let alone playing skills comparable to Petrucci. Due to my work I don't get to play and practice as much as I'd like, but it's still enough to play in a prog metal band, though I'd say I suck ;)

I wonder if they could make the whole video go to warp speed and many people just die watching it. At 5:01 - he clicked the "kill zone" switch mode.

My favorite part... "I was at 200, let's say that was 'difficult.'" LOL

@ironmaiden146 all the greats must have felt like you do, but it takes practice, passion, and perseverance. I wanted to play the best guitar songs and solo's when I didn't even know what a scale was. It's better to play slow and clean rather than fast and sloppy.

Yeah, some people will. Not most. ;) It's not like these are opinions, this is research-backed. Put a friggin link. I actually went to the site and then tried to search for it, and the search doesn't even work if you use the Enter/Return key but only if you click on the button. Inexcusably bad usability.

Ohh! Look at his selfcontrolling it's very hard thing for a lot of people to control their hands & mind to connect them in such things and this is a key part of all virtuostic things I think... The Jordan's schools are the same...

  •  12 лет назад

*lol* That means: "let´s say you´re a human being and can´t shred like that, you probably feel a bit dizzy and might think this it difficult. Let Petruccinator help you!"

Holy shit, hire someone with a bit of online marketing skills. You get Dream Theater to spread your video but you provide no link whatsoever in the video or in the description for me to buy this? Are you placing bets on how well you can avoid making a sale?
