They really used the hearing aid to defeat it but left the rest of them in the basement at the first house it doesn't really make any sense and makes almost any interaction with them theronafter forced or unnecessary.
This is gonna sound cheesy but I actually valued the first one for being more quiet. Some scenes I was legit not making noise, although that scene in AQP2 when Regan thought she was abandoned and was crying in silence was AMAZING

I think a very large reason why the Angels are more threatening because they are never killed by a person. Only one alien dies and that’s because it killed itself. The very first reveal of the alien behind the taxi is absolutely terrifying.
⚠️spoilers for 1st movie ⚠️ I think everyone’s seen the first movie so idk why I felt the need to put that, but I’m surprised you didn’t address what I thought was the largest plot hole in the first movie. Don’t get me wrong, I love the first movie- it’s my second favorite in the series-but I don’t think there was any logical reason for the dad to sacrifice himself. It was a beautifully emotional scene that had a large and needed impact on Regan’s character, but Lee was way too smart to make the decisions he did. First of all, I recognize that he wanted to keep his kids safe from the death angels, but why was his instinct ever to fight them?? He had clearly done extensive research on them to the point that he should know the US army couldn’t even take them out! You joked about the whiteboard, but obviously one of his most valued findings was that they’re armored. Why would he swing an axe at such an indestructible creature? Not to mention that it clearly outranged him. Even after the slash he totally could have survived, but he decided that the only loud sound he could possibly make to distract the alien was the sound of his screaming voice. Could he not have chucked the axe into a barrel or something? It may have been an even more gripping and heartbreaking scene if he had tried to survive by distracting it with another sound, failed, and then intentionally sacrificed himself while the daughter was watching. Nevertheless I thought the movie was wonderfully executed and I understand that this scene was very important for the story. It’s still one of my favorite movies to this day. Here’s how I think the movies should be ranked tier wise S - Day one A - A Quiet Place B - A Quiet Place: Part II
First of all, the ranking of these movies are the exact opposite of mine but I think you explained your opinions well. Secondly, I feel like 'A Quiet Place' was an amazing movie because it caused me to be the most scared out of any movie ever. The silence and ability to hear every small and, normally, insignificant sound and make your muscles tense really stuck with me. Finally, not to hate on 'A Quiet Place - Day One', but I think that the main thing it had going for it was the cinematography. I couldn't really get into the characters other than the absolute GOAT; Frodo the cat. I also didn't like that there was less silence. I know that 'A Quiet Place - Part II' has the least silence but it was built up and I think the releases were better so yeh. My Ranking; 1. Not to be that guy but, during the flashback when the mother is driving away from the bus you can see the alien inside. It seems like it was driving it, so when you said the boat drifted over to the island instead it could have figured out how to drive it 🤷♂️ sounds stupid but could be a possibility.
