I was at this show (the club was actually called The Penny Arcade). This was a show in between Ozzfest dates. They were the headlining act, but most people were there to see Misery Signals right before SYL came on and once MS was done, most of the club cleared out - so I guess Devy was a bit bummed to see everyone leave. Life on the road doing music like this will put extra wear and tear on one's body and you can tell they were road weary. Nowadays you don't see Devin touring as heavily and the stuff he does is much easier on the vocal cords and body. That and by this point Devin was growing weary of the SYL thing (which was supposed to be a side / joke metal band for a few years - but at the time it was paying the bills)...
Which is kinda interesting, because on The New Black and Ziltoid he somehow pulled off great vocals. He probably just didn't care/was too lazy to sing properly
I think that he sounded great in the studio on Alien and Synchestra too. I think it was just a combination of constant touring, weed (dries your throat out like crazy), and how much screaming longer than yor breath allows there is in these songs. 2009 and afterwards he was always good live because while he still is touring constantly he is not smoking any weed and making sure that he has room to breath (see his recent performances of Night). In general it's really inspiering to see how much he improved both as a musician and human being after he decided to get his life together.

such a great fucking song, and I never saw this video before!! Thanks for uploading this one man!
Favorite song of syl ! Awesome !
pretty fuckin sweet
Miss you SYL.
I bet this was horrible to sing live. Apart from that I think this must be one of their best songs.
No, Devin just was at his worst vocal condition ever in 2005-06.
Yeah I bet if he sang this now, it would sound amazing, I still love it though.
Anyone that can pull this off vocally is to be applauded
