Fred Rodgers had such a profound effect on me as a man. I had a very difficult childhood, he was the father I never had. When i see him, Fred Rodgers was not weak, he was very strong. This man was pure undiluted intention and no ego. He had no interest in himself. The only thing he cared about were the children he was talking to. I watch him now as an adult and can imagine what Christ was like in person.
I absolutely, wholeheartedly believe Mr. Rogers was the closest thing that Christ asked us to be. He was filled with the Holy Spirit all his days. May the Lord bless him.
Im 25 and battling depression. I still watch his show to this day and I can say confidently it has impacted my mental health in such a positive light. His message of love was so pure and true and sometimes you just need to be reminded that you are in fact special and that you are loved. He was a good man and our world lost its last saint when he passed away.
Jessie, before you think of suicide, just remember, the world does have people like Mr. Rogers alive today, but most of us just can't see it within ourselves to do the right thing.
Mr. Rogers was a decent, compassionate, and loving individual who deeply cared about children. He addressed important issues with them including death, divorce, handicapped individuals, racial matters, etc. in an honest and straightforward manner that they could understand in order to allay their fears. I definitely would love to see a revival of this show on PBS or any other station which I'm sure many other parents would agree we could use right now. For me and for those of you who remember his show, I believe that sometimes simple is better. Our children need the kind of caring and loving values that he espoused on his show every single day.
Mr Rogers has that hypnotic effect that he has on kids. They’d be under his spell in seconds. I must say he helped a lot of kids in terms of things like anger issues, knowing that you don’t have to be someone else to make you more cool or talented, being yourself, knowing that you’re special just the way you are, coping with the death of a family member or a pet, the list goes on.
Matthew Jimenez Especially at the fascism of our youth in the streets beating up people they don't even know. Loving others was his way. Not hate. Liberals need a heavy dose of watching Mr Rogers.
Nancy Rocks 😂😂😂Mr. you saying Roger’s views weren’t liberal?? Singling out a group of people like you just did is exactly what he warned against. Just be neighbors. Not condescending or rude
When I was little, my great grandparents used to take care of me during the day while my parents were at work and soon as I got there they would have breakfast ready for me and we'd watch Mr. Rogers. They've both passed now but I cherish those days I had with them. I'm not sure why but it's really hitting me hard now that all three of them have moved on. Side note: I grew up in the same Pittsburgh neighborhood he lived in and my uncle told me the story of how Mr. Rogers once had his car stolen, but once the people who stole it discovered it was his car, they returned it immediately.
Lydia Campbell I get the feels reading what you shared. I am so glad you got to grow up with Mr. Rogers like I did. I lived near Pittsburgh. I grew up in WV. Lived there for 24 years. Pittsburgh has always been one of my favorite places in the world. I loved shopping there bc of no sales tax and I think that the three rivers are so beautiful. The airport is still my favorite airport. I hope they still have those displays of Mr. Rogers memorabilia. I never was able to get a good picture of them.
I watched old episodes when I was 6 and this man gave me a reason to get up in the morning this man was my life and made me want to go places He’s the reason I’m here now I fucking love this man I miss him
Fahd Halim he was doing a show in the mid and late 60’s. One of the most trying times in American history. Oh I think he could handle it. In fact, I think if the kids today watched Mr Rogers, there would be a lot more authentic compassion going around than we see now.
Being human living in the present day, we are not ruined, but demoralized by social media... Do not forget this when you wake up to a fresh new day, why not make new positive choices?
This Man raised my Grandson, Great Grandson, and Great Great Grandson by them watching the Television Set, and he was 11 months older then my Son. I will forever respect this man not only because his words were true, but the fact that he spent most of his life making others feel better when they were sad, teaching the younger generations how to be nice and respectful, and just always doing good by other people. Although I was probably born a few years after his parents "1906" he still has made most people's lives better including myself.
There was a Fred Rogers stream on Twitch one day and my eleven year old son and I watched it all day. My eleven year old couldn't get enough of Mr. Rogers (and he has given up cartoons and "kids shows" as too little for him). He said that he liked that he was gentle and kind and that he talked to kids about things that they wanted to know about but that older people think they won't understand. Fred Rogers was a great man. And we do need someone like him now, someone who can speak to children about the tough stuff in a way that they can understand. One only needs to look at the current state of our country (the anger, the hate, the unforgiveness) to know that we need Mr Rogers.
That was part of what made him so incredible. He talked to kids about things that other adults didn't want to, and he didn't talk down to them. He used terms they could understand, but he never talked down to them. He respected them and he made them feel special. I'm glad I grew up as his neighbour.
This man made my childhood. I hate that he's gone. The fact that someone can be so kind, so pure, that millions of people cried on the day he died. The fact he loved everyone just as they were, brings tears to my eyes.
Those kids were truly mesmerized watching Mr. Rogers. Educational, heartfelt, morally uplifting segments at a pace children can absorb. Mr. Rogers was reality at it's best.
It makes sense. I think part of his motivation was to create Christian friendly television. He was always welcoming and and many ways embodied the best of Jesus's lessons
I think if Mister Rogers could see the cultural and political climate today, knowing that many people in each category grew up watching him, would feel that maybe he failed. He taught us to love and respect one another, but those values are nearly extinct today. He taught us to show kindness to each other, but today people are so quick to rush to anger. He taught us to open our hearts to each other, but two people sitting on a bus next to each other today are so engrossed in their phones, that they don't realize that a new friend might be sitting right next to them, if only they would acknowledge them and say hello. The attitudes we carry today, and the lack of love we have for each other now is an exact contradiction to what Mister Rogers taught our young minds so many years ago. I believe that with sadness, he would feel like he did his best to teach us good from bad, right from wrong, love from hate, and he might feel that he failed us. But that's not the way it is. WE failed him.
The world changed after his death, the housing market crashed, the big three car companies took huge bailouts, thousands of people lost their jobs in the recession that still grows to this day. And new families can't afford what their parents could. The world changed so while you see angry and turmoil, I see men and women fighting to create and preserve a better world for Americans
@Martin Kuhn...he impressed and changed the world because he had true Faith in God, not perverted religion, all our morality and manners have been stripped away from everyone for the rights of the few who were offended by being taught right and wrong...morals and to love non judgmentally...to allow one another to live and let live. For the rights of Madeline O'Hare those of us who believed were tossed aside. Don't get me wrong...I believe if you don't wish to believe, are Pagan, Wicca, Atheist other religions have at it! What is wrong with the 10 Commandments...learning right from wrong and the love found in 1 Corinthians 13!? It's simply divisive hate. It's done nothing but drive us apart. As the Good book says...A house divided can not stand...believe as you see fit but do so as NEIGHBORS! God bless.
The reason Mr. Rogers has failed was because his worldview was inherently flawed. He believed that all people are pretty much equal, and that we can all live together in peace, but this is not true at all. Different groups have different behavior and different interests pertaining to which direction the country should go, so naturally there is bound to be deep conflict and division in a multiracial, multicultural society where people share no common bond except the land they live on. Frankly, it's just common sense that Indians, Chinese, Ugandans, Irish, etc. are very different in many more ways than physical appearance, and that one society can not meet the need and desires of such radically different people.
I've never heard of him until an hour ago. And I'm tearing up about all the wonderful things he did and what he stood for. I'm quite sad I didn't get to see his show when I was a kid.
I'm only 13 my parents grew up to him and when I was little they would sometimes talk to us about mister Rogers and a few days ago my mom brought him up again... Who would be better to play Mr. Rogers than Tom Hanks?! I absolutely love Tom Hanks. I've never heard a negative word about him. And he is a absolutely amazing actor. Rest in Peace Mr. Rogers 🕯🙏🕊
Well, Jimmy Stewart if we had a time machine. Watch Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, then compare it to the video of Mr. Rogers speaking before the senate. The resemblance is uncanny. Current actors, though, I think Tom Hanks will do a good job.
I like Norton, but he could never pull off a convincing Mr. Rogers. He could manifest the most masterful acting of his career, but I just can't imagine being able to suspend my impression that the guy on screen is a bit of a dick. Physical resemblance should not be the first criterium when making casting decisions. You need a genuinely nice person to portray someone as profoundly wholesome as Fred Rogers. By all accounts, Tom Hanks does fit the bill.
I was born is 2003, not long after he passed away. I remember watching reruns of his show all the time when I was small and it taught me so much. I learned how to tie my shoes and about death and other topics like it that usually nobody teaches us about as young children. For that I am truly grateful.
I can honestly say that I, as a child (before the hundreds of channels available today... back when there was only 3, and I had to use the little wheel in the panel box to tune in PBS),, would eagerly tune in PBS every day and watch in awe and wonder as I learned through his insperational lessons and calm, soothing demeanor. At 47 years now....I STILL sit and watch in awe and wonder! Today's generation truly NEEDS Mr. Rogers.
Yes, Fred Rogers is MUCH needed today, he represents the innocence lost that is so often spoken of. I grew up on Mr. Rogers neighborhood in the 60's, a lost world we'll never see again, and he was very much an essential part of that world! God bless you, Mr. Rogers....YOU Rock!!!

I watch him now as an adult and can imagine what Christ was like in person.
Same here
Amen. He had a servants heart.
Frederick
Wonderfully put
I absolutely, wholeheartedly believe Mr. Rogers was the closest thing that Christ asked us to be. He was filled with the Holy Spirit all his days. May the Lord bless him.
That's the most statement I believe I've ever read.
@@it3897 no you are a narc/sociopath, you are depressed because you are evil. She may have no one in her life to talk to.
Hope you're doing better jessica 🤗🤗🤗
jessica, just remember JESUS loves you! im praying for you
Take care of you,
When those kids still relate to and like Mr. Rogers, still makes me cry.
Watched a couple Mr. Rogers videos and ugh I'm in tears. He was such a good person and I'm so glad I was able to be his neighbor.
I think we all who knew Mr. Rogers are glad that we could be his Neighbor
I thought he said foreign five year olds lol. He said four and five year olds.
It doesn't matter anyway I was a foreign kid growing up and really appreciated him and his messages
Oh... same
Lmao...me too
I kept thinking he said it until I read your comment.
Me yo
He is needed far more then ever his series was just started
Now that I have rediscovered Mr. Rogers, I STILL watch him, and I am an old man
If there's one person I wish would live forever, it would have been Fred Rogers.

And Bob Ross. 😖
So true...
What about Walt Disney or Michael Jackson?
1:15 If Mr Rogers was still alive he would be very upset about the world today
Matthew Jimenez he would be called a white supremacist sadly.
Raymundo11 Mr. Rogers is never upset.
OyImTheJoker My point was they don’t sexualize children. They have no higher rates of molesting children than straight people.
"does the US need Mr. Rogers more than ever?"
*US cuts PBS' funding*
"Oh"
So someone needs to fight for it like he did
We all could use Mister Rogers my dad said he was a great man and he still is up to this day
You do not get riches and fame in hollywood unless you sell your soul.
@@starlite556 uuuuuhhh.......no, you just need talent and connections. But whatever
I watched old episodes when I was 6 and this man gave me a reason to get up in the morning this man was my life and made me want to go places
He’s the reason I’m here now
I fucking love this man I miss him
If Mr. Rogers was alive, I don’t know if he could handle the way the world is headed now.
Fahd Halim He could because he’d see the good that’s still out there, and he’d fight for it.
well he doesn't need to, because if he was still here the world won't be like this
Fahd Halim he was doing a show in the mid and late 60’s. One of the most trying times in American history. Oh I think he could handle it. In fact, I think if the kids today watched Mr Rogers, there would be a lot more authentic compassion going around than we see now.
I'm sure he'd want HRC in prison.
Kelly Pagano well I grew up watching him. His land of make believe actually was made me realize in imagination
I miss mr Roger's he was like a grandpa to me 😭😭😭
Jason The Realest Venom Jordan AE Gaming ikr.

Dude... Those kids are freaking precious. Just proves my point, everyone loves Mr. Rogers. No matter what generation
🤦♀️
"I'll watch it until I get old."
I'll watch it even when I am old
Many, many people already have.
One of the most important Americans to ever live. One of the most important people to ever live. We need Mr.Rogers.
"It's a beautiful day in this neighborhood, it's beautiful day for a neighbor, won't u be mine."
OH GOD THAT SONG. Such a peaceful feeling.
Yes. Everyone is so nasty to everyone else now. The internet and social media has ruined us as human beings.
Yes I am starting to think that also😕
No people have always been this bad, it's just now you see it more
Exactly! Man you and I are smart! You wanna come over and we can watch friends, or...or play MW3 and eat pizza bites. I can ask my mom to pick you up
yeah especially in the comments. so many hateful things being said for absolutely no reason.
Imagine mr rogers and keanu reeves in the same room
The world would have peace
i knew from the start it was never gonna be me keanu to mr rogers “ NO YOUR BREATHTAKING “

This man made my childhood.
I hate that he's gone.
The fact that someone can be so kind, so pure, that millions of people cried on the day he died.
The fact he loved everyone just as they were, brings tears to my eyes.
God knew what he was doing … r.i.p. my favorite neighbor 😌🤞🏾
Best neighbor ever... Who break dances with the neighborhood's kids in the front lawn!!!
Those kids were truly mesmerized watching Mr. Rogers. Educational, heartfelt, morally uplifting segments at a pace children can absorb. Mr. Rogers was reality at it's best.
Of course we do. This world needs any and all positivity we can get our hands on. This world needs Fred Rogers.

He was the god
I could always see Jesus in Mr. Rogers.
Amy Mullins This isn’t wrong...like, at all ❤️❤️
Jesus spoke though Fred Rogers
Amen me too Hallelujah!
Amen
I'm not going to cry... :'(
@Martin Kuhn...he impressed and changed the world because he had true Faith in God, not perverted religion, all our morality and manners have been stripped away from everyone for the rights of the few who were offended by being taught right and wrong...morals and to love non judgmentally...to allow one another to live and let live. God bless.
@@sylviayoung1901
You're blaming non-believers for the state of the world?
The reason Mr. Rogers has failed was because his worldview was inherently flawed. He believed that all people are pretty much equal, and that we can all live together in peace, but this is not true at all. Different groups have different behavior and different interests pertaining to which direction the country should go, so naturally there is bound to be deep conflict and division in a multiracial, multicultural society where people share no common bond except the land they live on. Frankly, it's just common sense that Indians, Chinese, Ugandans, Irish, etc. are very different in many more ways than physical appearance, and that one society can not meet the need and desires of such radically different people.
Mister rogers was such a kind and innocent man that its kinda hard to imagine him doing anything inappropriate. Even though he has a son
Probably one of the best husbands and dads to ever exist.
some guy in jeans that last sentence makes me feel weird

Yep. Having children is really inappropriate, considering the self-loathing of the left which promotes abortions as a must-have human-right.

I'll be honest after watching the trailer to the movie I was to tears because I know we all are hurt we all need Mr Rogers
Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood should be rerun in syndication. You can see in this story that it still touches the audience he wanted to reach.
People need to be loving and caring like Mr rogers was.

Who would be better to play Mr. Rogers than Tom Hanks?!
I absolutely love Tom Hanks. I've never heard a negative word about him. And he is a absolutely amazing actor.
Rest in Peace Mr. Rogers
🕯🙏🕊
Well, Jimmy Stewart if we had a time machine. Watch Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, then compare it to the video of Mr. Rogers speaking before the senate. The resemblance is uncanny.
Current actors, though, I think Tom Hanks will do a good job.
Julian Birch I agree with you.
I absolutely adore Jimmy Stewart. I watch his movies often.
I'll have to look that one up and watch it.
TruthSeeker08 no!!!! Not tom hanks please... Edward Norton! Watch mr Rodgers senate speach and ypull see an uncanny resemblance
Google his fuck up wigger son...
I think you’re perfect just the way you are.
The best thing I’ve ever heard.
I miss this.
Man the world needs people like him so much right now
I can’t stop crying. He is missed so much. 😭
Rogers.
When i grow up I want my kids to watch Mr. Rogers. We need him now more than ever, and he was just so incredibly pure
Mr.Rogers was nothing but a guy filled with love and pureness. There will no one like him, he was my childhood idol and i will never forget him 😢💕
I’m not originally from North America and never really watched any episodes of the show, but the reactions of the people who watched and know him made me cry.. 😢❤️
