His notes are actually not as high as I always thought they were, he has a bright tone that just makes them sound higher if that makes sense. As a tenor he is immensely impressive though, singing that high in full chest or mix is immense talent. As a baritone I have hit F5 before and I can get a consistent D5 in falsetto down to a D2 in chest (B0 with growl/fry/subharmonics) , but I couldn't dream of going past a Bb4 belt. Kellin is a crazy talent.
Honestly, his notes are still extremely high since his comfortable area is around F4... He sings a lot around that note and above it. As a Baritone, even though I can get to most of his high notes with my speaking voice (Can't get to E5, F5 without falsetto, heh), if I tried to sing most of his songs exactly on pitch, my voice would be truly damaged. For a Tenor, he is a lyric Tenor with almost a female quality in his voice. He gets to C5 quite a lot, so it is extremely high. Almost like a male Contralto (not exactly a countertenor), and let's just say... His bright voice adds to it as well, as you said. But he is probably one of the most high pitched male voices out there (at least far as I know).
@@blivion7203the key is to find your chest voice try to learn with a note and higher and keep it up when you feel that you can get higher a tip ie to feminized your voice and if you wanna sing high notes try to open your mouth in down and smile is kinda hard first attempts but you will progress:> and yeah if Quinn is tenor you can't get so high as him if ur Baritone or even bass
@@alex_from_a_w_e_ Oh, well I do sing countertenor, actually (classically). And now apparently I can get to E5 without falsetto (wonder if I could get to F5 that way...). I still don't feel comfortable around his range without using falsetto sometimes. His voice is quite unique though, I suppose.
My dad says this sounds a boy singing like a teen high school girl...i said no dad its more like teen high school girls wish they could sing like kellin quinn
He actually hits some higher notes on other projects, like the Fuck You cover for example and even some songs on the first record, I may do a video showing those albuns at some point :)
Everyones different but i think 5th octave notes are where most men start to notice it getting more difficult f5 is the highest note I can hit without screaming lol
Zachary Williams bruh so Kellin really does have an insanely high voice. The only singers that can compare to with are Brendon Urie, Donovan Melero, Anthony Green, and Tilian Pearson
@@kevincontreras2224 I'd have to say its a tie between brendon and kellin lol it dont matter what notes you can hit because everyone sounds shitty sometimes man just takes practice and a good nights rest to hit any note ya want
Firstname Lastname it depends on what you describe as a countertenor. A countertenor is a role in opera. A male alto is the synonym for countertenors in contemporary singing. They share characteristics. A male alto or tenorino are basically the same thing, they’re just another kind of tenor.

He goes to F5 with mixed voice, I'd say it's pretty damn high for a man.

True 😂
You know why? It is because he sings using mix voice and low head voice. It is something being done on purpose, we study it for years.
@@user-fg7kk1kn6bokay but he does have a high/clean voice even when talking normally
Actually the F5 in let's cheer to this is the highest note recorded by Kellin, but live the highest I think is a D5

Awesome video. Just for context sake, at what note would you consider to be a high note for a male?

Male alto is not the same voice type as countertenor.
Tenorino is essentially a male alto.
