‘It’s ridiculous’: Tony Abbott calls out Albanese government’s nuclear stance

  • Opposition Leader Peter Dutton has “created a contest” with the Albanese Labor government over the practicality of nuclear and renewables, says former prime minister Tony Abbott.
“It’s the first time there has been a serious contest about energy and climate over the last decade,” Mr Abbott told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
“This idea we can’t do nuclear when at least 33 other countries do - it’s ridiculous.”

Is everyone forgetting that the shit this so called renewable crap is made from is not biodegradable? It's killing off our bushland and, like mentioned above, our ability to produce and, when it's spent, it'll just be buried along with other plastics. Not that I really give a shit, but their argument for renewables is so extremely weak, it's not even funny. Nobody with a green agenda cares, however, as they're either a brain dead imbecile or they're getting very, very rich from it.

The carbon dioxide emissions from fossil fuels have the net beneficial effects of greening of the planet with increased agricultural yields (main effect), reduced winter heating costs, fewer deaths from hypothermia and postponement of the next glacial maximum.
Net Zero is prohibitively costly,, impractical and totally unnecessary. It is economically destructive delusional insanity.
The result of weak and corrupt politicians allowing ridiculous and economically destructive popular delusions to triumph over critical thinking and common sense in the formulation of energy policy.
We need to simply withdraw from the Paris Accord and use the most economical energy resources available.

We should simply withdraw from the Paris Agreement and use the most economical energy resources available.
Worldwide, over 10 trillion dollars has already been spent on climate mitigation with little benefit to anyone except renewable energy companies and their shareholders.
We should simply use the most economical energy resources available.

Turncoat Turnbull should never be forgiven for what he did to the Liberal Party:
      - Deposed Abbott, who not only won in a landslide (which many forget) but arguably would have been the next Howard-esque PM. And what I've learnt, particularly over the last few years, is that Howard was a lot better for our country than many people realised. In doing so, he ruined their reputation (that Abbott had spent years campaigning for) that the Liberal's don't remove PM's. Which of course, after the Rudd-Gillard-Rudd years, was important. They really did never quite recover from that.
      - Took the party to the left, alienating their conservative base and doing things they would never have even considered doing years prior.
      - And then, when he was removed (which what I mentioned above contributed massively to), cried endlessly about it. Spent years afterwards trashing the Liberal's, including releasing a book right in the middle of COVID airing 'dirty laundry'.
Say what you want about Abbott, but one thing you've got to give him is he was loyal. Perhaps too loyal really, and loyal to the wrong people (Bishop, Hockey). And, he did what he said he'd do for the most part. Got rid of the carbon tax, and stopped the boats. Really, he started what Peter Dutton went on to do so well as Immigration Minister (which is why I want him to become PM). If only he'd got to remain PM, who knows how long he would have lasted, but it would have been interesting.
One thing he did that I always loved, was when he was giving his concession speech for Warringah and Zali Steggall was mentioned, people started booing. But instead of egging them on, Abbott told them to pipe down. I always thought that was really graceful.
Turnbull however, may be wealthy and intelligent but he lacks very much so in decency and human spirit. I watched that ABC special on the latest Liberal years, and apart from Abbott saying to Turnbull in the party room 'well Malcolm, you should have let me finish my Prime Ministership' (after Turnbull had asked him if he'd let him finish his sentence), there was one other bit I thought was really fitting. Warren Entsch was the 43rd signature on the ballot paper to depose Turnbull, and next to his signature he wrote 'for Brendan Nelson' (who Turnbull had deposed to become leader originally). That, I thought, just really summed it all up.

wind and solar are not free, they are very expensive when you have to pay for windmills and solar panels and a brand new grid network to connect it all. Then you have to replace it all every 15 years. Then you factor in the damage to the environment by putting this gear in all of these beautiful country areas and prime agricultural lands. Then you have the trillions of dollars putting all this together, only to have to replace it just as you finish the project in 2050 Then you have the landfill of all of these panels and mills and all the CO2 caused by china manufacturing new ones.
Or just have a few nuclear power plants wired into the grid at sites of old power stations. Nuclear is the cheapest and best option.

To start with Fukushima what lessons .. that was an Earthquake Tsunami event if you know anything about Japan you'd know that they have the most advanced Building Codes designed for Earthquakes and Tsunami's the only lesson in that area in the Cooling Pump Power generator never to be built behind the Sea Wall no one died of radiation poisoning 22,000 people were drowned , swept out to sea .. Japan’s Nuclear Plants all still operating and Germany well lets see ..They Import Nuclear Power from France plus now they are also restarting Coal Fired Power Stations
Switzerland Nuclear supplies 35% 2 more large scale Plants are Planned also 60% Hydro Power and 5% from Wind Solar and Bio Mass (Burning Trees ) I also suggest you do more research on Renewables they are not as Clean or Green as promoted

    • @johngeier8692
