- Shadow Attorney-General Michaelia Cash has blasted the “disaster” which is the Albanese Labor government’s energy policies.
“Chris Bowen is being shown to be both a coward and a conman,” she told Sky News host Steve Price.
“Under Chris Bowen and Mr Albanese, Australians need to understand, you are heading to energy poverty.”

All politicians should be held accountable for their bad ideas and at a minimum have their pensions/benefits removed. They should jailed if they are criminal.
Politicians don't know. They have policy and ideology they follow but the public service run the show. Unlike the States we do not change the administration of public service management but change our heads of departments and department secrataries.
We would have better representation if the people could enforce the grubs to be held accountable for their deluded decisions.
That would be in an ideal world but you can bet for every 100 laws passed against the Australian public per year they wouldn't put one in to make themselves accountable and that is the problem there is no laws that apply so technically they are not breaking them.

Correct we have world-class uranium, natural gas and thermal coal assets - we have significant sun days, yet we have squandered this for shoddy batteries, panels and wind turbines from China - whilst China continues to build enormous numbers and amounts of coal fired generation. Absolute lunacy form the ALP. For the record in China, 47.4GW of coal power capacity came online in 2023. This increase accounted for two-thirds of the global rise in operating coal power capacity, which climbed 2% to 2,130GW. China's 70.2GW of construction that was underway in 2023 represents 19-times more than the rest of the world's 3.7GW. Ignorant government chasing irrelevant targets.

As a a Victorian I can say my electric bill was well in excess of a thousand bucks, car registration up from last year , gas also up , house rates up 35% from last year, I can’t remember the water bill , but why would it be any different !
Let’s not forget food , and for those people renting, it’s a fortune too , and let’s not forget the homeless , and the 11000 + businesses that have gone bust in the last year , and more are going under every day.
And let’s not forget the ongoing immigration saga .

The planet is warming rapidly due anthropogenic CO2 emissions, far too rapidly. We have to stop this uncontrolled experiment on the planet's Climate.
The climate does actually change. The last ice age was different to now for example but mankind didn't cause the changes. Not then, not now. And yes, I agree, we should be building modern coal-fired HELE (High Efficiency Low Emissions) power plants and using our plentiful coal.

I am surprised it has taken so long for some people to wake up to what swindle farms are doing to our landscape including farming land. Most of those in the city living in their beach front mansions wouldn't have a clue to what's happening in the country areas. Most of them probably have shares in these swindle farms. Has anyone seen the size of each footing filled with concrete and steel that is needed for each of these turbines. Well multi ply that by tens of thousands. Not to mention the tens of thousands of trees needed to be removed. Environmental vandalism. We all need to be protesting against the destruction of our landscape.
