    Three subscribers jumped ship, in the first day of this video, I really don't know what people want. I'm pleased with the positive comments I already had from good supporters so must be doing something right.

      Subscribers come, subscribers go. It is impossible to tell why unless they leave a comment, so there is no point in getting bothered by it. We had three go the other day, but then five more turned up yesterday 😀

      @@SailingYachtSaltyLass I got a feeling it was because I said there would be no more video on work to the boat but I have noticed some go when I put a new one out before. I can only guess. I don't think I'd want them as shipmates, they'd desert at the slightest bit of bother. Some channels do well with boat work but it's not for me.

    Good to see the progress - looking very smart. It's been a bit too hot at times but the dry summer was perfect to get the outside done. Look forward to the launch.

      That was the bulk of the work done, it just took longer than I thought. Lots of small jobs now. I look forward to launch day too!

    Mike, it’s amazing. Sometimes being so close to it you lose the sense of progress but for us watching it’s incredible the progress you have made mate. Well done and keep the updates coming. Good man.

      Thanks, she would float and looks presentable. I'm still busy on the smaller jobs and doing work like varnishing that's not good to do in cold weather. I've missed the sailing this year which is a pity.

    Well done Mike, you put some graft in on her! Look forward to seeing you sailing her next year.

      Yes, a lot of graft, it would be nice to think I will get the same amount of hours back on a cruise. I hope so.

      Thanks James, she will look good on the water with the black sails pulling me along somewhere far I hope.

    Hi Mike. I can only marvel at your skills and ingenuity. You've done some brilliant work on the boat and she's looking very nice indeed. Roll on next season when I'm sure you will be eager to get her sailing again. All the best

      Thank you Mark, It was a slow job and I'm still busy doing smaller jobs, my estimate of a June launch was very opttimistic. I'd never make a living doing any boat work, I'm too slow. I'll be heading North next year all being well, be good to find your boat in some anchorage there.

      It would indeed Mike. Haven’t decided on next year’s trip yet but we will be on the boat again in September for a more local trip before the end of the season. Already got a long list of improvements before next season. It’s going to be a busy winter! Cheers

      Thank you Simon, I'm pleased with how the work's gone, just some smaller jobs now but too late for sailing, I'd hoped to be finished by June ha ha.

      Thank you, nearly two years now and she's finished with a new autopilot and solar panel to feed it. I've been preparing for a test sail but things keep delaying me. There will be some sailing videos on her and maybe a tour of the finished boat. I bought a Sadler 32 as a short term holiday boat and did have a nice holiday but this has now given added work and trying to sell.

      She would float now, ha ha. She is dry now, at least the rain water leaks fixed and am working on the damaged ply in the port aft cabin caused by the rainwater. There's lots of jobs like that left to do plus the rig, be ready for sailing soon, just need another summer.

      @@SailingYachtSaltyLass Different this year , early summer there's usually a high and settled weather, often NE wind, not so in 22 though. Last year was a flop for my sailing, timing all wrong. We all live in hope.

    Cooper coat looks great. Did you use 2 times the cooper than your last boat?
    Thank you

    • @mjcooke2sailingmostly
      @mjcooke2sailingmostly  3 месяца назад +1

      I used the Coppercoat branded standard rather than my own. It's 2kg copper to 1litre epoxy if I remember correctly. They supply the maximum copper allowed by environmental regulations. I didn't abrade the surface as they recommend apart from the bits I did after where the cradle supports were. It will be interesting to see the difference after haul out.

      Is the product cuprous oxide or copper oxide. Not sure if i can purchase in the USA.
      Thank you

    • @mjcooke2sailingmostly
      @mjcooke2sailingmostly  3 месяца назад

      @@redwood1957 I know Coppercoat have suppliers in USA as I recently watched Sailing Artha doing a boat in DR supplied from USA. Doing the Westerly Fulmar, I bought copper separately from a GRP supplier and added to Gelshield. It would be pure copper (Cu), not oxide. Don't confuse with products advertised on ebay for decorative use.
