I used a tear away stabilizer on a t shirt that washes away, the design buckled once the stabilizer dissolved. Maybe I need to use two like you suggested.
I have a brother 6 needle machine (Brother PR655 to be exact) they have a newer model now... but I have had it since 2014 and it has been so wonderful! Thank you so much Louise!
I just discovered your channel today. I just got my machine on the 26th of March. I have not made anything yet since I have never embroidered. I appreciate this video. I have been so confused about stabilizers. I am wondering if you could add the information about using the hoop and frame along with how you layer each type of stabilizer. Again, I appreciated your video.
Hey Beverly!! Congrats on your new embroidery machine!! What type of things are you planning on embroidering? And that is a great video idea that could help a lot of people, so I will try and get that done soon!!
No Show Polymesh cutaway stabilizer! And some people like regular cutaway stabilizer! I would not recommend fusible stabilizer or sticky stabilizer for fleece crewnecks because it will peel the fleece off when you trim up extra stabilizer! Hope this helps!
Hey Ashley, thanks for your videos. While watching your videos, I sit with my digital notebook and take notes. I feel like I am sitting in a classroom. I am wondering, can you do a video on different types of thread? I know you briefly mentioned it in the 'Supplies' video however, it would helpful to learn if and/or what type of thread to use for various projects. For instance, are there different thread materials and weights used? Thanks.
Thank you so much for your kind words!!!! I am no expert on threads! I do know there is a difference when you buy cheap thread and quality thread which allows for much less breakage and a better stitch out! Here are two of the most popular brands of embroidery thread which are well known for their quality! www.madeirausa.com/ www.ra-embroidery.com/ All of my threads are 100% polyester embroidery thread and most I get in 5500 Yard cones ! Hope this helps!
Enjoyed your video. I'm getting ready to begin machine embroidery, just waiting on my machine. Have subscribed to your videos. Very easy to follow.. May I ask what color you have your quilting room painted? I love the color.
Thanks Darlene!! You will love embroidery! My room I film in now is Copen Blue from Sherwin Williams .www.sherwin-williams.com/homeowners/color/find-and-explore-colors/paint-colors-by-family/SW0068-copen-blue
Can you give a suggestion on how to remove the sticky back stabilizer from a design? I used it for the first time on a hand towel and had a difficult time getting it out of the small areas. Thanks, Becky
I need some help. i sew children's cloths i don't always put embroidery and this is because i am new in the stabilizer world. Baby fabric i usually use is soft and sometimes thin an light weight. So what do you recommend. if I'm understanding correctly use mesh and a tear way. I would like to put embroidery on round yoke that is interfaced with a gathered waist.
Hey Ashley. Thanks for the informative video. I've been trying to figure this out for sometime now. Can you embroider directly onto a cut away stabilizer and use iron on to fuse it onto the fabric?. Thanks in advance!
Hello. I want to try no show fusible mesh. I got confused on your layering. It sounded like from top down. Shirt, sticky stabilizer, no show mesh stabilizer then tear away stabilizer. Do you take off all tear away when done?
I have never done a felt patch BUT go check out @krauseKreations here on youtube!! She is amazing and does tons of patches! ruclips.net/user/ShaynaKrause
Thanks for your question Heather!! I have been working on some new videos to break down the exact steps but in the mean time here is what I do. * I iron the fusible mesh to the back of my shirt * hoop or apply my shirt to a fast frame (I use sticky stabilizer on my fast frame)* then put the shirt on my machine * then I put a sheet of tearaway sandwiched in between the shirt back and the plate of my embroidery machine! I know it is kind of hard to explain but hopefully this helps until I can get these new videos edited and posted!! Thanks again for your question!
Yes !! So glad you figured it out!! I would saw if you are ever having problems check the needle, bobbin, stabilizer, or sometimes I just have to rethread my machine!!! You've got this!!
Thank you much for this walkthrough. I’m an embroidery newbie and have been totally lost on how to pick stabilizers. This really helped!!
I used a tear away stabilizer on a t shirt that washes away, the design buckled once the stabilizer dissolved. Maybe I need to use two like you suggested.
Hi, can you talk about which side goes on the material? It seems that the basic tear away stabilizer has one softer sides.....does it matter
Ashley, what type of embroidery machine do you have?
Thank you so much for info on products to make a successful business.

Ashley ... what stabilizer would you recommend to use if you were monograming a handkerchief?
Can I ask what type of stabilizer you use for making bookmarks & ornaments? The sticky one just gums up my needles is there a secret to that??
Hi there, I did not see a link listed for the "no show" You shared about 7 different ones but there are 6 links listed. Thanks!
hello I have a question I watch your content from your experience what type of stabilizer do you use for your fleece crewneck ?
No Show Polymesh cutaway stabilizer! And some people like regular cutaway stabilizer! I would not recommend fusible stabilizer or sticky stabilizer for fleece crewnecks because it will peel the fleece off when you trim up extra stabilizer! Hope this helps!
I just discovered your channel today and really appreciate you sharing all of your tips and what you have learned through the years, very helpful!
Yay!! I am so glad it has been helpful!! Thanks for your sweet comment!
Hello I just saw this video what stabilizer would you use for lace embroidery or flower lace ?

Um you mean like a patch? They make special stabilizer for patches and it will fuse right to the fabric!
on the tear away do you put the shinny side or rough side against the material.. Or is it different on each side I can't tell

Is cut away better for a body suits, t shirts and pants/sweats in polyester an mixed with 28 percent spandex ?
Wondering the same
I can't wait to see more of your videos!
I know it's pretty randomly asking but does anyone know a good place to stream newly released tv shows online?
@Kace Kristian lately I have been using Flixzone. Just search on google for it =)
I've wanted to try no show mesh, but I was afraid that it wasn't stiff enough. The cut away is so bulky.
Can you show how you layer tear away and the mesh?

Yes and Yes
What is a blank?
What do you mean when you say you use your fingers to remove the WSS? I used it for the first time and there are still pieces.
Why would my machine be breaking my stabilizer?
Hmm you mean making holes?? What do you mean?
@@TheMonogramMompreneur I think I found out my problem. I was using the wrong stabilizer 🤦♀️ There is so much to learn for a newbie
Yes !! So glad you figured it out!! I would saw if you are ever having problems check the needle, bobbin, stabilizer, or sometimes I just have to rethread my machine!!! You've got this!!
Does sticky stabilizer wash away once you launder the shirt or whatever it is you used it on?
I have messed up more projects than had successful... And it's all because of not having the right stabilizer.
