    They must have GFTO sound boards in storage, given some of YESSHOWS comes from this tour. How a sound board from this tour has never leaked astonishes me.

    Saw Toronto May 1978, 17 years old, great show but no GFTO or Topographic, my two faves at the time. But they did play the entire CTTE in one set. Also solo features for all! Saw this lineup again early 2000s where they did feature Revealing Science Of God and played Awaken, as well as playing South Side Of The Sky for the first time on tour. Anderson thanked the fans for their support which allowed them to continue performing material like TFTO.

      Saw them at the old Boston Garden on this tour. The group always appreciated the rabid Boston crazies but this show was extra special from the opening Parallels to Roundabout. Thanks for including the Garden version on Awakening, will never forget hearing that or the long standing ovation after the group played it.

    Thanks for uploading and sharing these gems, man!
    Having the video would have been nice, but that's ok, great to stream it in my car.
    Recording video wasn't as easy to do back in the day unless it was an official commercial recording but the sound- not bad at all! The big generator tour is really good!
    Do you have the talk your as well?
    Since the first Yes tour I saw in 1974, tales from topographic oceans - is seen every Yes tour up until 2011- fly from here . Drama was the only tour I missed and I was. Immediate about that. At least Trevor Horn didn't try sounding like Jon Anderson and he was perfect for doing that album live. When I saw fly fro. Here, I got free tickets. Benoit David wasn't bad, and the album was ok, a sequel to drama. But Styx was the opening band. The first time I saw them, for pieces of eight, I was bored. But that tour- Me and my friends agreed, they blew Yes off the stage.
    And I have no desire to see Jon Davidson- that real cover band-
    But I did see ARW on their first tour- awesome. Hope they finally perform that yet to hear new material, and finally do shoot high, more tunes from Talk and other songs that they have rarely performed.
    Guarantee you I will not be disappointed if they don't perform all good people, or roundabout.
    I can even do without owner of a lonely heart - just to hear other tunes. Glad they did I am waiting this tour, other than that it was the same as the first tour I hear.
    Now, I am waiting- to hear new material and other tracks from their awesome catalogue!

    Steve Howe was untouchable from 1972 - 78. Most versatile guitarist in the world. A master of so many styles who played over 13 different guitars at every live show...and then a kid named Eddie came along and the old six string genius was left in the dust of a finger tapping shredder who ran with the Devil.

    • @Examigan
      @Examigan Год назад +7

      About Eddie, left him in the dust? No. And you're comparing apples and oranges. Howe will always be great and is a legend.

      Eddie was all about speed nothing more. He may have been very talented but he was part of the popular American hard rock guitarists. In no way did he leave Steve in the dust or in no,way was he ever better than Steve as a guitarist or a writer of compositions. This comment is laughable

    • @stuartwaby3081
      @stuartwaby3081 10 месяцев назад +4

      Eddie admitted that he nicked his fa
      med style from the great Steve Hackett, he never came close to any of the European Guitarist's.

    Why are there no soundboards or radio broadcasts from the GFTO tour? There were several from the Tormato tour and even Relayer. These are pretty decent audience recordings, but I'd pay good money for a professionally recorded, complete GFTO show.

    Listening with great enthusiasm. Steve Howe is a great guitar player....but on Close to the Edge i think, in my opinion, he's often overdoing his guitar parts, making the exeprience less...enjoyable.
