- This is my second round here at Pyrford Lakes Golf Club where it is hosting a porfessional golf tournament. In Round 1 unfortunately I did not get much go my way and this resulted in a score of +2.
Looking for a fast start here in Round number 2 but Pyrford Lakes is not a course where you can go wrong! Water appears on almost every hole and it is so tough to avoid it when the wind is blowing 30MPH!

Hope you enjoyed the course Josh. I’m a member at Pyrford, and it plays so different from Summer to Winter. I agree, it can be very tough when the wind picks up, especially on 9, 11, and 13 where you’re sometimes hitting 2 clubs extra into the greens.
You know the lad is a good player just based on the fact he twirls his clubs before he even takes his shot 😂

Pyrford is very tricky in the wind, I'd say there's a big advantage there if you've played it a lot. Considering the water penalties - pretty good outcome in those conditions.

It isn't that deep either. They both produce great stuff and both easy to support

I used to be a member there before moving, the course is nails the first few times you play it but becomes relatively easy once you know it well

Josh, Did you have hunches and feels you were going to hit into water before and while playing the shot? What do you put it down to, when it happens so much it seems more of a pattern than just bad luck.

The par 5s are probably the hardest part of this course, you can’t hit a shot further than 280 without being in danger/water
Would you have used the iron off the tee as much if the driver was behaving, it is that sort of course

@@joshoddy my course is like that, I use driver maybe 3 times, you can be brave but if you are slightly wayward you're in trouble.
So -14 if no water on the course? Good effort

Water, water everywhere and not a drop to drink. But the water will swallow your ball and spit out a lower score. Chin up, I would have made a muck of that course. And I would have shot much higher than you.

+6 handicap shoots 74-72 on a glorified executive course with a rating of 70.4 and slope of 133. Hmmm...
