Man, this coach was so absolutely spot on. His point is golden, he's saying you are so athletic that you are basically contorting your body to make a decent golf shot. If you could get in good position and not have to do all those tricks, you would unlock so much more skill and precision.

@scottfawcett3290 if you were going to assess a guy with Tom Broders' athleticism, what would you say his potential is? Obviously he has tour level length, but his mental approach seems flawed. (We love Bubs, so this isn't criticism) He seems to putt well, just needs more time on the practice greens. (Probably) Would he be better off easing his iron swings down one club length? It's OK to use a 9 iron from 150 rather than p wedge or gap wedge. Thanks, Scott

lol this is the excuse I give myself. I played baseball through college also. Haha so I like to say I'm too athletic for this game. I can try all these different matchups and they all work for a certain period of time. I just can't tell which one is the most consistent and most comfortable and most repeatable for me. I'm just so used to reaction sports. I told my buddy who is a golf coach that if I can't get to scratch myself, that maybe I'll go around touring the country imitating other well known golfers swings. 😂

4:58 "So, if I was hitting an 8 iron, this is about my 190 club". Said as casual as a mighty good man could. Scott's laughter pretty much says it all. Seriously, Bubbie, I hope you go after it and realize your gifting for this game.

Scott. Similar handicap to bubbie but not as long.
For block practice on a range with 80 balls, what would you say is the point of diminishing returns for a single club? Ie 10, 15, 20 shots and then switch?
If you’re limited on range time per week do you try and practice the whole bag or do you focus on specific clubs that are struggles?

for the short chip shot drill do you have any suggestions to alter it? for instance at the range that i practice at, im hitting off mats and i can't really pace into the range 5 yard increments since theres people to the left and right of me hitting balls. also would hitting chips off of a mat be beneficial? i could perhaps find a random field and pace off, but then im practicing out of rough grass (so perhaps wouldn't mimic conditions i face on the course when i'm around the green?)

That swing at 16:19 was reeeally crisp. My biggest swing flaw is being off balance towards the ball in my downswing 'cause I tend to stand up taller at the top and lose my stability around impact. My swing coach always told me to imagine having my butt against a wall for the entire duration of the back-swing. I still struggle and still have that as my main swing thought, 10 years later.
Bubbie's back swing: Right up against that wall. Flawless.

The “one” shape driver swing is really big when you want to lower your score. It reduces indecision on the tee box and allows one to swing with more confidence. I had/have this issue, and is the main reason a put a 13.5° mini driver in the bag, because I can constantly and confidently turn the ball in the opposite direction of my driver and not lose too much distance.

Hi Bubbie. .. seeing as you are working on your setup/alignment/ball position, with being aligned parallel to your target...and wanting to hit the ball straighter... There is one other element... and that is the golf club itself. It also has to be swung to match all that parallel alignment with your setup, to hit straight shots.
So here's the thing... ***Whenever the clubshaft is level to the ground.. it should be parallel to your target line.*** This orientation of the shaft will happen 5 times during the golf swing.
This will produce an "On Plane" swing, and that plane is also aligned parallel with your target line.
This is how to produce a zero'd clubhead path, and shots will have a straight ball flight, and straight to your target.
That's all.. It's really that simple. Cheers from Canada.

    • @christiannelson3416
      @christiannelson3416 4 месяца назад

this is not even remotely what an on plane swing means. If you want a 0 path the only time the club NEEDS to be parallel to the target line is at impact.

@@christiannelson3416 Not going to argue with you, firstly because you don't even understand what I wrote, and secondly, I'm a certified golf coach, with 22 years experience teaching. My students all succeed hitting the ball straight and at their target. They do this because they learn how to use the tool (golfclub) correctly to achieve that. They all swing their own swings, but they now work the tool correctly and get the desired result... straight shots at their target. CONSISTENTLY. They then become competent golfers... and then if they desire to get better yet... We work on their body motions in more detail, retaining all the principles of working the tool correctly, to reach the next levels,. That said, maroochy...Good day and Cheers.

I pretty much always keep my ball in the same spot with my irons. The only change I make is how wide my feet are. For me it’s a club head inside my left foot. Since my armpit is the low point of my swing, naturally I’m gonna hit down on the ball and then the ground. Just simplify ball setup for my irons. Maybe it’s right, maybe it’s wrong, but it works for me, and I tend to hit my irons very straight

He's improving back to straight, had 50 yards to correct. I saw him hit a great fade in one of the recent videos, so he can do it.

He always name drops Zalatoris and DeChambeau in every video lol. It’s a good resume don’t get me wrong , but true golf fans know already who you are and your one of the best in the biz , you don’t need to name drop anymore Scott
