What a brilliant, honest and comprehensive review. I hope Bailey and other manufacturers listen to your valid comments and take heed. Indeed I hope other manufactures give you both the opportunity to review other motorhomes because they and others would benefit from your input.
I was very interested in your comments on the 69 4 Bailey Adamo. As you said it's a well thought out space to live, the drop down bed is very good and comfortable and the living area is also comfortable. We purchased our Adamo in April 2021 however we have had nothing but problems with it. During collection from the dealership we noticed a broken seatbelt holder which had to be replaced before we could drive the motorhome away. Also on day one when putting stuff into the garage ,the garage door dropped out of the framework. This was put right by Lowdhams off Huddersfield very swiftly . From that point on we have had the following problems. Decorative panels on the outside behind the cab popping out and creating a lot of wind noise. Habitat door frame put on twisted resulting in having to kick the door open. .Plastic trim on kitchen unit melting when the heating was on, then set twisted when cooled . Bathroom floor developing a squeak and sagging slightly when you put you wight on it, due to not being screwed in correctly Drop down bed not dropping down then impossible to drop manually with the tool provided by Bailey. Spring loaded hinges breaking on the kitchen drop down work surface. On the drivers side garage door there is not a rubber seal which should have been fitted during manufacture and we are still waiting for this to be sent. One broken plastic fastening catch which holds down the overhead skylight which results in getting a whistling noise in the cab over the speed of 50 mph. The grill melting the cooker knobs because the extractor fan was fitted incorrectly on the cooker and blow into the habitat area and not out. Outside stick on reflectors dropping off, luckily this happened when stationery so could be retrieved. All the above are covered under our warranty, but the issue is that getting the replacements parts is wilfully slow by Bailey's and many of our issues are now 15 months old and once again the date for the delivery of the replacement parts has been moved on. On the plus side the Ford Transit chassis is an excellent choice and the motorhome is easy to drive over long distances. I would recommend others to consider other motorhome manufacturers who do a similar configuration due to the poor build quality we have experienced, .
Those dear dogs, had me in stitches with the garage door!!!! So sweet. I think Bob will find it hard going back to a manual gearbox!!!! Thank you and take care.
Hi both Great content and review and its been really useful. We have just ordered the Adamo 60-4 from the NEC motorhome show and take delivery mid March 24, so although this review is for the 69-4 alot of the content will be applicable to our model and we believe Bailey have made improvements over the part year or so, such as cab blinds etc. I personally am so pleased with your comments around the cab and driving experience and also the lounge set up and where this will be a little smaller for us, but with the same features and the game changer for us being the drop down bed. Keep up the great content, always happy to view what you are up to.
Great honest review Bob, our bathroom sliding door was one of the things that was ok. I fitted pipe work to outside waste so that you could access it from the side. Solved poor drainage from shower by drilling top of waste tank and fitting a breather pipe to the outside. It’s a great design but let down by some very poor workmanship, the dealer service was awful that’s why I had to do modifications myself not what is acceptable on a now new priced £66000 Motorhome. Also had whistling sunroof over 60mph, fixed that with spacers under catches.Thank you for your honest opinion on the Motorhome.
Thank you Bob and Jenny for your honest review. Being has I have mobility problems, I had to fix a pipe to the waste as I couldn't crawl underneath, which worked out great. Also the reversing monitor my dealer raised it, so I can see when driving along. The sliding door into the garage now as a fastner when you travel. The sliding door to bathroom, has not been a problem so far. Like you I wish they had blinds instead of curtains, but I think it was because of the black box in the middle of windscreen that they couldn't be fitted. Really helped with review of cab instrument panel, I didn't know how to access many of the items. Thanks again for such an informative review
What a great and honest review, Thank you both (including Poppy). We purchased an Adamo back in August 2021, (still waiting for the build to complete, hopefully Feb/March possibly who knows), not owning a motorhome before, but have had caravans, tents, campervan (VW) and a folding camper, so we did have a check list what we both wanted. I have to say, your review and how honest you both were, just made us feel more confident on our original decision to purchase one, as once we sighed on that dotted line and committed, it has been sort of a roller coaster of a ride, not only waiting (feels like an eternity) for it to arrive, but have we made that right choice, its a lot of money to spend if it is wrong. but thanks to you both, I can certainly say with a sigh of relief that we have made the correct choice. Thank you again.
Great video Bob - when I retire in a few years time and trade in my touring caravan this is exactly the sort of motorhome I would look to buy. Its great to see a nice large washroom where, as a well built person, I wouldn't feel like I was squeezing myself in. Love the look of the drop down bed too. Thanks for a really informative insight into the Adamo
Wonderful, honest review, I agree, the waste water is ridiculous but easily fixed! The sticking door was probably, as you said, just a glitch because the motorhome had been standing around, I think someone has said that they have no trouble with theirs! That lounge is amazing, if you had arrived on a site and just wanted to chill for a day or two and the weather was a bit inclement, you certainly wouldn't feel cramped! I have noticed that when you have been driving this motorhome, Bob, you have been grinning a lot!! I hope more companies ask you and Jenny to review more in the future! Well done!
Great review, nice to see you and Jenny had an overall good experience and there would always be issues with any van new or old . It’s all the joys of motoring. 👍🏻
Having owned a 75-4i for 8 months and used it extensively, I thought it was a very fair and spookily accurate review. We are very happy with our van but our points for improvement (other than the curtains and waste access mentioned many times) are: 1) fresh water gauge is worse than useless, esp as it tripped out the pump at 0% (now overidden as Bob has done) even if it is 1/3 full visually - it has been in for repairs, had a new sensor, been recalibrated but it is still, very inaccurate. I now fill it “by eye” using the blue inspection screw cap, and monitor useage “by eye” 2) Bizzarely, all,our bedroom window blinds are very stiff too!!!! Booked in as a warranty issue……. 3) Our bedroom door is a fixed panel door (not a flexi screen) but is also very hard to slide back & forth………. I would still buy another one though. Dave
Hello to all .My name is Heather and I live in Dumfries and Galloway. I am a widow and can no longer get out and about.I have just discovered your program and have so enjoyed your video of my local area .Thank you so much for expanding my views of the rest of the country, and making my days pass so quickly. I wish you both well and your lovely dogs.Keep up the great work and take care. 👍 Kind regards ✨
Great review from you both. Going on the pros and cons you discussed I would happily swap my Pegaso 590 for the Adamo for three main reasons, the driving experience, the drop down bed; I have to use a ladder to get into mine; and the toilet it's way too high, my feet are left dangling so I need a stool to aid laying a stool.......sorry TMI 👍🖖🏴🏴🏴
Great video Bob & Jenny , a very fair unbiased view. I agree with you the modern auto gearbox is a very welcome addition to any MH. We have a new Fiat Ducato fitted with the latest auto box and we love it . It really does make driving a pleasure . Great review guys. Thank you .
Bob & Jenny a great honest review, Bailey should be commended for allowing you to use it and review it, so well done Bailey. More manufactures should allow experienced motorhomers such as yourselves to loan and use their motorhomes so that perspective buyers can see them being used and make their own minds up as to whether it's right for their needs? I think we could all find something we don't like with our motorhomes if we are being honest? It is a veritable minefield out their with such a varied choice of motorhomes! Thank you for the videos of the Adamo.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo No I don't suppose they do & there is always the chance that it could go badly wrong and backfire on them but advertising definitely helps!
Thanks for the honest review Bob & Jenny, we have the Autograph 2020 model and we have had a lot of issues that are hopefully now resolved, we still have an issue with water levels, could you advise what Bailey advised you with the settings ? Kind regards Craig & Julie
They sent some instructions for adjusting the settings on water levels, but it didn't help. Think it's more to do with the sensors themselves. Your dealer should be able to check the settings for you.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo thanks Bob, our dealer is unfortunately 3 hours drive away from where we live, as you can imagine it’s a bit of a pain when we have to take it in for warranty work with a 6 hour round trip 😳
Thanks very much both for your helpful review. We have an Autotrail which is over 3.5t, so beginning to look around at a poss change in around 18months before i hit 70 (or go through the medical). Really like the Adamo lounge, giving the flexibility of travel seats only when you need them (we have 2 perm belted seats, which do ‘cramp’ the lounge. Bailey definitely need remis blinds in the Adamo and sorting the waste outlet. Are you saying that it’s not possible to fit a towbar at all or that Ford don’t currently do one? We have a fixed island bed which is great but does take up space and we fancy the drop down bed which gives the ‘Swiss army knife’ flexibility along with the occasional travel seats. Ask Bailey if you can borrow the slightly bigger dual lounge version to review too please!!!
Pretty much in line with our own experiences thus far. Good comprehensive review, thank you. On the tambour door issue ours too was stiff. Applied some silicon grease to the track top and bottom, now runs smoothly although the door now slams back and forth as we round the slightest of bend. Needs a means of keeping it open or closed, the mag strip really not strong enough. I thought the drop down bed would involve some nighttime gymnastics (no not those sort!) to use the loo, developed a form of the Fosbury flop (not a euphemism).
Hi Bob and Jen Great review This is one of the vans on our list to look at so it’s been great to get a very detailed view on usability and the practical stuff like storage cooking the fit and finish etc so yes I hope that production version has your feedback in it
Good honest review, this Motorhome looks very user friendly and comfortable for living space and driving experience. Poppy and Tara seemed to adapt welk to their new surroundings too. Thanks for sharing 👍
Thank you for getting back to me, been in touch with our dealer don't know where tool goes to manually drop the bed,and are going to see if they can see if they can solve the problem with the tamber door opening when traveling,Also phoned Bailey said will get back to us next week
Hi, Great review, we were going to buy the 754DL, but the clincher for us was the 300Kg payload, with 4 adults there was no payload left for actual luggage, food, toilet rolls etc. The Adamo is an impressive beast, and hopefully the v2 will remedy the issues you identified. Too late for us, we ended up getting a Burstner Lyseo 744. Keep up the good work.
Hi Bob & Jenny. Can you please tell me the differences between the Bailey Adamo 694 and the Swift Voyager 540? You were critical of some of the quality control in the Adamo, while others seem to be pleased with the Swift finish. I hadn’t considered a van like this until I saw your review.
For us, it's the Ford Automatic as standard and more feeling of space. on the Adamo that wins us over. To be fair to the 540, we haven't spent two weeks in it!
Having been thinking of the adamo 60-4 for its compact size as new MHs, after your review of the 69-4 we test drove one. It was fabulous, so easy to drive and much more storage. Almost ready to sign up! Thank you to you and Jenny for all the work you put into these videos, it must take up so much time and energy. Just know that it is very much appreciated. My OH even suggested swapping our dachshund for a Poppy 😮 step too far!!
@@BobEarnshawMoHoupdate, after more thinking time we have put down a deposit in a 69-4 today. Very excited, thanks again for all your videos, really helped us and you and Jenny are our go to bedtime viewing! 😂
Great video as always. I always have an issue with small payloads. I know why they occur… vans are much bigger and heavier than they were 30 years ago and the 3500 kg limit is stuck to for obvious reasons. 410 kg is just not enough for 4 folk considering all that is required. This is one principal reason why electric vans are making such poor progress.
This is probably the best and most thorough review of anything I've ever seen on YT - absolutely brilliant video! Of the 3 things that need fixing, the waste drain off has to be the worst. What a ridiculous place to put it! With that said, the van looks superb and I'd certainly consider it if I was in the market for a motorhome, however, I'm looking for a campervan...
Great review. It’s a shame that more manufacturers don’t loan out more vans so we get to see your views on different layouts. It also demonstrates a huge confidence by the manufacturer in their products. The burning questions are, has this van changed your view on drop down beds? They do provide more living space area. Also, would your next van have to be a Ford chassis with auto gearbox? Be interesting to get your view on the Fiat 9-speed. Next time you are down in Devon area you can take mine for a drive. Personally, I think that the Fiat cab looks better proportioned than both the Ford and the Mercedes. The cabs on these are narrower and make the hab area look really wide?
Yes, the drop down bed does give you more space and it worked well, but I still prefer fixed beds. The hab area does look wide compared to the cab, but I really did like the Ford.
Bob. We have the 74-4DL and as I have commented previously we love it. However agree with your comments wholeheartedly regarding: Curtains yes useless. Waste pipe what an awful idea. We are in the process of rectifying this ourselves. We also have the same problem with the under cabinet strip lamp. The whistling sunroof was also an issue but it does have another another setting on the lock down points to cure this. It is however quite hard on your fingers. Ours has to go back as the bathroom panelling is not sealed correctly the front usb points in the lights do not work and other bits and pieces. You commented the other day about there being no such thing as the perfect motorhome and that is spot on. I do think the industry still has a long way to go on build quality and quality control but overall I think Bailey have done a good job on the Adamo. Time of course will tell. Great and honest review. Thanks to you both.
Len Aitken Thank you for a really in depth review. I have to agree with most of your comments. We did look at this Bailey back in April and have to say were not impressed with the quality. There are a lot of good ideas but not all that well executed. That table is a real pain when trying to get from the living area to the cab. Even folded it is too big with lots of sharp edges to catch yourself on when trying to get past. The bathroom door on the one we looked at had similar problems and as for the cab curtains, well words fail me. They are totally useless. Very cheap and nasty !! Like you we would have liked blinds but the dealer said they could not be fitted to the new Transit. That, together with the fact that a roof mounted air con unit could not be fitted because there is no suitable size roof vent meant we decided against it. We will stick with our Autosleeper Broadway, a much better quaility motorhome. Thanks again for your honest appraisal.
Thanks, but I'll have to disagree about the table. After using it for two weeks, it's one if the best solutions for a table I have come across. We didn't catch ourselves once on it. Also, the dealer is wrong about the blinds, they can be fitted to the Ford cab.
Good comprehensive review. Interesting that you said you had taken it out to quite a few places for days out and it doesnt have a facility to tow at the moment. Do you think it would be as good for days out in summer? Obviously finding parking spaces in winter is easier than in summer which could necesitate a tow car.
Certainly down south in mid summer would be a different picture for parking. We're glad took our car with us down to Devon and Cornwall this year. I'm hopeful they will change that tow bar situation. Many people want to tow with their motorhomes, not just cars, but boats and trailers.
great review once again i liked it before you did this and still do my preference would be the dl model my gripes would be no towing and the waste pipe apart from that i still love these and would be my 1st choice to buy thanks for the review
Another great review, and on a par with what I expected, based on the Bailey Facebook group, I think, on the whole, it's a really well thought out design, so it's a shame that there are these "quirks" , particularly the waste drainage, cab curtains and not being able to up-plate it (as the payload is not great). I also noticed there is no awning / canopy, which I guess is because the weight would reduce the payload even more. I think most manufacturers have niggles with fixtures and fittings (such as the light falling down and the loose window surrounds) and while I realise they shouldn't happen it's the after service that has a big impact on whether you get a satisfactory fix. Overall it seems to be an attractive option but I really hope that Bailey take your review into account when making the next reiteration of this motorhome. BTW, I'd also heard they'd stopped manufacturing at the moment, and thought it was because they can't get all the parts they need for the build. I hope they use the time to iron our the niggles, as it'll be an even better motorhome then.
My captains seats can be a bit of a pain to move as well but you do develop a way to do it. My first van had Truma heating, I didn’t like it. The van I have now is Whale heating which I love, it’s so easy to use. My fridge at home does the same thing, like it seals the door. Great review from both of you.
A bit of advice please. We are about to complete the purchase of an Adamo 69-4 and wonder if you feel that it worth having a gas crash sensor fitted so that we can keep the motorhome warm as we travel. Do you think it is worth the extra cost of purchasing one and having it fitted? Is there anything else that you would recommend adding that does not come as standard. Thanks for you help.
Brilliant review Bob and Jenny we have the 75-DL great vans to drive. We have had water level issues which I think I’ve sorted now after recalibrate 👍🏼Just you was saying about the reversing camera you can move it on the are two wheels on the back you can un tighten not a lot of movement but enough too see it better. 👍🏼
Hi Bob and Jenny, we have a Adamo 69.4 and like yourselves we like it very much . We enjoyed your review. Did you use the Whale water pump to fill the water tank , as we conected ours but it wouldn't pump the water out of the aqua roll. Any suggestions.
No, we didn't take an Aquaroll, but I do remember there is a fill tank option on the controls. I did mention it on one of the videos, can't remember which one!
Thanks for doing this Bob, very comprehensive and I'm glad Bailey have made the improvements. We've just ordered a 69-4, expected delivery in September so really looking forward to it. I think you said in another video that your sat nav didn't fit in the built-in holder that flips out - is that right? We're thinking of buying the same sat nav you have - the Avtex Tourer Two - but is this too small for the holder and it doesn't fit snugly enough? Thanks! A pity if that's the case as the holder would be ideal and the sat nav looks good.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo Thanks Bob, that's a pity. I don't fancy using a suction pad on the sat nav but may look at other options as to where to put it - maybe place it where you did.
@@davidmarek72 there's some e called Leigh Folger who makes sat nav holders, he may be able to do something. I use the Garmin Friction Mount in our Kon-Tiki Sport, but that needs a flatish surface. I used that in the Bailey but it was sitting in the dashboard top pocket, so a little hidden.
Great honest review thanks👍🏻 If Bailey solved the issues and you could add a towhitch to enable you to tow with it, would you ever consider changing your lovely Kontiki for the Adamo?
Bob as a seasoned Motorhomer what’s your thoughts on the vehicles payload, going on the raw figures I feel you’d need to be a bit careful with what you put in it.
Yes, the same with many motorhomes with a 3500kg MTPLM, but it's not the worst payload I've come across at 410kg. You'd would need to be wary if carrying 4 people and all your kit. The only way you can be sure is to check on a weighbridge.
I think you can up plate the adamo and lnb do offer a tow bar.The whistle on the front sky light is a known fault but you can get a upgraded window seal
Such an honest and comprehensive review, thank you Bob and Jenny, really considering upgrading from my Swift Edge as I need more space for the whippets, only problem is that I hear Bailey have halted production at the moment?
@@BobEarnshawMoHo It was from a post on Bailey Owner's Facebook page, I phoned Bailey factory in Bristol to request a viewing to be told that there were only three 69-4's in the country, nothing in the South West!!! Have booked a ticket for the show at NEC in February 2022 hope to be able to view one there.
Great comprehensive review Bob Jenny , great points for Bailey to look at for 2022 builds with very easy fixes it’s a pity they do r do this on a Fiat , Peugeot cab , the Competitor is the Bennimar 286 👍
Thanks, Bailey have only ever used Peugeot, which doesn't have an automatic option. If they used Fiat, it's at least £2500 for the automatic. I thought the Ford cab was one of the highlights.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo Agree BobI like the transit but I here nightmares about the injectors failing., and I feel this would be a problem out of warranty, I know you can get extended warranty and there’s many recall’s, thanks again for your comprehensive review 😀
@@tonymartin3780 OK, up to now, I was unaware of that issue. Seems like Ford are going to replace all the affected injectors. That's going to take some time!
HI again, I am not sure if anyone else has asked this question (apologies if they have). I am sure you mentioned that you upgraded your Kon-Tiki MTPLM (I think its called re-classified or something) as the Adamo can't be upgraded due to the chassis, can I ask how you found the available weight left, having restricted to only 410kgs (without a passenger or dog(s)). I have completed some maths for 2 people and a dog, with a full tank of Diesel (not the 90% full) and 2 Gas bottles, as well as taking 30 litres of water) giving us approximate 240Kgs for everything else. I would like to ask the both of you if you had any limitations you found due to the reduced available weight compared to your current Motorhome? Hope that makes some sense. Thanks James
Apparently Bailey are supposed to be making the next version abled to be up-plated. But, it's best to check with your local dealer. As for capacity, the 69-4 is probably OK for two people, but once you start adding kids and all their luggage, bikes and so on, it will start to get fairly close to the limit. I would say that the only way to properly check your motorhome's weight is to take it to a public weighbridge when fully loaded.
And I tried to get one retro-fitted on the near side of the van, but it was very difficult to run a gas pipe without major dismantling inside - so I am surviving fine without.
A very good review Bob, I see it has the tyre pressure monitoring system which is handy, but does that mean that Ford have taken the spare wheel away ?
@@BobEarnshawMoHo Oh dear, unfortunately most manufacturers seem to be going this way & a simple puncture will now probably turn into an absolute nightmare especially if you’re in a remote place, the repair kits rarely work. Manufacturers please FIT A SPARE. (Ask Karina, Here We Tow what happens with no spare)
No spare wheel is my issue with all vehicles, I bought a spare for my car and was so thankful that I had it having had a puncture recently. We should start a bring back the spare wheel campaign
Sorry for misunderstanding it's the tamber curved door to the washroom ,that slides open and closes when traveling, should there be a catch, Also been given a tool to manually wind the drop down bed if battery fails. But no one seems to know were the hole is to wind it up
Thanks for the video Bob. You didn’t mention the hand break or if the van has hill start. Not at all impressed with payLoad as if I took myself, wife and 2 friends and extra gas bottle we would be over the weight limit.
No you're right I didn't mention the handbrake in this video, but I did keep leaving it on in the other videos! I found it doesn't need hill start because of the automatic gearbox. Payload is a issue with a lot of 3500kg motorhomes, this is not the lowest payload I've seen.
We had a Bailey Adamo 69 4. It was so poorly built and had some many faults we had to get rid of it after just five months with the loss of over £8k. The build quality and durability was shocking. Going on holiday should be a joy not a dread. We now have a Autosleeper and the difference is like chalk and cheese.
Just watched the full review what a great job you have both done !!!!!!! have you had any feed back from Bailey as yet .......hopefully you will be able to do a short video on comments from them........... love watching you touring videos more soon I hope .
Ford Motor Company UK have reduced the recommended service interval for timing belt, tensioner and idlers to 6 years or 100,000 miles. Some garages suggest changing earlier at 80k. I'm not sure if this is an issue faced by many motorhome owners who probably do 6-10k miles a year.
The after sales support must be a major concern if the experience of the couple on Rob and Lynns channel are typical. To have water leaking in on a two year old vehicle also raises questions of build quality at Bailey. Or am I wrong ? It's a major investment for anyone and I would need to know there is a safety net f something went wrong.
Congratulations on being the first to mention that. However poor their experience was, I don't believe that is the typical experience of most Bailey owners. We had no major problems with this van. If we had, you would have heard from me.
@@CaravanningwiththeCoxs I imagine many defects do occur on all makes, but this one was a catastrophic failure of the structure of the motor home. I feel for that couple, clearly distraught.
For me the ford looks dated not a good looking motorhome how you undo the bonnet were the key goes all gets dirty in and after a while its a job to unlock not the greatest of layouts
Seems there are too many issues to tempt me away from German brands. The UK manufacturers know that UK buyers are willing to put up with poor build quality.
Please don't misinterpret what I said about this motorhome. I did say build quality was pretty good, but there were some trim issues and design faults on this demo motorhome.
What a brilliant, honest and comprehensive review. I hope Bailey and other manufacturers listen to your valid comments and take heed. Indeed I hope other manufactures give you both the opportunity to review other motorhomes because they and others would benefit from your input.
Thank you.
Bathroom floor developing a squeak and sagging slightly when you put you wight on it, due to not being screwed in correctly
Drop down bed not dropping down then impossible to drop manually with the tool provided by Bailey.
I would recommend others to consider other motorhome manufacturers who do a similar configuration due to the poor build quality we have experienced,
.
Those dear dogs, had me in stitches with the garage door!!!! So sweet. I think Bob will find it hard going back to a manual gearbox!!!! Thank you and take care.
Thanks for watching.
A good comprehensive and honest review of the Bailey. Useful for any prospective buyers of these motor homes

Yes,the 60-4 is a nice small coachbuilt. Should be quite nippy too!
Thank you, glad too hear you got the garage door latched and the sliding door wasn't a problem.
Thank you, I'm told that the issues we highlighted will be addressed.
Glad it was useful.
Well done!
Yes, enjoyed the driving a lot!
An excellent, honest, entertaining review. More thorough than most
Thank you.
Great review, nice to see you and Jenny had an overall good experience and there would always be issues with any van new or old . It’s all the joys of motoring. 👍🏻
Having owned a 75-4i for 8 months and used it extensively, I thought it was a very fair and spookily accurate review.
We are very happy with our van but our points for improvement (other than the curtains and waste access mentioned many times) are:
1) fresh water gauge is worse than useless, esp as it tripped out the pump at 0% (now overidden as Bob has done) even if it is 1/3 full visually - it has been in for repairs, had a new sensor, been recalibrated but it is still, very inaccurate. I now fill it “by eye” using the blue inspection screw cap, and monitor useage “by eye”
2) Bizzarely, all,our bedroom window blinds are very stiff too!!!! Booked in as a warranty issue…….
3) Our bedroom door is a fixed panel door (not a flexi screen) but is also very hard to slide back & forth……….
I would still buy another one though.
Dave
Thanks, I think a lot of water sensors seem to be inaccurate.
You're very welcome, although this was recorded two years ago.
Great review from you both. Going on the pros and cons you discussed I would happily swap my Pegaso 590 for the Adamo for three main reasons, the driving experience, the drop down bed; I have to use a ladder to get into mine; and the toilet it's way too high, my feet are left dangling so I need a stool to aid laying a stool.......sorry TMI

Great video Bob & Jenny , a very fair unbiased view. I agree with you the modern auto gearbox is a very welcome addition to any MH. We have a new Fiat Ducato fitted with the latest auto box and we love it . It really does make driving a pleasure . Great review guys. Thank you .
Thank you, the auto box was great.
Thank you, yes it is very good that Bailey do this. They really don't need to do it for Sales reasons.
Kind regards
Craig & Julie
They sent some instructions for adjusting the settings on water levels, but it didn't help. Think it's more to do with the sensors themselves. Your dealer should be able to check the settings for you.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo thanks Bob, our dealer is unfortunately 3 hours drive away from where we live, as you can imagine it’s a bit of a pain when we have to take it in for warranty work with a 6 hour round trip 😳
Great motorhome, love the space inside👍
Thanks, I was told that there is no approved tow bar fitting and any towbar fitment would invalidate the warranty if any damage occurred.
Some sort of gate latch for the garage access door?
Hi Bob and Jen
Great review
This is one of the vans on our list to look at so it’s been great to get a very detailed view on usability and the practical stuff like storage cooking the fit and finish etc so yes I hope that production version has your feedback in it
Good to hear.
Good honest review, this Motorhome looks very user friendly and comfortable for living space and driving experience. Poppy and Tara seemed to adapt welk to their new surroundings too. Thanks for sharing 👍
Yes, I think Poppy and Tara were more relaxed because they couldn't see out as well!
Thank you for getting back to me, been in touch with our dealer don't know where tool goes to manually drop the bed,and are going to see if they can see if they can solve the problem with the tamber door opening when traveling,Also phoned Bailey said will get back to us next week
Yes it's ironic, we could barely close the tambour door on the one we borrowed!
Very honest review from you both really enjoy your travel vlogs and we are learning so much from you. 👍😊
Yes payload is a problem if there's four of you.
Thank you, we did like the 69-4. Glad we helped.
@@BobEarnshawMoHoupdate, after more thinking time we have put down a deposit in a 69-4 today. Very excited, thanks again for all your videos, really helped us and you and Jenny are our go to bedtime viewing! 😂
Enjoy your new Motorhome!
Bob loving your integrity and accuracy its amongst the best in motorhoming.
Thank you very much.
@@BobEarnshawMoHoand Jenny too!
You must have heard her! 😊
@@BobEarnshawMoHomy ignorance is my poor apology.
I can't see electric coachbuilt motorhomes ever being a thing with 3500kg as the limit. Now, hydrogen combustion engines...
Thank you. The new versions have a side exit for the water.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo Good on Bailey for taking on board your thoughts. 👍
Very good well done to both of you, you definitely know your camper. Enjoy and thanks.
We’ve got a similar Motorhome and the Duvalays have been fine with the bed in the raised position but we haven’t been away after October so far.👍
We got condensation on the Duvalays leaving them in the up position. Maybe it's only a problem in the winter.
Always enjoy your videos.
Thank you, glad you like your Adamo.
The dogs play hide and seek. 😂nice review Bob and Jenny.
Thanks, they were funny!
Len Aitken
Thank you for a really in depth review.
Yes, we're quite taken with the 75-4.
Yes, let's hope Bailey take the time to make those improvements. I'm convinced it can be a cracking motorhome.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo I agree. It's got a lot of great features.
My captains seats can be a bit of a pain to move as well but you do develop a way to do it. My first van had Truma heating, I didn’t like it. The van I have now is Whale heating which I love, it’s so easy to use. My fridge at home does the same thing, like it seals the door. Great review from both of you.
Thanks, I haven't tried Whale heating yet.
It's very nice to have on route heating.
Thanks, agree with you on the driving, I'd still prefer that screen to be where the rear view mirror is.
Thanks for the very good review Bob - Is the garge big enough for two bikes?
I believe so, but we didn't try it.
I’m a solo driver, what’s the visibility like on a angled junction looking to the left?
I can see through the nearside window in the lounge.
We have just got adarmo 694, there is a small tool which is supposed to use to manually drop the drop down bed if
Hi Bob and Jenny, we have a Adamo 69.4 and like yourselves we like it very much .
Thanks Bob managed to get it working 😁
Ah, good news.
I can't remember, but I think it didn't fit, too small and too deep. The holder is designed for phone, rather than a tablet.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo Thanks Bob, I'll take a look.
Great honest review thanks👍🏻 If Bailey solved the issues and you could add a towhitch to enable you to tow with it, would you ever consider changing your lovely Kontiki for the Adamo?
We would shortlist the 75-4i model.
Great honest review once again... brilliant 👏 👍🍾
Thank you!
Excellent review Bob & Jenny
Sorry if this is rather a long time after your review, which is very comprehensive, but is there no provision to fit an awning?
It could be fitted by a dealer, just doesn't come with one.
I think you can up plate the adamo and lnb do offer a tow bar.The whistle on the front sky light is a known fault but you can get a upgraded window seal
Bailey told me you can't up plate the Adamo and a tow bar may invalidate your warranty because the chassis is not designed for a tow bar.
Such an honest and comprehensive review, thank you Bob and Jenny, really considering upgrading from my Swift Edge as I need more space for the whippets, only problem is that I hear Bailey have halted production at the moment?
Where did you hear that, they did halt production during the various lockdowns, but wasn't aware of any halt recently?
@@BobEarnshawMoHo It was from a post on Bailey Owner's Facebook page, I phoned Bailey factory in Bristol to request a viewing to be told that there were only three 69-4's in the country, nothing in the South West!!! Have booked a ticket for the show at NEC in February 2022 hope to be able to view one there.
@@anneprowse1099 yes, just found from Bailey out that Adamo production restarts in the New Year.
Very good honest review! Shame about the Defects though!
Hi both, really enjoyed your review, very informative xx
Thanks for watching and catching up!
Hi Bob and Jenny the golden question is would you trade your Kontiki in for this Motorhome
We wouldn't rule out the Adamo 75-4i.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo Bob that's a very diplomatic answer.
Thanks
James
Apparently Bailey are supposed to be making the next version abled to be up-plated. But, it's best to check with your local dealer. As for capacity, the 69-4 is probably OK for two people, but once you start adding kids and all their luggage, bikes and so on, it will start to get fairly close to the limit. I would say that the only way to properly check your motorhome's weight is to take it to a public weighbridge when fully loaded.
Easy trick for the bathroom door or sticky blinds. Use spray polish carefully into the runners.
Thanks, let's hope that is the solution.
Am I correct in thinking that this model doesn’t have an outside gas connection for BBQ’s etc?
You are correct, it does not have an outside BBQ connection. I have survived for two years without one. 😁
Yes, no spare, just a repair kit.
But no one seems to know were the hole is to wind it up
I can't remember, our tambour door was stiff to open, so didn't need a catch!
We didn't see a hole to manually wind the bed up, as we didn't need to. Really, your dealer should be showing you these things?
I've had a look in the manual and there doesn't seem to be a way to manually wind down the bed.
One thing I like about it is the 'aggressive' looking front end, certainly makes a presence on the road
Yes, it's a bit 'in your face' 😊👍
Great review Bob & Jenny. Phil from VW Adventures
Thanks for your support.
Great what ever you review, would you swap?
No, it's not for us, but the 75-4i would be interesting..
Great review x
Very good review
We had a Bailey Adamo 69 4. It was so poorly built and had some many faults we had to get rid of it after just five months with the loss of over £8k. The build quality and durability was shocking. Going on holiday should be a joy not a dread. We now have a Autosleeper and the difference is like chalk and cheese.
Sorry to hear that.
Just watched the full review what a great job you have both done !!!!!!! have you had any feed back from Bailey as yet .......hopefully you will be able to do a short video on comments from them........... love watching you touring videos more soon I hope .
Thank you. Watch our video at 17:00 this evening.
Bailey have always made good equipment and their is always something you would do better
The position of the waste pipe is crazy and needs Bailey to make it more a accessible.
Yes, agree with that.
Great review
The battery fails. We're does it go and how to use it
Did you not get a dealer handover? The battery is under the front nearside sofa under a panel.
Lovely Camping Car I wish UK manufacturers would take Quality Control more seriously!
I'm very worried when ever I see a Ford Chassis.
There are documented issues with the wetbelts shredding.
This allegedly is a ticking time bomb.
Hi, you can get a tow hitch fitted if you want.
Yes, they introduced that around the beginning of the year. You should watch our series on the Adamo 75-4i where we have a tow bar extension on it.
However it might be a later modification but it is available on current models.
Very nice ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Looks at pretty average van on the whole Captain!! Hope your better now ! You like me are not a great patient patient !!😂😂👍🏻👍🏻
This was the Adamo we borrowed 2 years ago.
Adarmo 694. The wash room sliding door opens and shuts when traveling with such force, no catch or anything. This can't be right
No it needs a clip, think I have already replied to you.
I think in this case you only hear of the bad ones not the many good ones… every manufacturer has their fare share of problems.
@@CaravanningwiththeCoxs I imagine many defects do occur on all makes, but this one was a catastrophic failure of the structure of the motor home. I feel for that couple, clearly distraught.
Thought it was a caravan.
PTFE spray will help the slide door
Good tip, but wasn't our motorhome to fix!
I know someone who up-plated a adamo 75-4dl to 4000kg just a paper chase exercise
OK, it may be a paper exercise, but I was told by Bailey that the Adamo cannot be up plated as it is already at it's maximum weight.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo fair enough bob just telling you what I know it can be done
@@BobEarnshawMoHo is that because, like the tow bar, the chassis isn't able to take the additional weight that up-plating involves?
9:18 this could prevent thief's from taking your fuel
Yes, I suppose we'd get used to it.
For me the ford looks dated not a good looking motorhome how you undo the bonnet were the key goes all gets dirty in and after a while its a job to unlock not the greatest of layouts
Yes it is a strange place to unlock the bonnet. We thought that layout was the best of the Adamo layouts.
Need to check 'old money' body length Bob! Just sayin'
Yes, I said 27ft instead of 22ft. Good job I put it on the screen! 😁
