Altijd leuk om te zien dat er altijd wel Nederlanders zijn overal te wereld. Deze man heeft een hele nette camper Scania. Ben blij dat hij hem laten zien hier bij Bruce. Bedankt voor deze video. ❤
Here in Belgium, we are so used to the flatfaced trucks that when a US truck drives by, everyone stares at it and loves the look of it. Didn't know the inside is not that great.
Love to see you are so enthusiast about SCANIA trucks and make them known in the US. I started my career as a truckdriver in the Netherlands and drove some SCANIA’s like the 113m 360, 143m 480 V8 and a R530 V8, I also drove DAF’s and Merc. Actros, in my opinion SCANIA’s a the best. Love to see you make these vlogs, keep on going 👍🏼
I gave 11.5 years of my IT engineer life to Scania in Södertälje. It was a great learning experience. I did visit and helped out colleagues a couple of times in Zwolle (Netherlands) Everyone was very nice. But Dutch people are strange. They usually don't eat lunch, just a quick sandwish.
@@ayoubs7324 Yes. But it's so different from the rest of the western cuisine. But i really loved the atmosphere over there with a lot of good beer(albeit in small glasses), until it was Sunday and everything was closed(almost) due to Calvinism. I walked around Zwolle in despair for many hours, before finding a gas station that had Heineken. So then i was in heaven again. Lol.
@@christer.rehnstrom You should have come to Rotterdam. It's the Dutch city that never sleeps. And yes, we don't have a big lunch, we save that for the evenings.
As a fellow dutch man i hope you can make a visit to the DAF museum as DAF is our own national truck company. They used to make some pretty fast ones in the 80's used for desert rally's like Dakar.
48 years driving Scanias , they are incredible and apart from one non V8 Scania I swore after a six cylinder I would never again buy any Scania unless it was a V8 …They really are mountain stormers with incredible torque and incredible engine/ gearbox braking that leaves the brakes cool at all times …The fuel consumption running at 44tons with 6 axles was 8 mpg …
Did you talk to him about how long he can live off grid? I think he told me 6 weeks. It’s got a full filter system he can stop and jump from literally anywhere for drinking water. Such a cool unit! Was blown away talking with him
Most amazing thing about whese new V8 scanias is ergonomics. You won't get tired, and you feel the truck as your own body extension +power = excitement
A small tip for your trip to Finland and Sweden, bring warm clothes, it's quite cold atm. -22 degrees C where I live in Sweden a few hours north-west of Stockholm so be prepared.
Mack builds all their own stuff....I remember my 300+ , I did oilfield work back then, that thing would go places that other trucks had to be towed in with a cat, I chained up and had no problems !! I drive a T800 now and love it also, great trucks . A Dutch farmer up the road has a Scania for a grain truck, always gives me a smile when I see it. Thanks for the vid!
When I drove a 124 first time a 2008 model every other trucks felt old fashioned. Super quiet and the ergonomic is just fantastic. Everything is within range without lifting yourself out of the chair.. All scania engines are super drivable. They pull from well below 1000 rpm
There exists also a Finnish truck brand btw, Sisu. But they are a smaller manufacturer and for example the cabs are supplied by Mercedes. Presumably you don't have time to visit them when you're here (~50 miles west from Helsinki), but let's see, maybe you'll spot one on the road. :) (Scanias, Volvos etc. are way more common though.)
@@shaggings Yeah, and transmissions are also Mercedes automatics or Eaton Fuller. But they do offer some interesting options like the hybrid versions with 900+ hp.
Hello Bruce I'm from Sweden and I used to work as Volvo production engineer. I was raised on a farm and also has a education as a mechanic before engineering school. We visited Scania in Södertälje at times when we looked at production tooling that we purchased for the Volvo plant. You will find that Swedes love American people and that we speak english as a second language. Swedish is a small language. For us these kind of trucks is all we know.... I think the comfort insida is, like you say, a premium car. I just love your channel. Found it to weeks ago. If you show up on the West Coast in Sweden hit me up. You are so welcome.😊 /Mike

Hey i've seen that guy in Montréal Canada this summer, passed him on the highway and was stunned how much higher than my w900 this thing was, even on camera you can't tell, its SO BIG haha
Don't forget, it's $1.000.000 in The Netherlands, its very heavy taxed. To put that in perspective, a VW Golf R have a base price of $45.455 in US. This exactly the same car have a base price of $87.450 in The Netherlands. Same goes for a Tiguan, starts from $28k in US, $47.5 in Holland, and that car isn't even near the trimlevel of its US counterpart. I recon this beautiful Scania would be 500~750k when it would be possible to buy that thing in the US 😉
@@DuBstep115 yeah, but this caliber of trucks aren't bought to be driven around Europe, they are made for Morocco and Tunisia, or trips to the 'stans and Mongolia. The Scania logo is the head of a griffin. In Swedish, griffin is "gripen". Our fighter plane JAS Gripen then becomes JAS Griffin. Greetings from Sweden, I love your videos!
The Scania logo, the griffin is the heraldic( google it) symbol of Skåne ( Skåne= Scania in the latin language) since the year 1562 ish. Skåne is the most southern part of Sweden and the Scania Company started in the year 1900 In Malmö, Skåne, Sweden...
What factory are you going to in Sweden? In Oskarshamn they do the cabs for Scaina and I was part of the team of electricians back in 2016 who rebuilt part of the painting stage. Before the rebuild of the line the glue for the windshield was put on the clear coat, but what we did was an extra step where tape is put on the base coat around the window frame before painting. After the cab is painted the tape is removed and the glue is put on the basecoat. Makes for a better bond. My brother is a trucker and has a yellow Scania, he loves his job. Good luck with your trip Bruce and welcome to Scandinavia!
It is really interesting to see what this brand ( Scania and Saab ) does to people. They were ( Scania is now VW and Saab is gone ) companies who had a really different approach and still has a hardcore fan base. It is the combination of really nice inventions and features that you really gonna miss when driving another brand. It is a kind of emotional bond that is hard to define but gives you a smile driving it
And that is why it will never happen. The us with its import laws favours the american built trucks. Not saying that its a bad thing but. The only way to get it into the us market will be building a whole new factory over there. And thats one hell of a risk i bet the VAG group wont take, which owns basically 90% of Scania.
What amazes me the most between US and EU trucks is the difference in visibility. Wether it's blind spots, mirror position, outside overall view or lights. I drive a 2022 G410 daycab in the french Alps.
Love it! Looking forward to the factory tour and Finland trip! And other Scania content! I'm happy they decided to pay you a visit, awesome video! Did he get to take a ride in your modern US truck?

We have quite a lot of Scanias down here in New Zealand, we typically have either 6x4 or 8x4 chassis configurations, have seen the occasional 4x4 as well, look way better without bull bars though
I love my Scania here in the UK. It always surprises me when people slag off the auto boxes until the actually use one. The Very thought of having a manual box on the M25 makes me shudder! 😳
Loving ya work sir. Keep it up....
RUclipsr IWrocker needs to visit you and check out your Scania. He's really into Scania trucks.
Definitely! Eventually he has to go to Sweden/Finland too, check out Volvo, Scania in Sweden and maybe something more heavy duty like Wärtsilä in Finland.
Nice video Bruce.

Mooi Nederlands product. Heerlijk leven heeft deze meneer 😀
Here in Belgium, we are so used to the flatfaced trucks that when a US truck drives by, everyone stares at it and loves the look of it. Didn't know the inside is not that great.
This guy makes me smile. Good guy it seems.
Groeten uit Nederland 👍
I gave 11.5 years of my IT engineer life to Scania in Södertälje.
It was a great learning experience.
I did visit and helped out colleagues a couple of times in Zwolle (Netherlands)
Everyone was very nice.
But Dutch people are strange. They usually don't eat lunch, just a quick sandwish.
Boterham met kaas!
Yep. Strange we are 😃
Wish we had these trucks here in the states.
As a fellow dutch man i hope you can make a visit to the DAF museum as DAF is our own national truck company. They used to make some pretty fast ones in the 80's used for desert rally's like Dakar.
Ti din tidin😜😂
At a campground in Nevada right now with these people. Excited that I found this video. What a way to travel.
Bruce, you should get a brand new Scania over there on vacation and ship it back in parts. then re assemble it in the US.
I like this rebuildning/fixing stuff so much more than destroying things. Scania
Grtz from Holland!! Nice too see👍🏼👍🏼
Be sure to bring your winter gear to Finland, it is chilly.
Also if you have a change check the local Sisu trucks
Scania are my favourite lorry manufacturers without a doubt
Did you talk to him about how long he can live off grid? I think he told me 6 weeks. It’s got a full filter system he can stop and jump from literally anywhere for drinking water. Such a cool unit! Was blown away talking with him
I don't care for trucks what so ever, and don't know how I ended up here... but enjoyed it very much! Greetings from Germany!
All this Scania content is being recommended to us European viewers! New sub!!
Most amazing thing about whese new V8 scanias is ergonomics. You won't get tired, and you feel the truck as your own body extension +power = excitement
Bruce your becaming a true Scania ambassador..... Love it
A small tip for your trip to Finland and Sweden, bring warm clothes, it's quite cold atm. -22 degrees C where I live in Sweden a few hours north-west of Stockholm so be prepared.
we love the scania stuff, keep making this type of videos
Mack builds all their own stuff....I remember my 300+ , I did oilfield work back then, that thing would go places that other trucks had to be towed in with a cat, I chained up and had no problems !! I drive a T800 now and love it also, great trucks . A Dutch farmer up the road has a Scania for a grain truck, always gives me a smile when I see it.
Thanks for the vid!
That guy is awesome for dropping by like that.
Game change Bruce for u amazing this Dutch guy turned up for you Bruce I can see you getting a s series in the future thanks for showing this video
(Scanias, Volvos etc. are way more common though.)
The engines aren't Sisu either. Pretty sure they are OM series by Mercedes too.
@@shaggings Yeah, and transmissions are also Mercedes automatics or Eaton Fuller. But they do offer some interesting options like the hybrid versions with 900+ hp.

Hello Bruce
I'm from Sweden and I used to work as Volvo production engineer.
You are so welcome.😊
/Mike
Hi Bruce really great video just wanted to tell Martin to check wheel central on hub when we fit scania wheels we first fit 2x coend style wheels nuts to centre the wheel on the hub this will get rid of the wheels shaking at 80 kph
Just a headsup.
Be prepared for cold weather in Finland and Sweden, around -20C as worst i believe aka -4F and lots of snow, my SAAB looks like a drivable snow drift 😂
@@jone8626not where I am. Full sunshine.
@@jone8626 Oh look, another one that doesn't understand the difference between weather and climate. Have five bad years and one good, snow-wise? Five bad ones are not mentioned and are forgotten instantly, then come the "oh they said 20 years ago blabla".
Scania. It's another reminder of the amazing engineering and prowess this EU company possesses. Flighter aircraft, tractor trailers, etc that remain top o the range. Then GM takes over and the whole automobili division thing collapsed sank. Thanks for the vid.
To be fair, GM isnt looked up highly over here either. Even the silverado has taken a dump lately.
Cool to see Dutch plates over there!
Will be very interesting to see the travels to the Netherlands and Scania factory. As a worldly traveler myself in my younger years, its a humbling experience and will change you. Traveling is a vast educational experience all on its own. Goodluck and safe travels Bruce.
Thank you very much for the video. I hope you enjoy your visit to the SCANIA factory. I'm looking forward to seeing your video about this visit. It is very pleasant to see your videos and your friendliness. Greetings from Spain.
my brother helped build this one, its made by Twiga travel cars, named Project 105
HELL YEAH. RED WHITE AND BLUE REPRESENTING. You gotta love seeing them yellow Dutch license plates.
It’s not just Scania that make their own engines, axles, diffs etc… all Euro manufactures make all their own components
Hey i've seen that guy in Montréal Canada this summer, passed him on the highway and was stunned how much higher than my w900 this thing was, even on camera you can't tell, its SO BIG haha
That's a beautiful Scania! Well over $1,000,000. Definitely a well built all terrain beast that you can disappear for months at a time!
Its prob around 350-400k usd to buy a new next gen plus do this to it
yeah just the camper part is easily 400-500k. Custom built off-road capable campers of this size are pretty expensive.
I recon this beautiful Scania would be 500~750k when it would be possible to buy that thing in the US 😉
@@ihmesekoilua Also pretty redundant since its illegal to drive off-road in most of european countries. Busses converted to RV's are more common
@@DuBstep115 yeah, but this caliber of trucks aren't bought to be driven around Europe, they are made for Morocco and Tunisia, or trips to the 'stans and Mongolia. Besides, they are bad-road vehicles, not off-road vehicles. I saw a few similar trucks up in northern Scandinavia this summer - it's quite possible to get away from civilization and get a bit of mud on the tyres in Europe as well.
Well, welcome to Sweden next week :) If you're planning to visit the Scania factory you're actually going to my home town, Södertälje. Will be fun to see that video when it coms out. Wish you safe travels and I hope you will enjoy your stay. Cheers!
That´s a Scania beast!!!! Greetings from Sweden!!
That Scania RV is immaculate kudos to the owner for such a beautiful truck!
thanks
Im enjoying this content so much Bruce. Thank you. Ive been driving Scanias since passing my test in 1990 including recently the new gen. We take them for granted here in Scotland as we dont know much else. Its a shame you didnt get a chance to drive it in the dark as the lights on the new gen are amazing. Thanks again and i look forward to your future content. ❤🏴
Saw this exact vehicle moments ago. Very impressive to see in person!
I definitely appreciate this video Bruce. I've learned alot about the Scania because of your latest videos. Thanks brother. 🇺🇲👍
Hey Bruce
I drove a Scania R 500. When I quit that job it had done 2378730 km=1478000 miles
and it ran 2 years after I stopped
Scania is the BEST
Welcome to Finland, there is a lot to wonder about here! The weather is really nice, cold and a lot of snow!🤣
I drove my first Scania 140, 350hp prime mover back in 1974, great truck after driving Flinstone Mack's with 250 C motors.
I just passed by that scania rv today on i 10 just before Houston
Welcome to Sweden and Scania. Been working at Scania for 33 years now. I hope they show you the new assembly line were we build combusting and electric trucks.
That was awesome that he just dropped by that he watched the channel and knew what u were into
20:41 doggo wanted a ride, too.
Love the Scania content. Being from the UK we see these everywhere. Occasionally the T series too. But bonnets on truck here are rare.
I think, I can say now "I was here before 1M sub". Amazing content! I started watching you when you got older red Scania and when you - sorry - "trashed it", I stopped watching your channel. But now... Different story. This soo cool to watch you be so amazed about Scania.
If you go to Scania in Södertälje you must visit Scania demo center and try out Nordic truck combination truck and trailer over 24 meters 60 tons
Thanks for sowing us the Scania RV. That thing is so nice.
I am desperate to see how you get on at the Scania factory. You will be like a kid in a candy store😂😂. I hope you have a brilliant experience and take away some great ideas for more videos.👍
Used to drive a R620 NEXT GEN Road train pulling just over 90T. Pulled well and was so comfortable even fully loaded. Best thing getting out end of day and not feeling beaten. Yes the bunks not huge but you would be surprised the amount of space they have.
Insane exped vehicle, I’m not a trucker but love great engineering and design. I always thought American trucks were the top end of trucks but you have opened my eyes. I’m in U.K. so see Skania and other European trucks all the time. Hope you have a great trip to Europe and you have one more sub for your content and enthusiasm. Andy UK
@@kirahund6711 Well I bow to your greater knowledge, jeez some people.
If you go to Sweden to like Scania in Södertälje, Head like 130km down to Norrköping and you can check in and also try DAF XF, DAF XG+ and some Volvos, Volvo fh16, fh12, nh12 etc.
The clutch pedal on the new Scania is optional, so for example if you need to crawl real slow or if you get stuck and need to rock the truck away.
Love seeing our yellow tags on your roads. Speaking of crazy trucks, keep an eye out for the Dakar rally. Starting just after new years.
Top gear said it... There's 2 type of truck driver, those who drive Scania, and those who wish they did...
You will be amazed some of the upgrades Scania owners have made and also how much notice Scania take and take on board to help promote and make our life easier.
It is a kind of emotional bond that is hard to define but gives you a smile driving it
Saab Defence is still around though
Saab was never gone, only saab cars. Saab still going strong with military tech. Oh yeah, still driving saab cars xd
Dutch truckers are the best truckers. And Sweedish iron is pretty good too!
Scania would put all the American truck companies out of business if they ever wound up here. Amazing machines.
And that is why it will never happen. The us with its import laws favours the american built trucks. Not saying that its a bad thing but. The only way to get it into the us market will be building a whole new factory over there. And thats one hell of a risk i bet the VAG group wont take, which owns basically 90% of Scania.
@@planaprojectyet, they bought Navistar.
That’s how low efficiency products can continue to thrive. Keep the foreigners and the technology out and you can stay in the seventies.
Canada will make the US jealous I think. Scania is coming over there!
The United States protects its brands a lot, if Scania enters the country it would destroy all of them
What amazes me the most between US and EU trucks is the difference in visibility. Wether it's blind spots, mirror position, outside overall view or lights.
I drive a 2022 G410 daycab in the french Alps.
Wow Bruce, now Scanias have started looking for you.😁
Love that you’ll go see the factory!
Love it! Looking forward to the factory tour and Finland trip! And other Scania content! I'm happy they decided to pay you a visit, awesome video! Did he get to take a ride in your modern US truck?
I saw this parked in the Wal-Mart parking lot in Sherman, TX a few nights ago. It is unlike anything on US roads. It makes an Earth Roamer look like a toy.
we are in yellowstone now
