Great tutorial. Had to digitally sign a pdf document for work, and got through it in no time with the instructions found here after struggling with it on my own for about an hour. Very straight forward.
I've created the digital signature following the instructions but I don't understand how you saved it on the awesome certificate. I can't find my digital signature.
Thanks Vincent! I've got more in the pipeline right now. They take a little time to produce, as I want to make sure I get great quality audio, and that the tutorial makes sense for everyone and is easy to follow.
How can one add a roll over pop-up type definition or explanatory note to a text word or phrase for clarification that only pops up when the operator rolls over the selected text with mouse? (Not sticky note - or otherwise visible)
Not right now, The Fakey Cake Maker, I'm kinda busy. In fact, look, I'm gonna have to ask you to just go ahead and come back another time. I got a meeting with the Bobs in a couple of minutes.
I am a new employee. I have a W4 I need to sign. I have Adobe Acrobat DC Pro. After watching this video, I created and now have a digital signature (thanks to you), but when I go to digitally sign the Signature line, there is no red little line in the upper left corner, thus I can't actually sign it.... any advice?
Melanie McCann is there a signature field on the document? I don't think the IRS created the w4s like that. But with Acrobat Pro DC, you can actually draw you signature anywhere on the document.
Very helpful. Thanks for sharing. How do I add a date stamp? Also when trying to upload pdf in PeopleSoft, it gives this error: There is a problem in PS with opening the pdf that has your digital signature.
Thank you for the quick response. Yes the word document was converted to a pdf, I do not want to change it to a form. In the DC version it seems to want to convert to a form for the signature box. Is there a way around that? Thank you
The easiest way to sign a PDF without creating a form is to open the "Fill & Sign" tool (From the menu, go to Tools- -> Fill & Sign (Acrobat Reader DC). You can draw your signature, use an image, or type your name. This signature can be placed anywhere on the document, and will restrict any further editing of that PDF unless the signature is removed.
Hi there - I have been updated to Adobe DC and have a word document that I DO NOT want to turn into a form - just add a signature drop down - similar to what you created in Digital Signature - problem is I am not able to find a way to just add the box? Pleas help as I have multiple documents that will need signatures. Kind regards D
Donna, in order to use the digital signature capabilities of Adobe Acrobat, the form you apply it to must be in the PDF format. Adding digital signatures to Word documents is a very different process that I'm not 100% familiar with. If I'm misunderstanding you, please let me know and I'll try to give a better answer.
Trying to make a PDF so anyone can digitally sign a document. I need the signature field blank with the pink click here to sign button. How can I do this is Adobe Acrobat DC Pro?
Go to Prepare Form, leave the 'My Document Needs Signatures' box UN-checked, and then open whatever file you're going to work on. At the top of the form you are working, on, there a number of icons that allow you to add form elements to the document, including one for digital signatures.
In the case that I want to send a document over to a person for them to digitally sign, for instance, say I draft a letter of commitment to an owner of a design firm for a grant application, who I just need to type there name at the end or digitally sign. As I am making it convenient and fast for the letter to be sent back to me. Is this legally okay? I notice that the tutorials usually have it where the person creating the digital signature field is the one signing the document.
John, you'll need either the full version of Adobe Acrobat or Adobe LiveCycle to create forms with signature fields, or for mobile versions, you can try Adobe Experience Manager. With these applications, it's typically a matter of using the GUI to place the signature field where you want it on the page and set any necessary properties to make it look/behave like you want it to.
