I oil it only once & bake at 400°F x one hour. I even use a thin layer of Dawn when cleaning depending on what I cooked in it & I still only have to season my cast iron maybe 1-1.5 yrs.

You've got the use of baking soda and vinegar backwards! Vinegar is acidic and baking soda is a base, vinegar doesn't neutralize baking soda, baking soda neutralizes vinegar.

I don't know where you get that idea from
Some people use baking soda and vinegar which cancel each other out
It's the scourer that did the job, Why not use sodium bicarbonate instead of baking soda

      Survey says: WAAAACK
I haven’t seen pro chefs tossing cast iron out of their rotation. They still use them, they’re an invaluable asset to any kitchen, casual cooker to Michelin Star Chef. They literally last forever as long as you don’t heat or cool it too rapidly. Many folks inherited heirloom cast iron from previous generations, and still use them.
Anywho, i do get where you’re coming from, brother. You be you! If that works for you, rock on with your bad self. 👍
