Awesome Video, and Very informative information about the OTT!! I am planning an OTT tune from Big Dawgs Toyota Tuning in TN for my son's Tacoma, and for my Tacoma! Cant wait!
Prior to the tune, did you ever notice the truck "missing or jerking" in 6th gear during long stretches on the highway? If so, did the OTT tune fix this issue?
I didn't notice anything like what you describe. It may not have shifted into 6th as often but as far as the long road trips I haven't noticed anything like that.
Awesome video, I have been looking in to getting a tune for mine. I was going to go with a KDMax tune. Main reason is the throttle response is so annoying with trying to off-road with the manual transmission
A tune will help with throttle response but you'll also get better shift logic as well. I really like how Barrett explains how the OTT works to get more performance out of the Tacoma.
No, the tune doesn't get deleted from a dead battery. Some of the drive tables might be reset but after a few driving trips/cycles those will repopulate. The tune itself can only be removed by resetting to stock or updated to a new tune.

Good morning Funny I just came across you getting the OTT. I have a appointment this weekend for one. Curious about the different level times. Are you satisfied with the medium? Or do you think you might bump it up? I drive conservative. I don’t dog my truck . Maybe tow a small trailer. I’ll see what the tuner recommends
I have the Mild/Medium levels on the Tacoma. When I push the ECT button I get the Medium level. I don't use the ECT that often and I find that the Mild setting is enough for me. Having the medium setting available at the push of a button for more towing power is a great advantage. Once you have the tune done, you should have a test drive and you can find out how you want your Tacoma to respond. You can even have the ECT programed to go down a level if you want.
@@Mumfy64 just received my tune. Since my truck is still stock . They recommended light/medium tune, and I can upgrade to the medium/mild after I do my lift , gears , and tires. It definitely made a difference to the truck , and I’m happy with it. Feels like this is the way Toyota should’ve programmed it
This kind of mod is not for everyone for sure, and if you don't mod out your Tacoma like I have then it may not even be necessary. Having the option to improve response with added weight is a great option though.
