miku does not want to face reality, every time she does she gets very overwhelmed. she thinks the more you look at reality, the more you’ll break. with that, she avoids and retreats to her “fake reality” (basically fiction, delusions, phone, pretending everything is okay). she then realises that even if shes in her own fake reality or pretending, she still feels very empty, sad fake (like a bot, puppet). nonetheless she continues to do that and be delusional as she doesn’t want to be hurt by reality.
(basically no escape.)
teto on the other hand believes that she should face reality. she knows it hurts really bad but we need to face it. but she still considers miku’s take to “escape reality” and thinks about it. even though the idea’s good, she doesn’t think we should actually absorb ourselves into “fake realities” too much until we forget about the real reality. (thats what miku did). she gets really worried and asked for help as she thinks miku is being way too delusional and losing her mind. shes trying to remind her of the real reality but she doesnt want to budge and ends up hynotised (absorbed).
as teto does not want to be hypnotised like her, she faces absorbs herself into the real reality without thinking of fiction. when she does that, it overwhelms and hurts her so much until she actually did miku’s idea. her plan backfired on her.
moral: u need balance between reality and fake reality/delusions.
also at the greenscreen im pretty sure teto covering her mouth is a sign of help cause ages ago i remember learning something like when someone covers their mouth like that means they need help!
It's crazy how this one song is a metaphor for so many different problems in reality like escapism, addiction, feeling trapped/manipulated etc
People are saying that miku wearing roller skates means she can’t stop or it’s going to be very hard for her to stop. If you look at one of her moves the skates (or skate since there’s only one showing) has three wheels instead of two that is shorter. That extra wheel is actually the stopper. And it’s lower to the ground than most roller skates, almost as if it was tinkered with to be longer somehow. Either way, this makes it easier for miku to stop if she uses her roller skates. My theory is that Miku is able to stop easily with few problems but she chooses not to because she prefers the fake reality that has been made for her.
miku's uniform is folded like how the dead wears their yukata.
On the hypnotized section, teto sing the same lyric as miku but stop before the final lyric. As you can see during the greenscreen shot she cover her mouth, probably her last ditch to not fall for the hypnotizm

2:10: The chemical here is the chemical in your brain that links to hypnotism. It looks like a bit of Teto's hair, weirdly.
3:54: A theory is that Miku looks like she's been hanged. Her neck is a broken pose, her tounge is sticking out, she has dilated pupils, and her moves seem a bit broken. Also, there's a mark on her neck that isn't shadow.
4:12: Another theory is that Teto didn't really get hypnotized. she just faked it. I'm not really sure why. probably to 'fall' into this fake reality so that she can somehow coax miku out of it?(I know it's a crappy theory but I can't think of another reason.
3:04: Miku looks fine while Teto is panicking.
Again, this is just theories and not canon.

Another thing is that after teto resist the hypnosis, she immediately released miku to the hypnosis, but since she was taught self-hypnosis, She made a mistake and miku was confused at the "green screen" part.
After the grene screen part, it's obvious tet's sweating because she hoped it might work for miku to get released.

Also at 3:22 When Miku was doing puppet movements, the clouds got bigger, idk if there's any meaning to this but I just noticed it. Also the the hills and clouds were moving faster

i think mikus neck shrinking implies she took her own life, because she has a black chocker thing around her neck while teto doesnt. Also im pretty sure miku was also asking for help until the word quiz. The reason i think this is because the last item on the word quiz is a tumor that can affect the brain. so teto was probably hinting about something with mikus brain that would / already has happened. also if you look at their eyes, it goes from sparkle (happy), no sparkle (neutral), smaller pupil (nervous), then no pupil (insane). I also think that the music is the thing hypnotising them, because when teto resisted, it got numbed out.
Mesmerize = cant think of somthing else.. GUESS THEY MESMERIZED ME LMAO-

Miku's moves do get sloppier until she is hypnotized, and her neck contracts. slowly after, this "robotic" movements seem as if they're not made by Miku, which, actually, they aren't. Miku is already dead and gone, because o her neck, which explains the movements, because now she's hypnotized, she's a puppet. Teto is tired, but her moves are proper, meaning she is still alive. Also, no main alterations happen with her body until the end, which means there still could be a chance she is alive.
also, the (FOCUS) part where Miku gets hypnotizde I think is to cover up the change of her face!
