2019 anyone? I remember watching this many years ago. As at the time I was 15 when this was uploaded. At the time I wished I could be like him, hell I still do. Talented handsome kid. I bet he grew up to do great things.
You won't get recognized with percussive fingerstyle in the US, unless you go into some talent show. He's a guitarist for a band right now I believe, but I think he has a lot of potential to be a solo musician and be recognized more.
Normally wouldn’t comment on such old comments but, I’m sure you guys wouldn’t mind reminiscing in this song once more haha This really is a masterful piece though I agree! Though I get the idea he was trying to make this song with Ocean by John Butler Trio in mind hehe they’re quite similar in a sense... if you haven’t checked Ocean out, I highly recommend it!
absolutely beautiful. i practice every single day to get to a tenth of this guys level. if i was in the back breaking down equipment i'd probably sit down and mentally film this dude
@dan0ssan ...I agree; I mean it looks like they're just doing their job...tearing down the equipment and all, but how do you not notice this kid playing and just stop for a moment and drop your jaw, like I am now. He's amazing
I can name a thousand artists that were and are being marketed like crazy, yet again, how many superstars in the history of pop music have there been? At most ten fingers worth. The ability to make masses of people love you is an innate skill. Read again what I said before and think of the millions of musicians practicing hours upon hours day after day. The odds say only one will ever become a superstar. I love and adore above all else musicianship, but I am in awe superstardom.
holy wow, this is awesome. the sound you produce just from the ball and I assume the nails of your fingers is amazing. the precision is no less impressive.
I was reading threw the comments on here and mooneyeb123 stated that the back ground was like the never ending attempt to get set up.... I agree one hundred percent. BUT just emagine that you are the band that has to fallow this guy!!!!! just what are you (as a multipice band) going to do to impress any one after that ???? it would have to be one amazing rabbitt.
@whitespaniards What type of guitar instruction did you take? classical, rock, or what? Because i have been taking guitar for 8months now and can play a lot of pick songs and also fingerstyle songs like dust in the wind and blackbird but want to learn the style you play, thanks!!
I don't really mind at all either, i would normally never refer to grammar if i was in an argument but it annoys me seeing copied comments everywhere and that just added flames to the fire aha
I'm actually disappointed that this version isn't in the album. I really liked the buildup from 1:15 onwards - the album version was a bit sedated for my liking.
2024, still listening his music

2021?
2022?
2022! I saw that video more than 10 years ago and just rediscovered. Ben is still awesome!

I can really feel the evening sun on my skin, and this music. So amazing
Any 2020 people still jamming to this? Its still amazing!
Legends say they are still setting up up to this day.
Jesus Christ.. does anyone realize how good this song is? I know its several years old, but from a guitar player perspective this is genius.
Yeah that's a true masterpiece
I discovered this song recently... had the same thought. I am amazed!

The background for these videos is like the never ending attempt to get the set put up.

What I love about this kid? No tattoos, no long hair, no piercings, no image. Just raw talent. Well done!
Just my thoughts

Thank you prof for that excellent lecture. I didn't quite have my recorder on. There. Could you repeat that please.
Was this an original song by Ben Lapps, if not, who wrote it?
@bassmanfury Yeah I love my Taylor 310 ce. It sings like a bird.
I can truly respect him. I have no art to show. There would be diffetence when I would have some art as he has.
@whitespaniards What type of guitar instruction did you take? classical, rock, or what? Because i have been taking guitar for 8months now and can play a lot of pick songs and also fingerstyle songs like dust in the wind and blackbird but want to learn the style you play, thanks!!

@dan0ssan what guys on stage?
I'm actually disappointed that this version isn't in the album. I really liked the buildup from 1:15 onwards - the album version was a bit sedated for my liking.
It is an original composition by Ben.

does anyone know the original artist for this song?
Your sound reminds me a lot of Keller Williams. I'd love to see you two do a song together in the future. That would be epic :)
What guitar is that? Make & model Please. :) Thanks!
WHEN ARE YOU GONNA MAKE SOME GOOD SHIT WITH JOHN BUTLER TRIO?! You both are awesome!
I wish I could play XD
Please upload a video giving lesson
is this an original song of his? if not, who is the artist who created the original
A lot of the other songs I've seen him play are by Justin King, not so sure about this one though.
The people at the background thinks that they will make a better show but hey :) Ben Lapps just made it :)
Anyone know where tabs are for this
whos the artist to the song
Is this his own song or is it his own rendition or Debussy-reverie??? Can anyone tell me please cause i really like this
It's his own tune.
Wow dude you're amazing! where can i get a tab for this?
Dont stop guitare
Can someone please explain how Justin Bieber is a big star but this is the first time I've ever heard of Ben Lapps? What an incredible talent.
