Nice work by Max Joseph, though by way of historical context, it should be mentioned that Joseph is working in a style of editing invented by the great animator, commercials director and titles designer, Pablo Ferro, who is perhaps best known for his titles for Kubrick's Dr. Strangelove. Check out the commercials Ferro made in the early 1960s and you'll see it's all there, the rapid cutting, the use of typography and witty juxtaposition. A real master.
Great example of edits, thank you!
Nicely done. Max Joseph is someone who I have enjoyed following for some time now. I find that pacing very engaging and a great way to share a story that makes you want to follow along to.
Loving this series; great to see more in-depth examinations like this one. I'd love to see an episode on low-to-no budget short films, showing how a strong concept and sense of invention can override limited finances.
Examples: "He Dies at the End," "The Camera," and (one of my favorites) "Inspired By Bret Easton Ellis."
Great examples. Peter Lewis, the director of "The Camera," is a really good friend of mine.
Awesome channel. I hope the subscriber count continues to climb.
You should do an episode on short films in the non-profit space.
Do you have some examples in mind?
wonderful stuff. :D
Yes but you can't post websites on RUclips comments. Search for "Digital Jobs Africa" posted by Rockefeller Foundation on RUclips. It's a short I directed with a company called Wondros.
did you ever tought on .. pulling focus to the correct place? mostly if you try to "teach" about films ?
Bro Max Joseph is great but your video should've had more content than what it does now.
