a schrader valve is a type of valve common to american tires, including bicycle and car tires (or wheelchairs). it's designed with a sorta stopper so that as soon as you remove an air pump or hose, the valve automatically closes.
i dunno if you *wanted* to know what a schrader valve is, but i'm a manual wheelchair user so i end up interacting with them regularly, so, become accursed with information.
