Couldn't you just buy some indoor/outdoor carpet and glue it to some light material that you have cut to form the bed. When I do mine, I plan on using foam insulation to form fit the bed. Use metal tape to attach it together, and glue the carpet to it. And do the same to the topper. It's light and strong enough to hold the shape and hold up to wear and tear. And it's insulated and that will help in the summer and winter. And I'm also gonna put a max fan in it. I have 2 dog's and want plenty of air so they can stay cool enough.
Also, I am gonna have a small wood stove in it. Kinda like how Lone Wolf has in his. But I also eventually get an AC for it. That would be easy to do if you plan on staying at campgrounds but I don't. And I have seen a few 12v AC's come out!! Or might try a swamp cooler first.
Their is a guy that has a great set-up with his topper. He's got a frame next to the tail gate on the inside and it is fixed to have a section removable so he can stick his 5000btu AC in in it. And has a piece of plywood with holes cut in it so all he has to do is set-up his portable diesel heater on the outside on the tailgat or on the ground. And the board That goes across the bottom that replaces the tailgate, has a door to get in and out.
I wish I could remember what his channel was. But with a search could probably find it.

I just bought a new (to me) 2020 Tacoma a couple weeks ago. Previous owner must've just yanked the cap off and decided to leave the bedrug. The sales guy goes, 'That thing's weird. No idea why that's in there. Eh, we'll have the service dept get that stupid thing out of there for you before you head home.' I said, 'The hell you will. This thing is going to be built out with a camper cap. I was going to buy one of those anyway.' He seemed genuinely floored.

You mentioned an aftermarket spray on bed liner sealing up all the gaps in the bed, I'm here to tell you the Line X version I had sprayed in might have filled in half of them. I didn't know the bed was made in pieces when I bought it, and couldn't believe it when I had the bed sprayed and was putting in a rubber bed mat to save my knees and saw light shining through everywhere.
Yeah its surprising, I guess if you always have an open bed it's not terrible for drainage though

…..residential carpenter for 42 yrs, our joke when using silicone, ahhhhh nothing like the smell of silicone in the morning. Had a bed rug for yrs, wore like iron, good product. You will like it.

Literally the day after I watched your last video, and you said you did your back in, next day I had a couple of beers (6 beers) before the Mrs kindly explained that the rubbish collection was for the next day, so please take out the trash (she shouted) went down the stairs with the trash bags in my hand, and I fell and went down the stairs and now my back is done for, but embarrassingly I didn't go down fast, imagine a beached sea lion going down a set of stairs, anyways fella congrats on the 100k and soon you'll make 1 million, no problem

Holy crap! I remember installing a bedrug in my f-250. It was about 90° out and totally miserable. I was dripping in sweat! Got it done in about 3 hrs. Still don't regret it. Be careful putting loose firewood on it though! You'll never get the splinters out! 😀

The gaps in the bed are there for drainage no need to seal it up the bed rug is plastic and blocks all dust from getting through been using bed rugs for over 20 years in various trucks and never had a issue with dust and water getting through the bed rug
Hey Mike, it's definitely a good idea to run a heater in the back, warm things up, and then press down all the velcro strips. The adhesive on the velcro needs to cure to hold properly, or else it will separate from the truck bed.
I was thinking he could have put a space heater in there before putting the silicone down. Hope it works for him.

Hi Crazy, Great Video!! I have a similar set up (lined leer topper and Bed Rug). Hopefully I will get to do the Reflectix thing for the windows and maybe I can place some Reflectx between the sides and the bed rug for extra insulation. We are older and retired. I keep two ECWSS {Extreme Cold Weather Sleep Systems), just a fancy name for a military 3 piece sleeping bag that is rated to minus 40 below Zero (with proper layering), for me and the misses uncase of a brake down. You did your truck the right way. If you ever camp in the Smokey's I hope you stop in and say hi.
The bed rug looks great ! Just a FYI, I have a 2018 150 with the same bed size, those long plugs for the LED lights will leak as well. Congrats on 100k and I am glad to see you are feeling better.

Since 2010 I've had 3 Ram 1500's and all 3 have had bedbugs in them. Super awesome product.. Congrats on the 100K mark!! Looking forward to many more vids from Crazy Quady!!

Walgreen's has pain relief back patches like Salonpas that always helps me. It seems to heal the strained muscle faster as well.

I have a Tacoma with a camper build in it with the mid rise topper and I got a bed rug for it also and I gotta say I was a little worried about sealing up my bed and I decided not to and I don't get any water in in my bed. I had thought about sealing it up but I had same issue as you with being outside cause of the cold so chose not seal it until a later date but now I don't think I will now. Great video! I would leave the truck topper like it is and do some cool pinstriping.
You need to take strap of inside of tail gate on old truck and install it in you tail gate in new truck to help close it when camping in truck
I did the same on my bed but I used rtv in a cheez whiz can. Applied quick and dried pretty fast.
Maybe add waterproof spray on the tailgate material and rug closest to the outer end of truck bed?

Spray adhesive,it would seal it up easy,throw a heater in there for a cpl hours and you are done!!!
Mike IM a finish drywaller and painter. I use caulking guns often. Wish i lived near you, I'd have it done for ya.
Hair dryer works great for heating metal and dry. Try it.

Hvac guy here wear gloves when using metal tape and use an old credit card or something like as a squeegee to smooth the tape down and make it conform how you want it to.

Nice! I’m about to start taking my set up out of my Tahoe and re design it. I had some subwoofer’s in the back that I took out and put into my wife’s lowered truck.
