Excellent tutorial in how to use the Extra theme, a theme which seems to get forgotten by Elegant Themes. Very versatile theme, really useful for magazine style sites. This tutorial has got me back to the basics of what I am trying to achieve on my site - I now realise I need to simplify my site. Good morning, Ferdy. I'm part way through building my website using your tutorial. I needed a new theme after the developers of my old theme ceased providing updates and found Divi, then discovered Extra. How to get this done quickly, I thought. I used your Newspaper tutorial to build my primary website and so, the first thing I did was go to "RUclips, Ferdy, Extra"....and of course, there you were. By the end of next week I'll have both secondary websites built but only because of you. If I'm ever in Amsterdam, I'll buy you a beer!

Hi Ferdy, even optimized images causes the site to slow down(using shared hosting). I've seen websites that have their images hosted on a separate subdomain. Can you make a tutorial on that?
For anybody making a footer, I recommend doing it through the Divi theme builder (Global footer layout). It's much more customizable and beginner-friendly. I preloaded a layout I liked, added my own photo and info, moved it around a bit, and I was good to go.
Yes but in this case many widgets are being used. Although of course if you do not plan to use widgets Theme Builder is the best option

Hi Ferdy, thanks for your great tutorial. My Extra theme however is not showing the social media share buttons at the bottom of my posts like yours and I have selected them in the theme options. Do I need to install the Divi Social Sharing Buttons plugin for these to appear? Surely they would be included in the theme?

After a long time get the best tutorial about Extra theme everyone are making a tutorial on Divi theme or other WordPress theme but you are the first one after 4 to 5 year you made a tutorial and even informative and best tutorial I appreciate your work and struggle my best wishes and prayers are with you and love from Pakistan.

Hi Ferdy, awesome tutorial! This really helped me get my webpage off the ground. I'm really frustrated right now though because I can't change the header bar color of the Extra Recent Posts widget in the sidebar. I have the global accent color set, but the recent posts header is still the original theme color. Anyone else experience this issue?

I agree, that would be awesome! It´s such a bummer that you cannot use all the modules of the DIVI builder with EXTRA. So i´m still on the fence if I should build my blog from scratch with the DIVI builder or use EXTRA. Any advice highly appreciated since I´m at the point of going nuts comparing all the themes. I´ve been thinking about using Blocksy, then maybe Newspaper, then JNews, but since I have the DIVI lifeplan PLUS DIVI SUPREME lifeplan, I would want to stick with DIVI. But being a newbie and not a webdesiger, I´m worried if I can do that.
@@ChristlichePsychotherapie If you want my honest opinion, Always go with Divi and NOT with the Extra theme. Don't get me wrong, I think the Extre theme is great but Divi is much better and more advanced.
The sad thing is , if you want to have the LOOK and Feel of the Extra Theme Blog module, with your Divi theme, you'll have to buy a 3rd party plugin and that's not fair.
I hope that @FerdyKorpershoek will see these comments and create a video showing how to create that amazing Blog with the Divi theme with no extra paid plugin.
Or atleaset show how to get the same look and feel using his amazing knowledge.

You can, and then hide the title in the blogpost do you don't see it double.

It's 2023 and mobile responsiveness isn't talked about in this video until it's basically over, and then only for less than 2 min ish. Don't waste your time with video or a theme that is less than inadequate on mobile, considering that's where 50% + of most web traffic lives these days.

The Mega Menu on mobile requires you to double click the parent category after the drop down. kinda annoying because ppl might think the parent menu category is not a link and only have the 3 post items related to the parent menu. kinda annoying. i check with the divi demo page on mobile and its the same thing

Can Divi & Extra be on the same website? Does Extra have the same modules etc as Divi? A Divi on steroids. Ros is Extra a cut back on Divi features. Or are they completely different in concept?
I was not able to insert modules, it just turned white when I clicked on it.
