Did you really watch the show? Mr Slue hardly ever defend Rachel. He'd let others insult her right in front of him. Understudies deserve everything 🙌 they are able to go in on short notice and do great, have to know the entire play by hear even when they don't get to do it every day when the lead can't perform for some reason (like don't giving a damn and go to L.A. without telling the producers/directors) . Well, when she graduated she obviously didn’t bother to check in much and see how the Glee club was doing like pretty much all the other alums did. I’m not saying that she had any sort of obligation to do it, but the others did even though they also had many other things going on in their lives. So Santana is not wrong when she says that Rachel didn’t care much about the club itself.

She was probably the only alum who didn’t come back and watched any of the competitions New Directions had in season 4. And at least during Thanksgiving she wasn’t busy, she just chose to stay in NY to avoid potential drama in Lima.

Santana was mean and horrible in the earlier seasons, I highly agree but I feel like over time, starting from season 3, she gradually grew up, and by season 6 she's more blunt than cruel
Santana was right for most of it. Rachel has put people under the bus so many times. Like how she sent Sunshine to that "inactive" crack house. Or that time she quit because she didn't get a solo when Tina got it. Santana was wrong when she was talking about the prom tho. That was completely wrong. That's why I love Santana she always keeps it real. Sometimes it is hard listen to the truth. Rachel got every solo she wanted and she was on broadway. So she need to calm down.

If Mr Shue had just suspended her for a few days, I'd feel differently about it. But he didn't so I don't.
agenttheater5 i didn’t say that was a reason, it’s just contributing factor to the fact of character development. obviously Rachel and everyone else in glee has their faults, like an ordinary person, but if you compare season one Rachel to season 6 her, I’d definitely see a a big difference. i believe that Rachel did all of those stupid unnecessary actions so that she would always be at the top of glee and so she was never threatened. clearly, she was insecure, because of ppl like Santana and Quinn, who were continuously putting her down and making her try to prove her self and throw her friends under the bus to become the best, but then complain about it when she does it to them when they did the same thing to her

It was either be lead in a musical or be a background person in glee club when she was clearly the best (especially in season 1). She fought with mercedes for solos but also gave her the closing number and didn't even sing during night of neglect. She and finn tossed the duet competition so that Quinn and Sam would win so that Sam would be happy and stay in Glee. She saved the club at sectionals first year, ran around making lauren happy the second year/ She gave up running class president for kurt because she wanted him to succeed (and even stuffed the ballot box for him - which stupid but had her heart in the right place). Sure she's obnoxious and bossy but she's also the one who believes in glee the most, no-one would even take a yearbook photo to represent glee! She cares about it the most, is extremely talented, she deserves the solos. Besides, she apart from sunshine, who has she sold out?
Okay everyone. Before we jump on the ‘I hate Rachel’ train almost everyone in Glee Club, including Will, did some terrible things. Most of the shit Santana called Rachel out on applies to her. And Quinn. And Mercedes. And Puck and Finn. And I’m going to include everyone because letting Finn go on believing he was the father of Quinn’s baby was fucked up. Rachel might have had ulterior motives but she still the right thing. I’m not saying Rachel is perfect but she’s no more fucked up than the rest of them. Also, to whoever mentioned the crack house incident, like you can’t see Santana and/or quinn doing the same thing.

They did it at this point in time Lea no longer liked Naya due to how big her role had become on the show and Naya said herself in her book that by season 6 Lea wouldn’t say a word to her however it is known that the two did like become friends again or something they talked out their differences

I will say this. Santana was justified. When she auditioned to be Rachel's understudy (under fucking study), she attempted to talk with her in a mature way. Rachel was the one who started with the insults. And when Santana fired back, Rachel got physically violent with her. She then proceeded to try to kick Santana out of the apartment she helped pay for without even getting a bed. Santana has a right to be pissed here. I don't necessarily agree with bringing up prom, it was a bit cruel. But if that's how Rachel treats her friends, why should she get the illusion of winning something she didn't earn? She had no right to act like the victim when she was the one attempting to bully Santana. She just got mad that Santana wasn't going to roll over and let her win like everyone did in high school. Rachel was absolutely awful in season 5 and deserved every bad thing that happened to her (barring Finn's death, of course)
It's just like how way back in the Duets episode from season 2, when Kurt said he was gonna do a duet with the most talented person in the choir room, and at first, Rachel started smiling because she thought he was talking about HER, but then looked disappointed when he was referring to himself

I hate how Santana brought up the prom because she just pulled quinn through the mud. when at that time of the prom quinn actually liked Rachel and started to turn over a new leaf, she realised she was being selfish by cheating votes, which is why she didn’t care when she won and wanted to do something nice not only for Rachel but for Finn and Santana just crapped all over that. You can tell by Quinn’s face she wasn’t happy about Santana’s version of events.

K90_ 2019 I think with „cheat votes“ they meant that she actively and intentionally used her wheelchair for the campaign. I, personally, did never see a problem with it. She never lied and why shouldn’t she use it? She is taking lemons and making it into lemonade. But I know that a lot of people feel like she shouldn’t have and I think this is what is meant here.

Charity Bess. To say Rachel is a victim is actually a very dumb thing to say. What did she suffer through? What physical or emotional pain did she ever face? Quinn was a pregnant teen that gave up her baby, Santana was outed and had a hard time accepting who she is, Kurt was bullied out of school, Puck struggled finding his identity as a football player and a member of glee and got bullied and picked on, Marley had an eating disorder, Unique was not accepted as the beautiful woman she felt she was, and so many more. What did Rachel go through? In the end she got this great life and didn't have to go through anything near as bad as the others.
The main difference is that Santana and Sue know it. Rachel still tries to play the ingenue and tries to justify everything she does with her talent or pretends to be completely innocent of it.

Please. Santana didn't care about the other people in that room it was about her being mad and she once again sat in waiting until she could bitch and throw a tantrum. Honestly both Rachel and Santana are wrong here but I tend to agree with Santana because though she was mean about it everything she said was basically true. Rachel has run roughshod over the glee club members by either demanding performances or throwing a tantrums when they aren't given to her(for example when she said, quote, "Ken and Barbie? Are you trying to throw this?" when Will let Quinn and Sam sing instead of Rachel because he was trying to be fair to everyone and not just coddle Rachel). Another thing that bothered me about Rachel was in season 3 when every other word was either about her or complaining when someone was caring about their lives more than hers(for example when Kurt being class president to get into NYADA wasn't as important as her being class president for the same reason or when she literally tried to pay Tina to care about her future and completely ignored Tina's feelings). Lastly, Santana tried out for the UNDERSTUDY because she felt lost and wanted to be apart of something. Santana didn't try out for the role and didn't try to steal shows until Rachel starting acting full of herself. Again, Santana was out of line to yell at her in front of everyone but everything she said was true.

If Santana did this to literally any other character I’d feel bad for them in the next scene where Rachel was crying in the bathroom, but here I felt like what Rachel got was well deserved. Let me tell you a little story about when we did Newsies in high school: this girl was rude to everyone, told me I had no talent, acted like she was better than everyone else because she played the lead for the sound of music in middle school, and got so upset she quit the show when the theater teacher gave me the role of Katherine, which I earned. Yes, Santana crossed a line, but anyone who’s ever worked with a Rachel knows that they won’t hesitate to cross it a million times if it means getting the solo, the lead, or anything else they feel entitled to because they can kinda sing Rest In Peace, Naya, forever in our hearts

Angel Urbina No. They started to have problems in Season 5. Rachel tried to encourage Santana to get out there and Santana auditioned to be Rachel's understudy knowing that Rachel didn't want one. Rachel has sold out or betrayed or sabotaged most of them on various occasions throughout the years and those situations were either only vaguely called out or glossed over. Also, the prom queen stuff should have come out way before this moment if it was gonna come out at all, waiting like a year and a half after the fact to bring that up was stupid but yeah... Rachel has definitely sold most of them out and deserves to be called out for it

Rachel isn't innocent and she's always been egocentric and narcissistic. She did awful things, yes, that's true and she acted like a diva most of the times. I don’t remember Rachel selling anybody out for anything. Maybe being upset that schue was ignoring her in an effort to be “fair” to people who weren’t as talented as her. I’ve watched this show a couple times and I’ve come really respect Rachel more each time. These people treated her like complete crap. They called her names, they made fun of how she looked, how she dressed. They bullied her so much that the only way she could possibly be heard was when she sang and showed them that one day she was going to make it big because of her drive and her immense talent. 9/10 it was Rachel coming to the aid of the glee club when they sucked. And she would say things and then be berated for them, but she would turn around and gracefully accept defeat. Even going so far as to wish people luck and give them pep talks, telling them how amazing they were. And all she would get in return is more complaints that she got everything when she had absolutely nothing. That team was nothing without Rachel to make them look good. “But it’s not fair other people should get a turn”. Life ain’t fair. The most talented shouldn’t be ignored to boost someone else’s ego. She should have gone to vocal adrenaline where they would have appreciated her.

That's the only time I can think of, you are correct. But remember what she did at the end of the season? She realized she had been wrong and tried to help calm sunshine's nerves. she was the friendly face in the crowd cheering her on. Rachel's a person who means well, but her insecurities get the best of her and she panics. I think she felt that she had absolutely nothing else going for her.
I seem to remember that they still won Sectionals in Season 2 despite Rachel not getting a solo. Even after she came in with tape over her mouth in 'silent protest' that wasn't really 'silent'. I know Rachel's been bullied a lot. But just as the most talented shouldn't be ignored to boost someone else's ego, the rest of the group shoudn't be ignored to boost the leads ego.
Yes she did that after hearing Sunshine crying and vomiting in the bathroom and accused her of faking it to make her feel sorry for her. I’m not saying that she had any sort of obligation to do it, but the others did even though they also had many other things going on in their lives. It was either be lead in a musical or be a background person in glee club when she was clearly the best (especially in season 1). She and finn tossed the duet competition so that Quinn and Sam would win so that Sam would be happy and stay in Glee. She saved the club at sectionals first year, ran around making lauren happy the second year/ She gave up running class president for kurt because she wanted him to succeed (and even stuffed the ballot box for him - which stupid but had her heart in the right place). Sure she's obnoxious and bossy but she's also the one who believes in glee the most, no-one would even take a yearbook photo to represent glee! Santana was justified. When she auditioned to be Rachel's understudy (under fucking study), she attempted to talk with her in a mature way. Rachel was the one who started with the insults. And when Santana fired back, Rachel got physically violent with her. She then proceeded to try to kick Santana out of the apartment she helped pay for without even getting a bed. Santana has a right to be pissed here. I don't necessarily agree with bringing up prom, it was a bit cruel. But if that's how Rachel treats her friends, why should she get the illusion of winning something she didn't earn? She had no right to act like the victim when she was the one attempting to bully Santana. She just got mad that Santana wasn't going to roll over and let her win like everyone did in high school. Rachel was absolutely awful in season 5 and deserved every bad thing that happened to her (barring Finn's death, of course)

Quinn was going to go to Yale, and she wasn't going to be in the wheelchair forever. She could already walk when the went to prom. And she knew she was going win because she had a sympathy vote, and had finn by her side. Rachel didn't have any of that. She was going to be alone, and was going to have to watch her fiance and a girl that she literally had to fight to date finn, dance together at her senior prom. She didn't deserve that. So yeah Santana did disrespect finn by telling Rachel this because it had nothing to do with Funny Girl. Santana is a cruel bitch who never wants anyone to feel good except for her and Brit.
Charity Bess. To say Rachel is a victim is actually a very dumb thing to say. What did she suffer through? What physical or emotional pain did she ever face? Quinn was a pregnant teen that gave up her baby, Santana was outed and had a hard time accepting who she is, Kurt was bullied out of school, Puck struggled finding his identity as a football player and a member of glee and got bullied and picked on, Marley had an eating disorder, Unique was not accepted as the beautiful woman she felt she was, and so many more. What did Rachel go through? In the end she got this great life and didn't have to go through anything near as bad as the others.
These two make Sue look decent. Santana is a bully and Rachel is a narcissist.
The main difference is that Santana and Sue know it. Rachel still tries to play the ingenue and tries to justify everything she does with her talent or pretends to be completely innocent of it.

Honestly both Rachel and Santana are wrong here but I tend to agree with Santana because though she was mean about it everything she said was basically true. Rachel has run roughshod over the glee club members by either demanding performances or throwing a tantrums when they aren't given to her(for example when she said, quote, "Ken and Barbie? Are you trying to throw this?" when Will let Quinn and Sam sing instead of Rachel because he was trying to be fair to everyone and not just coddle Rachel). Another thing that bothered me about Rachel was in season 3 when every other word was either about her or complaining when someone was caring about their lives more than hers(for example when Kurt being class president to get into NYADA wasn't as important as her being class president for the same reason or when she literally tried to pay Tina to care about her future and completely ignored Tina's feelings). Lastly, Santana tried out for the UNDERSTUDY because she felt lost and wanted to be apart of something. Santana didn't try out for the role and didn't try to steal shows until Rachel starting acting full of herself. Again, Santana was out of line to yell at her in front of everyone but everything she said was true.

Let me tell you a little story about when we did Newsies in high school: this girl was rude to everyone, told me I had no talent, acted like she was better than everyone else because she played the lead for the sound of music in middle school, and got so upset she quit the show when the theater teacher gave me the role of Katherine, which I earned.

That’s just off the top of my head too dude. And as was pointed out, she just didn’t get the chance to screw anyone else over because she didn’t bother learning their names.

The only reason Rachel grew in season 5 is because she was no longer in the club but you can’t sit there and pretend for literally 3 years she wasn’t an awful team player and didn’t get better until she no longer had to be on a team. In this scene, even if half of the things she said were true, she didn't have to do this in front of everyone. She likes umiliate people and this time she was really really mean. I liked her development in the 3rd and 4th seasons, but then she just returned to be the same bitch she was. They both did wrong and awful things, but there's a limit. She was completely wrong when she talked about the Prom thing, 'cause it was something special for Rachel and Finn and she said a false version of the things. I don’t remember Rachel selling anybody out for anything. Maybe being upset that schue was ignoring her in an effort to be “fair” to people who weren’t as talented as her. I’ve watched this show a couple times and I’ve come really respect Rachel more each time. These people treated her like complete crap. They called her names, they made fun of how she looked, how she dressed. They bullied her so much that the only way she could possibly be heard was when she sang and showed them that one day she was going to make it big because of her drive and her immense talent. 9/10 it was Rachel coming to the aid of the glee club when they sucked. And she would say things and then be berated for them, but she would turn around and gracefully accept defeat. Even going so far as to wish people luck and give them pep talks, telling them how amazing they were. And all she would get in return is more complaints that she got everything when she had absolutely nothing. That team was nothing without Rachel to make them look good. “But it’s not fair other people should get a turn”. Life ain’t fair. The most talented shouldn’t be ignored to boost someone else’s ego. She should have gone to vocal adrenaline where they would have appreciated her.

She realized she had been wrong and tried to help calm sunshine's nerves. she was the friendly face in the crowd cheering her on. I seem to remember that they still won Sectionals in Season 2 despite Rachel not getting a solo. Even after she came in with tape over her mouth in 'silent protest' that wasn't really 'silent'. I know Rachel's been bullied a lot. But just as the most talented shouldn't be ignored to boost someone else's ego, the rest of the group shoudn't be ignored to boost the leads ego.
Yes she did that after hearing Sunshine crying and vomiting in the bathroom and accused her of faking it to make her feel sorry for her.
