  • When you dip as much tungsten as I do a dedicated tungsten grinder is a nice thing to have. I bought the made in America TungstenMate Gen4 grinder attachment for a Dremel type tool and it's been great. Around 100 grinds using just one diamond disc so far.

You just put a slight kerf in the tungsten then snap with pliers. Always break off the contaminated tips from the tungsten so you don't just keep contaminating your sharpened tips from the grinder wheel.

The round cutout in the housing is for you to be able to cut off the end of the tungsten.

@@69nites have you used that feature.....seems logical but usually it grabs your tungsten and flips it out of your hand screwing up more than its worth....lol

@@shrconstruction I don't have this particular tungsten grinder, but I figured you can just grab the end with your pliers and use the body as leverage in the cutout.

At 5:49 the slot there on the top is for cutting the tungsten :) You don't need to use the bench grinder. Edit: Never mind, jumped too early.

You definitely dont want to grind on contaminated tungsten on your diamond wheels because it will ruin them. You need to cut the contaminated part off first.

If you’re gonna do an instructional video......wouldn’t it make sense to have read the instructions yourself so that you don’t look kinda silly stumbling and fumbling?
